Update:3-2013 I thought they may have got their act together so I returned for another meal tonight. I ordered the Sashimi Special. OMG! As unlikely as it seems, this place has gotten worse! Wiki defines sashimi as: "very fresh raw meat" Fresh Taste of Asia defines it as, fake crab meat, fried egg and over cooked shrimp!!?? When I pointed the non sashimi out to the Chinese manager, he smiled and charged me full price. The food was garbage! These people dont even know what Sashimi is!! Go to Beverly, anywhere, but dont eat in this place, unless you like to eat fake Japenesesque cuisine. I have ordered sashimi in places as diverse as Hong Kong, South Africa, Tokyo and London and this place is the WORST! Give it a wide berth! Original review: I have been going to this place for a couple of years and the sushi was always OK..not great. but recently they seem to have fired a bunch of staff and now the place is ABYSMAL! The Sashimi Deluxe was a joke..a few pieces of fish strewn on a plate. I had to call the owner over to explain that there was nothing deluxe about these few pieces of Sashimi. He hurriedly enhanced the platter. There was no soy sauce, no waiters, no plates.. I had to scrounge soy sauce from one of the tables (I was at the sushi bar). The only thing worse than the service was the loud and obnoxious music that made holding a conversation a struggle. I have been a regular..never again. Folks:? Give this place a great big MISS!

OMG, we never had any Asia food that bad; and they are not cheap either. We ordered 1 Chinese dish (Tropical taste Chicken), 1 Thai dish (Pad Thai) and 1 Singapore curry noodle dish. They all taste terrible and we barely ate any of them (We are American-Asian couple that very often enjoy trying new food and very familiar with Asia food). We should know when we walked in the restaurant on Saturday lunch time and we were the only customers. By the way, they dont serve ice tea at this Asia restaurant either! The restaurant should change the name to "Bad Taste of Asia".

My friend had a Groupon and invited us to dinner. We checked out some of the reviews and were wary about going but we were pleasantly surprised. It was an attractive space. There were TVs tuned to sporting events but no volume and easily ignored. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. The food was fresh and tasty but not otherwise remarkable. Prices and portions were average for a dinner in Salem. Although I wouldnt go out of my way to go here again I would go here again if in the neighborhood. Did not deserve the bum rap in some of the other reviews I read.

Quality is ok but not for the price. The worst part was last time I was there the waitress wrote in her own tip! We were just a party of 3 (and we ordered off the menu with no special requests). We would have given the tip she wrote in (20%) but it was the principal of her coming over and telling us she already wrote in the tip.

This has the best Chinese food I have ever had. This place is never too crowded and has nice ambiance. The service is a little slow but if you’re with good company, that shouldn’t matter. Don’t go starving, go hungry and the wait won’t affect you.

Expensive for what you get. Extra 2 dollars charge for each sashimi order does not make sense. I hope there is another Japanese restaurant opening some time soon in Salem. With better menu, service and prices!!! There is a need!

Service is excruciatingly slow paricularly when its slow (how can that be). Food is ok but they scimp with take-out - be sure to ask for extra ginger with sushi orders or you will be disappointed.
