A year and a half ago, my (now) husband and I drove an hour and a half away to meet with Amanda, the function coordinator, to view the snow covered Bull Run Restaurant as a potential wedding venue for the following spring. She took us to the covered bridge, which was the initial reason we were drawn to the venue, and it was just as beautiful in person as it was in the pictures we had seen previously. The reception area we decided on **at the time** was the Patio/Garden Room, which was a great space for our small, 50 person wedding. Like I said, even covered in snow, Amanda definitely helped us envision the space on a gorgeous spring day! From day one, Amanda answered every single email I sent within a day, most of the time immediately! We met with her multiple times throughout that year and a half, she really got to know us and what we wanted for our big day! Alright, so as a nervous, stressed out bride the day before the wedding...rain in the forecast with a chilly 50 degree day was not what I was hoping for on the day of. It was our rehearsal, the day before the wedding, and Amanda pulled us to this space upstairs we had never seen, as a back up to the outdoor reception. Let me just say, I was so blown away by the unique beauty of this space. I felt like I was in a museum. Without a doubt, we agreed to changing the location of the reception. for the rehearsal, Amanda went over the order of events multiple times with our wedding party to make sure the big day would run smooth. The big day: I cant put in to words how perfect the day was. The covered bridge was decorated just as I had imagined. And for the reception, I had all these decorations that I only imagined outside on the patio, and Amanda really went above and beyond decorating the new space we chose. She truly made this my dream day. I wouldnt change a thing (not even the weather!) Start to finish, she was right there to make sure it was running smoothly. Our guests loved the food, and guess what!? WE LOVED THE FOOD. Yes, the bride and groom GOT TO EAT! Amanda made sure of it! Its delicious! The lovely staff at the Bull Run took all of our decor down and we were able to pick it up a few days later! In short, (since I could go on forever) If youre looking for an affordable, unique wedding venue, loaded with history, delicious food, a professional personable coordinator, a great time for everyone...a dream wedding, this is where you want to be! Thank you, Bull Run Restaurant & Amanda for making this day the best day of our lives! See you again soon! Staci & Phil

Got a chance to try out the brand new menu. To be honest, we have not been to the restaurant in many years, but I know that its continued to be popular. Our waitress was friendly, and service was excellent. They bring your food to your table when its ready, not when your server can get back to the kitchen, so we had other folks deliver our appetizers and dinner, but our server was always right behind checking on us. We decided to try to warm lobster tacos as an appetizer and they just werent what we expected - they were good, but the lobster was cold, and the lobster doesnt really stand out with all the other flavors. Our meals (the steak and haddock) were excellent, but the dayboat haddock described "spicy sausage succotash", and I could find no sausage. It also had these green -colored beans (edamame?) that hadnt been in the description. Dont get me wrong, I ate every bite, but, again, it just wasnt what I expected. My husband had the steak frite, and it was exactly as described, he loved it, and he brought home his fries and salad. I was ogling other patrons meals - they looked good, the pizza looks yummy. You should give it a try.

Perhaps my expectations were high because its a nice atmosphere. Also, came for a concert so giving an extra star as it becomes more of a banquette set up (which they didnt pull off too well). We arrived early so wasnt busy at all when we ate so would have expected better. Average food. "Large cut rib" had a wide bone but cut so that the meat itself was thin. The seasonal vegetable was winter squash and would have been pretty good except it was on the same plate swimming in the au jus. Also, it covered some of the rib thereby making both less enjoyable where they overlapped. Weird service - hard to describe. For example the server would take your order (app, dinner, desert, etc.) but walk away suddenly before you could ask for a drink. My advice if you see a show here - eat somewhere else or just stick to something like pizza or a burger. We spent way too much money for apps and dinner ahead of the show.

My family had Easter dinner for the fifth year in a year and will not be coming back. Have always had the best ham dinner, other than cooking myself. Even last year when the ham was not available because of the fire at the butchers farm, we were pleased with alternative offerings. This year, to be served a little spoon of mashed potatoes and butternut squash under a slab of ham(were you trying to hide the lack of vegetables available) was not appealing either to the eye or the price you charged for such small portions. Have always raved about your Easter ham dinner to anyone that would listen. Not again. You have lost a family for Easter and Thanksgiving dinner as we dont dare be disappointed anymore. Your chef, we were told by our waitress, was trying out a new look. Stick to what worked in past.

Delicious and unique dishes. In the past weve gotten chilli pizza and a smores inspired cake with marshmallow whipped cream. So good and hard to explain. It was a completely unexpected dish and the deserts change once every 2 weeks (I think). Photis below is the lobster bisque with a decent amount of lobster meat with a rich creamy soup and a fried crab meat burger. Incredibly messy, but also delicious. Music is often playing in tbe restaurant as well as shows in another room. The theme of the restaurant is revolutionary war. Extra parking is across a covered bridge with white christmas lights.

Ive been coming here for years. Im a fan of Blues and Roots music, so this venue is right up my alley! The food is always decent- sometimes great, sometimes not- but always decent. I will be dining again on October 8 when the lovely Shemeka Copeland takes the stage. I also just heard that Barrett Anderson & Sacred Ground will be opening up the show! Id say within a year, they will be headlining their shows here. Anyway, excited for that night.

I went for the first time to the Bull Run last Wednesday night and altho it was a quiet night at the restaurant, our service was impeccable. I had the Ceasar Salad wrap and I have to say it is the best I have had (and since it is one of my favorite meals, I have had them throughout downtown Boston). My fellow diners all enjoyed their meals immensely and I cannot wait to go back.
