I first visited this sushi restaurant on my birthday last year, and I was so glad my husband brought me here. Small and cozy, this restaurant has a great vibe. We visited for dinner again a couple of nights ago after work and we were the only ones there. It was nice being the only guests, we were really able to take in the whole dining experience. We were greeted by an older woman who sat us at the same booth we dined in on my birthday. We were given water and a hot towel to wipe our hands, which is a very nice touch. She also took our napkins from our glasses and placed them on our lap for us, great service! We were starving so we ordered the coconut shrimp and steamed gyoza appetizers. The coconut shrimp came with five good sized pieces, and the honey mustard on the side had a nice spice to it that complimented the sweetness of the coconut. You can get the gyoza steamed or fried (we opted for steamed). Packed with flavor, I was wanting to order another serving! We each got three rolls, and our eyes were way bigger than our stomachs! You can really taste how fresh their sushi is. Our sushi was served in a big bamboo boat, which I thought was hilarious. I felt so gluttonous eating a boat full of sushi, but we laughed it off and had fun joking about it. I highly recommend checking this place out if you havent already!

Best sushi in town, that is certain. The chef is also license to cut and serve Fugu (puffer fish), though I havent found anyone who wants to go with me to eat it, and I cant justify doing it alone. The decor and music are excellent and the staff is always very courteous. They frequently give complementary ice cream, and took excellent care in helping arrange my anniversary at their location. Tableside service is usually very good, but they seem to pride themselves on giving their customers their privacy. This may come off as rude to some people, but Im very pleased with it. It allows for a quiet, calm meal with little interruption. If you need someone, just flag them down. Its not a large place.

It was a delightful experience! The staff was attentive, smiling, and very friendly. They were punctual with everything. The sushi pieces were big and fat, and everything they put inside was flavorful and fresh (I like to pick apart my sushi and enjoy the individual bits). We also ordered dumplings, which were delicious, and served with a nice sauce. We were pleasantly surprised to find that our order came with miso soup and ginger salad at no additional cost, and the price was good. We enjoyed the decorations as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant as a great place to eat!

An excellent experience here. I was in the mood for some staple sushi selections, like California and Alaskan rolls. The rolls were very generously stuffed with meat and avocados. Soup and salad came with the meal at no additional charge, and made for a great appetizer. Its also worth mentioning that the staff do a great job of paying attention to diners. We had 4 different people throughout the experience making sure our drinks were refilled, taking orders, serving food, etc. Will I be back? Absolutely! And Ill make sure Im plenty hungry before I go.

I was just in the area for business and I was craving Sushi. A little Google-Fu presented me with Sake and I actually ordered take-out as I wasnt aware of the atmosphere for dining solo. Anyhow... I got some Miso Soup. Tempura Scallops, and a "Michigan Roll". I think I remember myself not being especially fond of Miso soup but, this one was pretty tasty. The tempura scallops were awesome. I had never had scallops prepared that way. The Michigan roll was large and delicious. If I ever find myself back up there I will definitely order from Sake again.

Is this place serious? Ive lived in Japan for many years so I know what sushi is. First of all, theyre supposed to use sticky short grain rice. They arent. Second, they are supposed to mix the rice with vinegar. They do not. Third, the portion of the fish to rice ratio was way off. On top of that the quality of the fish wasnt even good. This is not sushi. This is like calling a hot pocket a burrito. Do yourself a favor and do not come here. If you know anything about how sushi is supposed to taste, you will surely be disappointed.

This place is great. Not only does this restaurant have the best sushi between here & Vancouver, but absolutely fantastic people work here. Take has big, perfect cuts of sashimi, fresh Uni & great sushi rolls. We especially enjoy the Saba, as well as the Blushing Eskimo & Ninja Turtle rolls. We’ve been lucky enough to eat at the best sushi restaurants throughout North America & Take Sushi ranks at the very top of our scale. No wonder they are voted the best sushi in the area!

This is the go-to sushi place in southeast Michigan. The food is all extremely fresh (you will notice how most other places are terrible, after eating here), and the staff is nice. Get the OMG roll. No other roll in the universe is better. Thank me later. If you have been hesitant in the past to try raw sushi, this is the place to do it—the fish is fresh and delicious. These people are truly passionate about perfecting sushi, and the end product is proof.

Sushi must be fresh, appealing, appitizing and delicious. Take Sushi accomplishes all of the above. What it lacks, is marketing. It is located in a strip mall in Rochester Hills. It is a small place in the corner of the mall, and not easy to find. Its decor is simple. The service is sublime, patient and yet, quick. This is a place you will return to time and again, and they will remember you! Dont miss it!

First, sushi is amazing. Definitely best in a 20+ mile radius. Ive never been let down. I love the authentic atmosphere and the service. Ive heard people say its pricier than other sushi bars in the area. I do not think so.. Sumo down the road doesnt offer free miso soup and cucumber salad like Take does and every other sushi place Ive been. There are endless good things about this place. Youve got to try it. =)

Take Sushi is the best in Oakland County. My wife and I have gone there since theyve opened, and we now bring our children. The food is great, innovative and fresh. The service is incredible… the servers are prompt, courteous and extremely friendly. They treat us and our children as if we were family. It’s a great place to go on a quite date, with friends or with your family. Every visit is a treat!!

The quality and freshness of the sushi/ sashimi is consistently exceptional. We have gone there for 10 years and are always amazed! We have tried other sushi places and were always disappointed with other places because we expect the same standard as Take Sushi... The service is amazing and the food is exquisite! Try it and you will know what fresh sushi should taste like!!

Really love this place! Although the building is small, the sushi rolls are BIG! The staff is very friendly, and food is consistently good. Ive yet to find an item I dislike (granted, I stick mostly to sushi & sashimi), and I love that soup & salad are included in the price of your meal. And for those of you that like an Andes mint with the bill... they do that too!
