Garbage. The worst. Just awful. I suppose the best way to approach this disaster is chronologically. Me, wife, and four kids all endured this disaster. Im still apologizing to them. First, the soft drinks - Coke - had almost no carbonation. This is a pretty simple thing, but no, you cant even operate a fountain machine. Two kids got chocolate milk. Still had the spoons in it because you couldnt even be bothered to mix the substandard chocosugar mix into the milk. One kid got lemonade. Lemonade is apparently water that sat next to a lemon for a while. Fourth kid got water. Good for him, the rest of us made bad choices. Next up, the chips and salsa. Chips equals chunks of oil soaked deep fried stale corn tortillas. The salsa was some sort of red water with onion juice. Mostly red water. Tasted of water and onion juice. The best thing I can say about the chips and red onion water is that at least there wasnt much of it. Oh, yes. The entrees. Well. One kid got a a quesadilla. Not melted. At all. But the tortilla was pretty hard so I guess thats close? He took three bites and gave up. Next kid, two tacos. Ground beef. Spices included nothing, some salt, and nothing. The corn shell looked a lot like the chips from earlier but less grease laden and more stale. Somehow she powered through one of them. I admire that. Kid three played it safe and went with a grilled cheese. Ha! Wrong, smart guy. It was some sort of half liquid, store brand Velveeta. When he complained, wife took a bite and spit it into a napkin. Looked and tasted like plastic, but not the good kind. They all ordered french fries. Served soggy, salt free and with a nice botttle of store brand ketchup! Classy. Kid four got tostadas. Ate 1.5 but then wasnt ravenously hungry and began to taste the food (hes a teenager). At that point he just gave up. He did wonder how you take the taste out of the rice, though. Wife got fajitas. Lol no they werent. Some warm strips of comes-from-a-bag style fajita beef strips that tasted almost but not quite like liver. Some synthetic cheese. Some previously frozen green peppers. And all flanked by flavorless rice and somehow even more flavorless refried beans. Just sad. I mean, you dont know what fajitas are? You could watch a video or look in the window of a real restaurant. Theyre the sizzling things that come on the hot iron plate that are nothing like anything you have ever served, if that helps. I got the chicken combo dinner. The chicken was cooked and thats it. Nothing added to it. Not even the red onion water. There was "cheese." And sauce that somehow made the red onion water seem spicy and delicious. The beans were somehow the opposite of tasting like beans. I dont know how to describe it. It was like youd made a paste from packing peanuts and then dyed them brown. The previously mentioned rice was cardboard in feel and flavor. You know what? Im tired of this. It was crap. Flavorless, textureless garbage. It was worse than a Swanson microwave dinner. It was like Taco Tuesday at the nursing home. It was not as good as anything youd find in a random can at the dollar store. Seriously. Dont. Just dont. Dont eat here. You should close it up and open a restaurant that serves wood pulp and old tea bags and hay. No one would be disappointed then. You are horrible at what you do and should be ashamed.

I visited Rancho Grande on Saturday Evening. First thing I noticed in the door is there was a sign stating "No Cards Accepted" which I thought was ridiculous. It turns out the machine was broken, so I let that slide, as I had cash on me. The Greeter/Waiter was very nice. He seemed extremely friendly. The menu selection is not huge, but that isnt necessarily a bad thing. The prices on the menu were fair, and the water was very good. The decor was nice as well, and seemed to fit the style of the menu. Now, I will focus on a few of the things that I was not impressed with. There was no music playing at all, and every small noise echoed throughout the entire room. Perhaps for some, that is not a big deal, but as I suffer from Misophonia, that was HUGE. When the food was brought to the table, I noticed that I only received a very small spoonful of rice and beans on my plate. When I say small, I mean there was barely enough to fill one small spoonful. I ordered the Combination Plate, and while the food was decent, it still was very "generic". My Ladyfriend ordered the Taco Salad and it was like a very small side salad with taco-esque toppings. I am not saying to avoid this place, as the food was not bad per-say, and it is entirely possible that I went on an off-night, but I do not hold it in the same caliber as Nuevo Vallarta. It is a small town, local owned Mexican Restaurant, that I have heard great things about, but did not experience personally. No more, no less.

I would give less stars if I could. The food was tasteless, "refried" beans were black beans warmed from a can, the chips and "salsa" were terrible. The "salsa" was red tasteless soup and chips were tasteless pieces of board no salt to at least bring some sort of flavor. Paid extra for the chips and salsa which was brought out while our food was warmed up. Paid extra for a leaf of lettuce chopped up, and three cake frosting tip sizes of sour cream and 4 small pieces of chopped tomato. This was called deluxe!!!! Rice was prepared from a box with dehydrated carrots and peas in it. Beef in burrito was floating in grease and absolutely no seasoning. Worn out menus, dirty tables ( no one else in restaurant) food and debris all over the floor. Would probably cringe at the sight of the kitchen..... not gonna think about that. I had heartburn and terrible burping episodes shortly after consuming a portion of the food that was served to me. Never have that type of gastric reaction.

This restaurant has the potential to be great. Good location, Cute Exterior, Clean interior, Passionate owner. The decore is drab and outdated. With a fresh coat of paint, new flooring, new table coverings, and removal of the large tree trunk, the dining room would be perfect. No chips and salsa. WHAT?!? The food was mediocre. Nachos were bland. The desert, is a tortilla, fried in old oil, with a large amount of chedder cheese, topped with honey, served with a smile. I would give this restaurant another try, once they work out the kinks. Fresh food and a nice atmosphere will win me over, every time. Good luck to them!

As the owner of RANCHO GRANDE in Durand it really saddened me to see this misinformation being posted. Especially the last two that were very low. I know that because we dont even have alcohol of any sort. Like Sangria. Nor do we serve black beans in anything, The only food not prepared from scratch is the tomatoes in our cooking. Now I see why. There is another RANCHO GRANDE on Middle belt in Garden City . Nor do we use dehydrated. This is too bad that this has an affect on our rating. If you feel like you have had a bad experience and dont eat what you order you wont pay for it.
