I feel like this place is hit or miss and we seemed to come at not the right time. On our travels through the Berkshires we were looking for a breakfast place and we were delighted when we saw this place. Super cute decorated with log cabin feel and old time memorabilia with funny signs that talked about grumpy customers, etc. We waited to be seated and were passed by many times and looked at by the waitresses, none of which said a word to us. It got to the point that we werent sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves or what. Again the waitresses buzzed by us without saying anything. Granted they were busy but not even a hold on a moment? Finally we said wed give it a minute. During this time the older waitress finally said she was going to seat us at a table. Fortunately we got the younger, nicer waitress who came over once we were seated and apologized for the wait. She got our drink order in right away. The young girl helper her bus tables and bring us drinks was probably about 8 years old, if not younger. It was cute but odd to have a young girl working without anyone monitoring her. The 8 year old was the one who brought our milks and she slammed them down so hard that chocolate milk sprayed and was spilled on the table and she just walked away. So we had to clean up the mess. Thats when the Aw its cute shes helping quickly wore off. Our waitress promptly came over and got our orders. My husband ordered 2 pancakes and she advised him they were plate size so he downsized to 1. Great advice because it was huge and he almost couldnt finish. I wasnt crazy about my French delight sandwich, bacon and cheese on French toast as a sandwich at least not for $8. Seems like many locals come here, but that doesnt mean much, not too many other options out there. Breakfast on the more expensive side, depends on what sides or extras youd like. Pros: nicely decorated, food comes quickly, our waitress was nice Cons: service (getting ignored and 8 year old bussing tables and spilling drinks... Weird)

Wow, what a friendly diner. You know you are no longer in CT "Land of The Frozen Chosen". People are friendly, look you in the eye and smile. They also open doors and are very polite. Life is not in a hurry! Feels like home, Im a Mainer and CT could never feel like home. Upstate NY, here I come. The diners food is good & so is the coffee, its the people that make me look forward to every visit. I sit down, enjoy my coffee on the porch and read my several news papers. Even the dogs are friendly.

Very popular local place. Food was very good but the service was poor. I assume it was an isolated issue.
