If I could give it -5 stars, I would do it in a heartbeat. All +5-star reviews are a joke and should NOT be trusted, they are NOT being honest. See my review below for more info. Came to this place today (10/05/2016) @ around 8:20PM with my wife. It was customer-empty except 1 group of Chinese folk who happen to be friends with the employees/owner, so I wouldnt count them as honest customers. I used to go to this place for lunch on quite a few occasions when I was working for a company nearby, and I havent had any problems. Ever since moving to my new job, I havent gotten the chance to eat here in a long time....so I decided to take my wife and I here for dinner. We both ordered the katsu curry ramen. I shouldnt have tipped since its a self serving place and you pay upfront upon making an order, but I did anyway. We got our food and there were 3 things that completely ruined our visit. 1. There was a huge paper brew tea bag with basil and/or other leaf spice inside the bag. There was an orange/red rubber band that was wrapped around it (for whatever reason). Now, this huge bag was inside my wifes bowl of katsu curry ramen. We complained about it and the cook (who barely spoke english, only Chinese) said it was ok and that its part of the curry seasoning. Well, DUHHHH i know that much and did he really imply that it was intentional?! what the heck is it doing in my wifes bowl?! It looked dirty and no restaurant that I know of does this!!! But it doesnt end there... 2. Piece of the cooks hair was in my wifes bowl of broth. It couldnt have been my wifes because she has long hair and the cook had short hair. So, it was easy to pin point the culprit (especially when there was only 1 cook in the kitchen at the time). So, I pointed at his lingering hair with my finger in the bowl after he gave a sorry for an excuse for my point #1 above and I asked "whats this hair doing here?!" and THAT, he couldnt come up with excuse and he had a silent reaction, nothing to say. My wife, benevolent as she was, said "I know youre closing soon so Ill just eat it instead of having you make another batch..." and I immediately responded with anger "no youre not eating this, you (cook) remake this" which shortly after turned to "cancel the order and give me my refund" which they respected, but they kept my 18% tip (my fault for being generous?) 3. Im the kind of person who doesnt even care about how food tastes, but THIS curry ramen was very under quality and under quantity for being priced at about 13 bucks a piece. No flavor, only something youd eat if you were literally LITERALLY dying of starvation. Conclusion: We will never come to this place EVER again and am advising others to stay the F away from this place as well to avoid getting ripped off. Bonus Info: Just to give all you a small history lesson on this place...several years ago, Nagomi used to be Japanese owned. Now its Chinese owned via $$$ acquisition. So, if you think youre getting good Japanese food, youre in for a treat... "made in China" is more like it.

First things first... This place was a bit difficult to find because they only have a paper sign in the window but they are connected to a small Asian market, so keep a look out for that. The interior looks like an old shopping mall food court but everything is clean and delicious smells greet you at the door. The waitstaff are friendly and helpful -- we sat in the overflow section during the tail-end of the lunch rush but our tea was often refilled without us asking and we were promptly brought extra napkins when they were requested. On to the food! The tea was hot and tasty, not fantastic, but it was free, so hey! We ordered tonkotsu (pork) ramen, beef udon, and sesame balls for dessert. Everything was fresh, well-seasoned, generously portioned, reasonably priced, and very yummy. The ramen was the ramen of my dreams -- SO AWESOME!!! I may be addicted now... Overall, this is a great place for lunch or a casual dinner because its a good deal and the food is fantastically good. The only reason its not 5-stars is because of the interior, but if thats not important to you at the time then hit this place up.

It was a bit tricky to find (its next to the Indian Restaurant on Novi Rd. and Grand River) but that only makes it better. Since coming back from studying abroad in Hokkaido, I tried looking for something that was similar to what I enjoyed in the school cafeterias and this fits it perfectly! I would love to see some cold ramen dishes in the summer though, as I dearly miss my beloved hiyashi ramen.

This place reminds of small mom and pop shop in Japan. You basically choose what you want, add any extra if you wish. Each item has its own extra items you can add. Then pay by the front counter. You get your own water for drink. Pick your own choice of untencile. Oh and when you are done eating, make sure that you clean your stuff before you leave.

Very authentic Japanese food. You must try this place if you are into Ramen udon or soba noodle dishes. I really like the Nagoya Ramen and the gyoza here. The portions and the food quality are good too. The interior and Ambiance could use a lot of Improvement or renovation which is what brings this from a 4-star to a 3-star.

So good! This is a hidden gem in Novi for extremely authentic Japanese food. The atmosphere is very spartan, just like in Japan, its a little odd when you walk in. But the udons, ramens, and appetizers are to die for. Best in Detroit. I take a lot of people here and they walk in saying wtf and walk out wanting to come back!

This place has super official ramen. The menu has over 15 different types of ramen, and thats not including the varieties of udon, donburi, rice, stir fry, tempura, sides, and desserts. Its no frills legit. The sign just says "food" and inside its like a Japanese cafeteria complete with Japan TV screening at all times.

First visit but it just amzed me, its a real hidden gem here, the cook is japanese, price is good, food is pretty awesome, and they don have a waiter to bother you. You can just talk with friends here, and their food for kids is a surprise, really should bring ur familly here to try the food and nice asian atmosphere.

Lots of great things to try. The menu was on the left as you walk in is extensive and sorted mostly by cooking method. Order with slips at the register and wait for your number to be called. Good wont exactly come out together but its all fresh and tasty. Good portions, lots of fun things to try.

Its really good food for a good price. It honestly almost feels like youre eating at someones house. For people who dont completely understand how it works, you pick a card with bowl of ramen you want and bring it to the cashier. At the end, you take care of all dirty dishes and garbage.
