Great Beer selection!!! We have been fans of 8th st. grille for 0ver a decade! They have everything for the entire family at a good value. The soups are all homemade and some of the best you will ever have. Try the Corn Chowder and Tomato Grilled Cheese soups! The kids menu is excellent. All the food is top-notch and not made from cheap restaurant distributors. The beer selection you get is awesome! There are 38 beers on tap from Micro-brews mostly from Michigan, but also from other states. They tap about 3 new kegs a week so the selection is changing regularly but not to regularly. The service has been hit or miss lately. Mostly some of the waitresses need to up their customer service and not seem like they dont care about servicing you and slowing down and taking time to be interested in taking your order. The atmosphere can get loud when busy but its an old building with very tall ceilings that amplify the crowd noise. There is no music blaring to compete with so its not too overwhelming.

YUM YUM YUM! We (group of 7) went to this place on a Monday night after walking out of a restaurant down the street. What a great decision! Everything on the menu looked good, and it tasted just as good as it read! I had the yellow fin perch, and it was probably some of the best fish and chips Ive ever had. A coworker got the sirloin and loaded mashed potatoes (cheese and bacon on top), which looked amazing! I would definitely come back here for lunch or dinner, big group or dinner for two. Waitress was VERY attentive and made our dinner enjoyable.

Most of the food here isnt particularly good, at least what Ive had. The burgers and paninis are pretty mediocre, but I definitely dig both of the fish and chips plates. Anyway, this place isnt really about the food. What makes it shine is the 28 constantly changing taps, and the awesome beer prices. Show me another place where you can get a 12 oz pour of some 10% abv brew for $5. Craft brew lovers have a reason to stop in here every couple days, because some of the taps will undoubtedly have changed.

Our first meal in Holland was at 8th Street Grille, a poor selection on our part. We had just arrived and was ready to grab a causal meal and unwind from our travels. There was no hostess when we arrived, so it took a minute to be greeted and seated. Our server was pleasant, but didnt immediately clear plates or refill our water. Coney Island-level food with okay service, and too many TVs! Overall, "meh." (Disclaimer: We are from Ann Arbor, MI!)

Great family tavern. It was bustling when we arrived with a ton of locals which is always a good sign. We had the soup bar which I guess theyre known for. The corn chowder was out of this world. And I also loved the potato dumpling soup. The prices were reasonable and the service was friendly despite the crowd. Would happily recommend this place to others!

Wasnt bad, wasnt great. There sandwiches had nice flavor although they were a bit thing on the filling. They ended up giving us one wrong sandwich and the 2 coffees they ordered only tasted like they had 1 shot of espresso when they took the upsale on 2 and we very bland flavor wise. Probably wouldnt choose it a second time.

I love historic locations so this adds to the appeal of the spot for me. I went with a friends grandmother and well the fish was a bit to over cooked for her to eat. The rest of the dinning experience for me and my friend was good. I love trying blue cheese burgers and my "Moody Blues" burger was pretty good.

Overall good experience. Fast & attentive service. Nachos app was very "eh" and looked as if it had just popped out of my microwave at home. Fish and chips entree was excellent, crisply breaded whitefish and crunchy fries. Overall good experience, but app was not up to snuff. Give it a try!

They are at the heart of the town. Reasonably priced and good food. Have take out option. Tried their chicken BBQ burger and it was good. Crowded, but they make sure to get you a seat if you are in line and ready to wait for half an hour or a bit more.

The past two times I went here I was disappointed with the food. However, their soup bar is always a good choice. If one has the option, I would instead suggest trying out Hops. Its owned by the same people but they have much better food options.

Well I will say it was ok. Took along time to get our food which was a ok burger at best and some fries colder then McDonalds ever thought about putting out. I had them make new fries but literally took 15 minutes to get hot fries. Not 2 impresswd.

Food was mediocre at best. The waitress dropped off our food and we asked needed anything. We asked for more tarter sauce and vinegar for fish and chips. But she never came back until we were done with our dinner. I wouldnt recommend this place.

8th Street is a local favorite. Great selections of beers. The soup bar is famous, especially the always on corn chowder. In general, the food can be a bit bland, but its no reason to stay away. Try the Jalapeño Juicy Lucy Burger.

Soup bar was fine, ruben sandwich was light on corned beef and too much kraut, way over priced at $10.29 will not order that again,in fact it looks like they have had a major price increase on the menu way over priced!!

The good is really good, servers are great and the ambiance is great too. It is a great place to hang out with friends and to talk about the good old days. I enjoy coming to this restaurant any chance Im in Holland.

I love their food. Their pasta dish is especially good - keeping the unique flavors of the vegetables. The soup bar makes this restaurant even more worth it. The one downside is the loud-ness of the restaurant.

Weve enjoyed coming here over the years, but the soup bar has become ridiculous. You basically get broth and have to wait forever for the kitchen staff to change out the pots. Who wants to pay for broth? Not me.

Soup bar is the best in town. But I miss not having bacon to add to the soup. Corn Chowder is signature and the best while the rest of the soups are very good. Great winter place and has a Cheers atmosphere.

We liked the place, service and food. But someone stole our brand new umbrella that we were going to use to cover our baby as it started to rain. No one from the restaurant was concerned at all about it.

Great micro brew selections, also available in sample size so I could enjoy it without the down side. Very nice chicken mushroom plate. And the waitress tolerated our goofy humor, so that was nice.

My husbands french dip was roast beef (lunch meat) with cheese with no mushrooms or onions and canned au jus. My bratwurst was relatively tasteless. Id think Holland would have better sausage.

Burgers are great! Dined with my wife and son. We each had a different type of burger and they were all good. The root beer is good and the wife had a great cup of hot tea. Very nice inside!
