Best Thai food since I left Detroit!!!!!!! I grew up in Detroit Michigan and moved to Detroit Lakes Minnesota 17 years ago. I was in the Minneapolis area recently and wanted to get some Thai food for lunch since there is no Thai food in my area and there is not really any decent Thai food in Fargo which is the closest bigger city to where I live now. I stopped at Pad Thai and ordered my food thinking it was just another less than great Thai restaurant that I would have to settle for. When the food arrived it looked impressive. I started eating it and then the hostess came and asked me how I liked it and I said “this is the best Thai food I have had since I left Detroit 17 years ago”! She asked where in Detroit I had eaten and then revealed to me that the chef had learned his craft in the very restaurants I mentioned. It turns out I ate at the exact restaurants he had worked at back in the early 90’s and I had recognized his excellent food by taste. Vincent Yang came out and talked to me and told me how he cares for his clientele and listens to what they like and he is constantly improving his craft with their feedback. He is a very talented man that cares for his customers. He was so excited to tell me about a new dish he created that he made me a sample of it to go. The setting is simple and clean with excellent service for dining in or carry out. I can’t tell you how pleased I am now that I have found my home for Thai food in Minnesota. I will never go to the Minneapolis area and not stop here for a great meal.

We went in not expecting much after reading a few recent reviews and it being Andover and all. I almost went with the same old same old, but the server was awesome, she had really good recommendations and the people next to us were so nice and told us the pepper squid was awesome AND IT WAS. My husband is still talking about it and says he is driving back just for that. I got level 3 and my husband got level 4 and we were super happy with the spice level. I dont care how much you tell a place to make it spicy, they never do! But this was perfect!! We are going back for sure. I think the people that thought it was bland are crazy. I would prefer a soda machine for refills and not bottles, but small complaint.

Absolutely phenomenal. As a Thai food fan, the best I have found locally (and without traveling to Bangkok or HK), was either Sawatdee or uptown. My wife and I spotted this restaurant in the Andover Clocktower Commons at Hanson & Crosstown, and gave it a try. This is by far some of the best Thai food I have ever found in the metro. Even the Thai iced tea (with half-and-half) was spot on. I recommend their signature dish, the Pad Thai, with a little spice. You can do a lot of driving and never find Thai food as well represented at this. If you like Thai, youll love this.

Its a seriously great place, and it is the only place I go to for any kind of Asian food. The pricing is good. Some people have said that the food is in take-out containers, but thats not true. Any review beyond the current year is, actually, kind-of irrelavant, because this place has only been open for a little over a year. The old place that used to be here was Asian too, but this is a completely different place with a completely different name, and chef. Plus, the chef is super cool (he gave me chow mein on my birthday!), and he has serious experience in cooking.

This is the best place for Asian food. The taste and the flavor of the ingredients are amazing. If you want good quality food I definitely recommend that you go here. They also have vegetarian and vegan options. I highly recommend getting vegetable curry with extra tofu if you dont eat meat of course. The spice level is also accurate than other Asian restaurants. If you cant handle spicy food definitely get mild. As for me I always get medium spice level because I love the flavor. If you are a risk taken and love spicy foods well definitely get very spicy.

Disappointing. Chow mein was steamed celery with some minced meat. No ginger, no soy, no onion, no sauce. Fried rice mushy and cubed chicken seemed like luncheon meat. When you eat in you are given fork and its served in take out container. The restaurant could have potential maybe cut down on menu offerings and focus on mastering a few and buy some plates for customers to eat off of. Its a competitive market and there are better choices in the area. I would give this a pass as its well below mediocre.

Went there for the first time last week and was very impressed. Delicious, fresh Thai food IS possible in the suburbs! Who knew? Was blown away by how good the food was. We are picky and hard to please but we both thought our meal was fabulous. So glad we discovered this hidden gem. We will be going back often!! Service was great, too. Nice big portions! Clean restaurant. So wonderful! GO! You wont be disappointed.

Not sure what people are raving about here, its mediocre Thai food. Sure its the best in the area but certainly not nearly as good as the top Thai restaurants in Minneapolis and St Paul. Its a nice Thai ma and pa family restaurant. Some dishes are better then others. I didnt like their Pad Thai very much. The place is good for the convenience of the locals but nothing special beyond that.

We have been looking for a Thai place in the north metro for a 8 years! This just opened and is REALLY GOOD! We have tried multiple dishes and loved them. It is authentic Thai. Make sure if you dont like spicy food to ask them to withhold the spice. I also like the fact that when I order food over the phone the person who typically answers speaks english very well and is easy to understand.

Great food and very fast too. Definitely as good as any of the top thai places in Minneapolis. This is a smaller place (maybe 10 tables max) with nice decor. We have been here a few times now and it is very consistent. As noted below, one drawback is that the thai is on the sweet side. But that still isnt enough to drop my rating. Possibly they use less soy sauce vs other places as well.

It was our first time here and we had a delicious lunch. The service was delightful and the cook came out to greet us and ask if we were happy. He even gave me a wonderful sample of their Pad Thai noodles, which were delicious. We are anxious to return and try more selections from their menu. The lunch portion was as large as most restaraunts dinner portions. Delicious!

Very clean and nice, with both take-out and dine-in. They seem to have a steady take out business and frequent regular visitors for restaurant eating. This place is friendly and family-run and we have had a good experience every time. The food is fresh and menu has great variety. Good curry and rice dishes, rich flavors and ample portions. Fantastic calamari (A5)!
