From a person who truly loves and appreciates good food! When it comes to barbecue!!! These guys have some of the best barbecue Ive ever had in my life! All of the meat on the menu is always juicy, tender and full of flavor! The smoke ring on the brisket is always perfect and it falls apart with a little bit of a tug. (I would say you probably dont need teeth to eat it because its so tender) it literally melts when you bite into it. The ribs are the same way! With it barely needing a tug or bite to get it off the bone. Smoked to perfection! But you cant forget about the pulled pork either! The consistency of it isnt too stringy or mushy and it has nice chunks in it that makes a good hearty sandwich. Now when you pair those with the rice! Its a whole nother experience that is amazing. Gabe and Mike are always welcoming and make you feel like a regular even if its your first time there. I live about 45 minutes away and Im happy to make the drive to get their food! Get there early so you can get your choice of meat because they usually sell out quick. Great people! Great food! I cant get enough of Ricewood! Warning: The food might change your life because other barbeque might not taste as good.

There arent a lot of BBQ places in Ann Arbor. Luckily we probably have the best BBQ in southeastern michigan. You can find this truck permanently parked behind Morgan and York. they are only opened for lunch, starting at 11am until the meat runs out. Dont try to show up and buy more BBQ to take home, there is a limit of 2 meat servings per person. They sell bowls of rice topped with a spicy or super-spicy vinegar mixture. a side of pickles and some fantastic BBQ meat on top. I prefer the brisket but you can also get a half chicken or pulled pork or some of the best ribs Ive ever had. Oh, and the side of pickles is no slouch: homemade and delicious on their own.

Ive heard a lot about rice wood from quite a few people so finally got around to trying it. I tried the pork rice bowl with half spicy/regular sauce. I found the pork to be very good, but not sure about having it over rice, a little more fushion that traditional BBQ. The rice was pretty over cooked, so maybe that didnt help. The portion was very large, Im a big guy and can eat a lot but it was seriously 2 meals. I really wish they had more traditional options to pair with the pork like beans, corn, coleslaw, etc. Ill definitely be back but will probably only do the meat option and skip the bowl.

Food was good. The brisket was delicious but the rice was overcooked and kind of gelatinous. I would definitely go back for the brisket and look forward to trying the pork. They also didnt have any sandwiches the day I went but maybe next time. Added bonus they have a vast selection of craft beers at the same location.

If you havent had a ricebowl from Ricewood, then you havent lived. The best hidden (maybe not so hidden anymore) gem in Ann Arbor. For you newbies out there, get the pork shoulder ricebowl 50/50 extra cukes. And then dump the cukes onto your ricebowl. You can thank me in the replies.

Ricewood BBQ is basically the best food truck in ann arbor. Its also an entirely hidden word of mouth place. Its hidden behind a few shops on Packard, and has every single visit been as good or better than the last visit. I would recommend the spicy brisket bowl! A+ in my opinion!

Rice bowl w/ Pork shoulder and super spicy was delicious. The vinegar sauce can seem a little powerful but grows on you. They happily use biodegradable cutlery and bowls. I will be returning again to try the brisket before they run out for the day :D

Didnt get to try the brisket because they were sold out by 12:15. However, I had the pork shoulder rice bowl, spicy and they did not skimp on the portions or the habanero peppers. Highly recommended, cant wait to try the brisket some day.

If I could eat this every day I would. Love the pork shoulder and brisket. They just started this year with chicken and it was great too! They run out early and its best to get there before noon. Its a hidden Ann Arbor treasure.

Easily the best BBQ in the immediate Ann Arbor area. The guys start early and everythings ready by open and fresh until close. The brisket rice bowl with 50/50 heat is absolutely out of this world.

Ive had everything on the menu and you cant loose here. The level of heat goes up exponentially. Get 50/50 if you want it hot and spicy if you want to work up a sweat.

Go here and eat. Nice guys great bbq. Brisket so tasty! Spicy vinegary rice so good. Tasty fresh cucumber side. Great find!
