Went for the first time with a fellow vegan/friend who was in from Florida, and had been already a few times. Id heard wonderful things about Walnut Grille and I must say, the overall experience far exceeded my expectations, which are based upon regional, .vegan options. Im always sorry to say that most of the best vegan dining experiences Ive had are in NYC and San Fran, not the Boston area. Walnut Grille is the kind of place you would expect to find in NYC. The ambiance and decor was simple yet elegant. The plate presentation was wonderful. The service was friendly, efficient, non invasive (something I always appreciate) and professional. The food was pretty and delicious. Flan and Creme Brulee were my favorite desserts in my pre-vegan, vegetarian and pre-vegetarian days. As a seasoned baker/dessert maker myself, Im a pretty tough critic of the vegan versions of most any dessert. While the best vegan flan Ive experienced thus far is in San Fran, Walnut Grille makes, hands down, the best vegan creme brulee, Ive ever had! Walnut Grille will not be able to exist on merely its vegan/vegetarian audience alone. I encourage vegans/vegetarians and omnivores alike to visit Walnut Grille as often as you can for upscale, flavorfull, organic offerings which will not dissapoint. Places like this need all of our support.

Overall its a really nice place. Shared the arancini (rice balls) and cauliflower appetizers. The cauliflower were great and wouldnt definitely go back for them. The rice balls were good too, but would likely try another next time. Has the tandoori tofu for dinner with quinoa and broccoli. It was good too but the tofu was a bit softer than I expected for the form it was in and I just wished there was more sauce. The broccoli and quinoa were good but pretty plain (which wouldve been great balance if there was a bit more flavor on the tofu and/or more sauce). Tried a bite of my friends sweet potato (with arugula and red bell peppers) pizza and that was pretty tasty too. Would go back. Everything on the menu looked great and it was wide range of American, Asian (Indian/Thai), and European style foods done vegan and vegetarian.

Went here for a buffet to benefit the Humane league. Everything I tried was pretty great. Granted I didnt even see the menu. We just went up and ate some of everything. The polenta could have been a bit moreoist but the cake was great. Would be interested in traveling here not under the pressure to leave quick or anything else next time due to the event. We were right at the door so we were the first table people saw as they came in and waited to be seated. So that added more pressure on top of waiting for Andrea lol. But overall good experience, just hope to experience it more deeply next time with a casual visit. Shout out to the car with the Bernie sticker on their car along with an Obama. Dont care too much about the Obama but Ive been feeling the Bern since the beginning.

Ive dined here 4-5 times, usually for lunch. Meals have been very good: nice selection, fresh ingredients, sizable portions, pleasant atmosphere, good service. Id go more often, if I lived nearby. My main quibble is the surcharge for vegan cheese on many items, which bothers me at a place that explicitly caters to vegan clientele (whereas, it wouldnt bother me at a neighborhood pizza place). Charging extra to add Daiya acts as a barrier to folks who might otherwise opt for a totally plant-based meal. (And does it really cost so much more than a decent-quality animal-based cheese?)

My husband and I traveled about 45 minutes to eat here for our date night (on a Saturday night) and while the food, ambiance, and friendliness of the servers was great we felt really rushed. It took us longer to drive there than to be served and eat an entire meal from appetizer to dessert. I was looking forward to a lingering meal but it was made very apparent that we werent meant to stay. As soon as our forks were put down a server was there to whisk away our plates. The food was good but Im not sure I would eat there again because of the rushed service.

I kind of dont want anyone to know about this place so I wont have to wait to get in. We loved it so much we went there for dinner AND brunch the next day. We are always on the lookout for vegan "cuisine" meaning really creative and delicious food and this place is by far the best place in Boston weve found thusfar. Every thing weve eaten there was amazing. Furthermore they have gluten free pancakes and WAFFLES, which were amazing. Even my died-in-the-wool bacon-eating friend loved the good. Try the chocolate souffle. Its to die for.

Awesome vegetarian food around Boston area. Really nice ambience, tasty and healthy quality food, friendly staffs, magician chefs, and unique menu. Went for my bday party last night and tried most of the menu items but chocolate soufflé was extraordinary. GObi manchurian and drums of heaven are must try. Polenta nepolian and figs oyster pizza were unique and delicious. Highly recommended and I would definitely Go back.

Some of the menu items names do not do them justice- the "Mushroom Pepper Salt" doesnt sound especially exciting, but the thin, crispy battered mushrooms that came out were awesome. The entrees servings are generous, and the Nutty Tofu was very good, though might have been a little better if it was non-vegan and the gravy had cream or butter in it. Welcoming service and a nice atmosphere.

walked in and the three of us were the only ones waiting. we were told they were waiting for a party to leave. the party left and they put a reserved sign on the table for a party of 6 amd told us that our 10 minute wait which was now 35 mibutes would be upto an hour. the service here has not always been great but this sucked. i will have to rethink ever coming back here.

Best Sweet Potato Fries Ever! Great veggie/vegan food, kinda all over the map, as far as different tastes. And thats good; theres lots to choose from. The Cajun Seitan sandwich was really good. Also, Ive had a lot of sweet potato fries. Again, these were easily the best Ive had, crunchy outside, soft in the middle, with great homemade barbecue sauce.

I love the food here. I recently discovered the Bombay Bowl but there are other favorites. The desserts - when I eat them - make you think you are watching When Harry Met Sally. They are to die for and the list is long but the Strawberry Syllabub is my current favorite. If you get the Chocolate Souffle, mix in the ice cream, I love it that way.

This is one of the first veg-only restaurants I ever visited. In the four+ years Ive been coming here my experiences have only gotten better. The food is delicious. The Chipotle soy fingers are my favorite app. The servers are friendly and nice! Brunch can be busy though so go early!

This place is great! Several excellent dishes, with amazing specials, a good selection of juices, smoothies and alcohol (depending on your preference) and cute decor. We loved the food so much we asked them to cater our baby shower (and have been back several times, of course).

My son and I (both vegan) are visiting from Israel and were thrilled when are friends treated us to dinner here. The options are endless and mouthwatering, the service quick and friendly, the food tasty and filling. Its a bit pricey, but worth a "once in a while" night out.
