The food was acceptable, I would rate it 3 stars on a scale from 1 to 5. However, last Friday morning (09/30/2016), I had a strange encounter with one of the table cleaning employees. She said she was Polish, although no accent detected. She embarrassed herself by being loud and neurotic in the middle of the diner, and like that wasnt enough, she engaged into a very unusual conversation with me. I tried to be polite and went along because I preferred not to escalate her psychosis. Even though her job is menial, she should have been more professional. After all, thats her job. As a psychiatrist I would strongly advise the A & J owners to check employees and future employees mental health background as it is important for the business. I went there to have a peaceful breakfast on my day off... After what happened, I will never go back to the A & J Restaurant again.

My boyfriend and I love this cute little diner. Theres not much going on in Plainville, but this is one place to definitely stop in for breakfast. The staff is friendly and after two visits they began to recognize us immediately. As soon as we walk in they know what we want for drinks and stop over to our table to get our order. The food is a good selection of typical foods you would find at a diner. Ive never had any of their lunch items, but their breakfast food is very good, comes is a good portion size, and even their coffee is delicious (not sure how its any different than any other diner but I really enjoy the coffee they serve here). This is a great place to go on a weekend for breakfast - even if its busy youll get seated pretty quickly. Support a local business and try out A & Js!

A&J is our go-to Saturday morning breakfast place. The food is always delicious, there is more than enough of it, and the staff is ALWAYS friendly, smiling and courteous. Its family owned and operated and it shows in how many customers return. The waitresses are on a first name basis with almost everyone and even remember exactly what you want to drink and how you drink it. Their omelets and homemade blueberry muffins are the best, but my husband prefers their waffles and crispy bacon. I have never had a bad meal there. Check it out!

Food is great. Huge portion sizes if your extra hungry (not joking like a pancake is the size of a dinner plate). Great waitresses and such a lovely cute atmosphere. I sugggest on cold day requesting to sit somewhere not near the door because when the door opens it lets in the cold air. All in all great restaurant. Has never let me down

Went there on Sunday morning with 2 friends, waited 15 minutes for coffee, 5 minutes later they took our order, 45 minutes later we still didnt have our food. We watched as numerous people came, ate and left. Finally had enough and left, never again.

Food is subpar. Staff is attentive. They cant even make fluffy scrambled eggs, the easiest thing to make instead you get flat slimy eggs that they try to call scrambled
