This mom-and-pop hole-in-the-wall has the BEST vegetarian jja-jang-myun in Michigan. Being a small store run by an old couple, the service can get very slow during peak hours so I only recommend if youre not in a rush. Why the 2-star deduction? Since Ive graduated, Ive had opportunities to return to AA and three times Ive been turned away because the owner was too busy. The old man directly told me in Korean that he is very busy and so he cannot sit me. I thought he was joking but he says, "No really. Come back next time." After a few times it really makes you not want to come back.

Im a Korean cuisine nut, ever since I worked in a family-run Korean restaurant for several years, and have eaten it just about everywhere in town (and many other places in other cities as well), so when I say Panda is the best around, I dont say so lightly. The place is tiny and a janky hole in the wall, but the food is fabulous and worth the sacrifices in ambience, amenities, and service. Its only a husband-and-wife affair, so wait times can get long, and if busy, the husband, who works the front of the house, can be short. But again, its totally worth it. Go and eat well!

Wonderful food, beautifully presented. My sister & I were out shopping as we are want to do when I visit downstate. We were hungry & were going to hit the restaurant next door but they were closed. A gentleman was coming out of Panda & gave us a positive review. He was right. Thank you good Samaritan. Were hooked. Most of the seating is for 2, so large groups would have a problem if the 1 or 2 big tables were taken. The place is a bit underwhelming aesthetically, but is clean. The food is what you will go here for. Its fantastic.

Never have had this bad experience of being treated so rude by their waiter. Dont expect Chinese food, even their menu are written in Korean and very very simple English thats pronounced similar to Korean! No one was here when I walked in, and after you sit and order, the waiter refused to offer any help and recommendation for menu, you asked why? He said all items are in menu, dont ask me anything! There were no picture in menu, no explanation in English in menu. Worst experience and rudest waiter ever!

Who is writing these positive reviews? Are you paid by the owner to do so? My friend and I tried it today based on the ratings. We almost turned and left when we saw how unkempt and dirty it was but figured the ratings must mean "something". Our table was sticky-dirty. We ordered chicken stir fry, which was average. No refills on my tea. When we paid I noticed how filthy the cash register, and the area around it, was. Probably not dusted in a couple of years. This is one place to avoid!

We love the food from Panda Korean. We commonly order Mapo Dofu with mushrooms which is really good, but the Japchae is awesome. My daughter (8) and I love fish, so, when we tried the fish stew, we both loved it - so yummy! The physical place is well worn, basic and clean, but the food is better than that of restaurants with fancier decor. The gentleman who serves us is ALWAYS pleasant. We have never had bad food from Panda.

YUM! Hubbys family spent many years in Korea, and introduced my family to the joys of Korean food. Over time, weve sampled Korean food all over the world and I have to say that the BiBimBop at Panda House is top notch! Great depth of flavor and a wonderful mix of tastes, smells, and textures. Its definitely a Ma and Pa place, and for us that makes it even more appealing in terms of supporting it as a consumer.

Delicious Korean home cooking. Chinese items are OK. Go for the Korean. I eat at this restaurant once a week. I like spicy Korean food and am never disappointed. I especially recommend the kim-chee pancake and the spicy chicken, but most of the Korean offerings are very good. The Korean food is served with the tradition banchan (side dishes) -- usually four, but sometimes as many as six.

This place is absolutely phenomenal. The food was in front of us within 10 minutes of ordering, and was super delicious. Very friendly, authentic atmosphere. Large portion sizes for the price you pay (I couldnt finish it, and believe me, thats unusual for me!) Will definitely go again.

How does this place have such a high rating? The food was decent at best and extremely over priced. $15 for one entree??? All it had was chicken and a few pieces of broccoli. Ive never felt so inclined to share my opinion on a place.

Little hole in the wall restaurant with excellent korean food. I cant speak for the chinese menu, but if youre a lover of korean you will not be disappointed with the food here--not to mention the value you get for food is exceptional.

Super good food and the very definition of a "hole in the wall". Im a white dude so I cant speak to the authenticity of the food, but I do know my girlfriend and I seem like the only non-koreans whenever we go here.

Its mostly Korean food. Had a chicken bulgogi, it was quite good. The place doesnt look really clean and it is very basic, considering this the rates seem a little overpriced.

Delicious food. Spicy jajangmyeon was good. Bibimbap was excellent. Banchan all tasted good. The owner guy was nice. Looks terrible from the outside but the inside is okay.

Very friendly. Delicious. Eating there is better than carry out, though that doesnt stop us from getting carry out every month or so.

Seafood pancake is the best. The only down side is the wait time. What more can u ask when the restaurant is only run by a couple?

Highly recommend this place if youre looking for Korean-style Chinese food (peking noodles, jjambbong, tangsooyook).

Good place for Korean-style chinese food. Prices are a bit high though, considering the gloomy atmosphere.

Excellent food! Dont expect the same cookie cutter Americanized food that we call "Chinese". Love it!
