Day 3 open for business, wow the folks packing in for really tremendous Brick Oven Pizza Pie, a old school rustic version we had the Carnivore Mega Meat load Pizza spot on. Really unique Chicken Meatball Sliders a first for me really great mixture for moist explosive flavor. Now the big hit for us those Sicily inspired Balls only found a few places around metro Detroit these Arancini filled with Meat n Cheese OMG we both like WOWED a must try, get those balls folks youre gonna be impressed. Owner stopped by checking on every table in this building designed and built by him. He takes pride in the whole experience as he should absolutely another fantastic new business addition to the Downriver scene. Great food...waitresses need a lil tune up but the food made up for it...I always make sure to tip even on carry out ...but after she hit me with a okie doke and told me my food had been giving to some one else she lost that.! Normally wouldnt complain but since it was my lunch break of the day and I made sure to call it in so I wouldnt have to spend my lunch break waiting for the food! None the less ..pizza and wings was prolly the best Ive had in the area ever! ... Also overheard a waitress talking to another waitress explaining how she didnt know what cognac was or she never heard of it...kinda weird when u work at a bar..where do u find these waitresses? Forever 21?

The Grotto is dimly lit to create ambiance, but I thought it was too dark, and my eyes took a bit to adjust. Our waitress was not attentive and forgot to return with requested items multiple times or brought us incorrect ones. Negatives aside, the booths are really comfy. The cheese bread appetizer is delicious, as was the gnocchi. There werent any vegetarian options that included protein, but I enjoyed my carb-laden food for the night and had leftovers the next day.

Best pizza in the area! Ive tried so many different pizza places trying to find a great pizza, and this is the best Ive found so far! Delicious, old-world brick oven pizzas with a perfectly crispy crust. We also had the grotto sandwich and the breadsticks, and so far, everything was spot on and pulled together with a very friendly staff and really enjoyable atmosphere. This will certainly be our new spot for pizzas and Italian eats!

Quickly becoming one of my favorite places. I see an expansion in their future. Nice inside, cozy feel, but with the number of people frequenting here, it gets a little busy. The pizza is awesome! The Soup they brought me was a huge serving and awesome. Friendly staff. Our kids like the plain cheese pizza, too. Quickly becoming our favorite pizza (and more) place.

Extremely disappointing! After ordering meals of $40-$50 approximately a dozen times the food is inconsistent. Pasta was not very tasty, and the desserts are horrible! Also you have to practically beg them to deliver food, even though you pay for it, and tip! Im a stay at home dad who also works from home and lives only 3 miles away.

We happened to be there on the night before their grand opening with their families and friends. We were welcome however. The meatballs were very good, tasty, antipasto salad was plentiful and the gnocchi was good! The service was wonderful and I want to welcome them to the community, finally a nice place close to home.

The food was just meh. The portions were small. The sauce tasted like out of a can. The salad was extremely watery ( but Im glad they at least wash the lettuce!) The homemade creamy Italian dressing was tasteless. After reading all the positive reviews, we obviously didnt have the same experience. We wont be back :(

I have eaten here several times, and I havent been disappointed. The food was really great, I really enjoyed the pizza! The service has been really fast and extremely friendly-- I am usually dining in when its not real busy. I will definitely eat here again.

Great fire baked pizza & clozones I would suggest lightly browned baked they cook pizza anyway u like it so just ask. The staff is slow on Friday Saturday nights or I would have gave 5 stars u tried the rest now try the BEST!!

Would be a five star review, but after you get your food, the staff seems to forget you exist. Waited forever for a refill and even longer for my bill. The food is amazing though, and is very well priced.

I called this place to order to go and they answered the phone, "Grotto, please hold" and left me on hold for 20 minutes. If youre a bar, just be a bar and dont claim to be a great restaurant.

Slow service. There is no hostess, so you wonder around to see if there is a spot to sit. There isnt a manager on staff so it seems to be very unorganised.
