Had the Irish breakfast platter. The light sausage was a little pink so it made me nervous. Not a fan of the dark sausage even though I thought it was burnt. The red sausage was good. It is a little pink inside too but maybe its just the way it is. Eggs, tomatoes, toasts, and beans taste the way it should. Nothing really stood out. Overall nothing really stood out. There was a little wait when we showed up at 930am. When we were sat down there were already two empty cups on the table. The waitress asked if we wanted coffee. I said sure and she poured it for us. I was under the impression that it was free. It is only $2.50 each but just caught me by surprise. Lastly we asked for water but they never brought it to us. Overall it was an OK experience.

Hash brown potatoes come along with some dishes but my waitress suggested substituting the tomatoes and it make my breakfast more in alignment with healthy eating. The Irish breakfast is wonderful but if you order any scrabbled eggs dishes here they give you about six eggs. I suggest ordering something like once over hard eggs to get just two. (Thats true in many breakfast places). The service is generally very considerate and pleasant. The cook and some of the servers have brogues, which is nice. They have a pile of newspapers they share with you. There is a four person counter where conversations can sometimes be struck up. The place is popular and often there is a waiting list at peak times. It is worth it, though.

Ive been here a couple times and its about time I write a review. Best food anywhere. Last time I was there I got the Hungry Man. While when you first read whats in it, it may seem like an ordinary breakfast dish that any place would offer. Then the waitress puts it in front of you and you realize you were wrong. I wish I could cook breakfast this good, so I didnt have to drive a hour to eat it. Also, they have amazing branding and the staff is always awesome. Half the reason I come in is because of the overall design of the place. Cheers.

This place is, hands down, the BEST spot in the area for breakfast. Expect a wait on weekends but if thats a problem, you have the option to order to go (or call for a pickup)! Portions are ridiculous to the point that I cant see how they dont charge a lot for the mass amounts of food. My personal favorites - Mad Matters Delight, Meat Lovers Omelette, Croissant Sandwich, and, if you are SUPER hungry, the breakfast pizza.

Wow! This place is amazing. I am a breakfast person. Ive hit diners, greasy spoons, and every breakfast serving chain restaurant that I passed all over this beautiful country. This one does it very well. Cute waitresses, great food, and a cozy, homey feel. Went back on a Wednesday around 11am, the line was out the door. We waited for about 15 minutes in the rain. It was worth the wet wait and every penny!

The wait staff is super friendly and the food is AMAZING! They make their own homemade corned beef hash which was delicious and they have interesting specials. I ordered the Mad Hatters Delight which was 3 eggs over a hash filled pastry smothered in a special sauce served with a side of home fries and it was the best hash breakfast Ive ever had.

I work down the street from here and we order out here a couple times a week. I love this place, definitely a hidden jewel on the south shore. Portions are nothing to scoff at, and everything is all very reasonable. I love that they have bangers and blood pudding sausage, seems like theyre hard to find these days!

My absolute favorite breakfast place! Always have great specials if youre looking to mix it up one day. I personally, 85℅ of the time, just get the classic Irish Breakfast. If youve never been here before you owe it to yourself to go. There maybe a little bit of a wait but Ive never waited more than 20 mins.

This place is a gem! Excellent food and friendly hard working staff. It gets busy, but what do you expect when they do EVERYTHING perfect. Have only been here for breakfast but will soon try the lunch menu as Im sure it will be just as good. Small seating area with many regulars who visit daily.

Been there 2 times so far and food and waitstaff is excellent. I had a creative breakfast "Frosted Flakes french toast " it was the best and a side of Irish sausage. The reason not 5 stars is because its very small inside which creates a long wait, but well worth it.

The BEST eggs Benedict with lobster!!! Awesome omelets made with fresh ingredients and large portions at reasonable prices!! Come hungry, but prepare to wait for about 10-15 minutes as there is usual a crowd of diners. Well worth the wait!!

So, I am a huge fan. You simply cant get food like this ANYWHERE else. Pot roast and eggs for breakfast? YES PLEASE! The food is excellent. The coffee is average. The service is great. The owner is always on site and is the real McCoy.

One of the best breakfast places in town. The food is good, the portions are generous, and prices are reasonable. But what really makes the Mad Hatter stand out are the staff. They can get busy at times. But well worth the wait.
