Very dirty and smelly. The buffet items are spilling into other items and getting mixed up. The owner and manager ignore the request to keep clean. So you have meat dishes falling into vegetarian dishes. I saw chicken and sea food in the vegetarian dessert and dal. This is very bad. Also they do not clean the kitchen and the dishes properly. The waiter stuff is not trained very well. Basically the grocery guy has hired minimum wage idiots to serve plates and water. The wait staff do not know how to give service for indian food. The kitchen has to be cleaned every day. Not once a month. The food inspector should shut this place down. Also the used plates are not picked up quickly, so once some other customer leaves than u get flies and mosquitoes swarming the table next to you as the waiters do not pick up the dishes. The food is the worst. The owner basically like grocer mentality got some bargain low class chefs, instead of getting good trained chef, the two amateur chefs fooled the owner in thinking they know how to make all indian dishes. But the quality of food is very bad. Need to get new chefs who are trained to be clean and consistent. VERY AMATEUR EXPERIENCE. it is like eating in a bihar cafe which went through floods. all low class and dirty stuff here. just buy frozen food from the grocery and warm up in microwave, better option than this crap. oh and the one manager shiva and the other siddarth will try to be smooth and smart alec, but all their maska sweet talk cannot overcome the bad service and quality, they should shut down the place and lease out to chinese grocer or open barber shop. god bless america

The Indian food tastes alright but not authentic indian pure Indian food. This food doesnt taste as good, you can get them anywhere: the indo-Chinese, chicken 65, or the rice pudding ...Ive been to many Indian restaurants around USA include Denver, Seattle, Chicago, Houston, and Oklahoma City and all of them are way better then this place. My friends who I grew up with were Indian and I ate at thier house all the time and that was pure Indian food. This doesnt taste much like the restuants Ive been to even though the menus are fairly the same This place has very bad customer service. I called ahead if time and due to lack of being able to understand or speak English they mixed up my order, I checked it before leaving n they didnt even say sorry. They said itll take 15 minutes to make the right good I ordered in the first place and it took them 40 minutes they had less then 5 people there it shouldnt have taken that long. No sorry. No care about looseing customers I ate there a few times trying different dishes bit its over all bad, and Ive not had any good experience trying to order over the phone, the first time I didnt know their hours and called at 4:50 and they were quite rude over the phone and ib thr end said they open at 5pm and hung up on me....im never coming here again!

I was in charge of organizing a banquet for the local fencing team and out of the teams votes, Swagath won out of the other options presented that would have worked for our team size and dietary needs. Very glad I included this place as part of the voting options as the banquet room was beautiful and we were able to fit 50-60 people in there comfortably. Dining experience for all of us was very pleasant and the owner set up a buffet style with a previously discussed menu that appealed to vegetarians and meat eaters alike while also being able to get through all of our planned awards and activities. I would only wish there was more clear communication about booking the event/room but I cannot complain as we had the whole restaurant to ourselves and had a great time.

I hate reviewing restaurants. I typically only share my two cents if I really hate the place to spare people from making a mistake. That isnt the case with Swagath Indian Cuisine. Ive ordered take-out a half dozen times and it has never failed to impress. Ive ordered vegetarian, lamb, chicken, naan, soup, gobi manchurian, samosa etc. and it has all been the bees knees. My rating is based solely on my experience with their cuisine and does not consider the restaurants decor or ambience because that shite doesnt matter to me in the least. The dude who rated this place an "8/100" and then gave it two stars is obviously challenged in some way or another so feel free to ignore his contribution.

I went here last night and it was excellent. The vegetable samosa was the best one Ive ever had, so crispy on the outside and the sauces that came with it were very tasty. We then ordered the chicken tikka masala and the cubed cheese with peas. Both were amazing---the chicken was tender (not dry at all) and so, so creamy. I also got an order of butter naan, which was excellent as well. Everyone was very friendly and the place was clean and cozy. I felt like writing this review because I was surprised to find a lot of poor reviews. This place doesnt deserve them as I had a very positive experience. I highly recommend this place!

I highly recommend this restaurant! The staff are all very nice, welcoming, and they do their job well. The food is amazing! Ive never been here for dinner because they have a buffet for lunch, which allows the guest to try many different options. Their naan is fresh, warm, and soft, and their chicken is always amazing! Oh and they recently got a new chef. I know because the first time eating here after the new hire I could tell a difference in the taste (even better than before)! I asked the cashier and she confirmed that they indeed have a new chef! Again, I highly recommend Swagath!

Its okay. Their food looks good, tastes bland. When you look at their fiery red looking tandoori chicken, you will drool but as you taste it, you ll find out that its bland. I have had authentic Indian food for 23 years and no, this is not good. Also, since they run a store besides it, I would add a warning. Please thoroughly check the best before of things that you buy. I have ended up buying things from their front shelves that had BB dates 4 months before date of purchase. 3 stars for food. 1 star for store.

I really enjoyed the buffet lunch, especially the mixed dahl. The sambals/sauces were excellent and it was lovely to have such a wide selection. I was especially delighted to have a fresh dosa delivered to the table just after we started our lunch. My dining companion raved about the rice pudding and we both walked out feeling like we over indulged because the food was so delicious. Im not in Michigan very often but I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good Indian food.

This place is good! Had a vindaloo, a chana masala, veggie somosas, and some buttered naan for about 33+tax. We ordered hot and got it within expectation. Ambiance was good, clean, and not over the top or anything. Service was great, with the manager, busser, waiter, and host working together well. All staff was very nice. Looking forward to trying their 12pm-9pm buffet celebrating Indias 71st year of Independence and swagaths 7th year of operation on August 15th!
