My wife and I went to Harsens Island for a day trip. Taking the ferry to the island was unusual and fun, we felt like we were on vacation and only an hour from home. The School house Grill has great food and the staff is very friendly. I would recommend this place to everyone. The perch sandwich I had was perfect and not over cooked. I especially liked the potato chips made with sweet potatoes. We stopped in for lunch and will be back to try the dinner menu and to sample their selection of wines. The prices are modest for such good food.

We had dinner there last night and we really enjoyed everything from the atmosphere, to the service to the great food. Would definitely recommend. Prices were reasonable too, which surprised me after reading some reviews online, I thought it would be expensive but it was not at all. Only negative if I could pick one was it was kind of warm in there (weather was humid outside though).

Pricey, but the food is very good. The service is ok, but when you are paying $15 for a burger and $2.50 for a can of coke without refills, it would be nice to not have to ask to have your water filled. The live music in the lower room made it difficult to have a conversation.

We stopped for lunch while on the island for work today and found a real gem! The food was super fresh and delicious and the atmosphere was great as well. I strongly recommend stopping if you find yourself on the island.
