After reading many of the reviews for this restaurant, I had high expectations that it would be good. I checked out the menu and thought the prices were high but I figured it would be worth it to have good chinese food. However, both my boyfriend and I left very disappointed. We dined in and started off dinner by ordering crab rangoons and peking raviolis. Both of which were good. Finding a decent crab rangoon is hard to come by and I thought theirs came close to beating my favorite crab rangoon (Blue Orchid in Westwood - they are fanntasticc!). The water at the table tasted nasty - maybe it is just mansfield water but regardless I had to order a soda. Which I never was asked if I wanted a refill even though it was empty half way through the meal. For entrees, we ordered the orange flavored chicken and the strange flavored chicken. The orange flavored chicken was not spicy nor did it even have any orange flavor to it. My boyfriend had the strange flavor chicken and he thought it was just OK. Overall - sub par food with terrible customer service. An unattentive waitress who barely visited the table and did not have a positive attitude. Will most likely not go back.

Yes, the Cheng Du of Mansfield, MA was a hidden jewel for many years. But, in the past several years it has been exposed as the best restaurant in the area. Their customer service exceeds all others with fine food, great drinks, exceptional wait staff and an owner whose has put his life into providing the best to all! I challenge anyone to stop by and say they did not enjoy the food and friendly atmospere of the staff. I am so happy that I moved to Mansfield 20+ years ago and found this restaurant in its early years. However, with the renovations and updates...the only thing that changed was the ambiance....the food remained the same. Dont miss a chance at excellent food and fun drinks!

Ridiculous service. I called in for a delivery. The guy said it was going to take 45 minutes, so i waited. After 55 minutes, i called in and the guy said "i dont know. I guess the driver is on his way." Then, i asked, "How long would be the waiting time?" and he literally said, "I DONT KNOW. I DONT CARE. JUST WAIT." I asked him if he talks like that to all the customer and he just hung up. I called in again and he said, "You want the food or not" This is a shocking experience. THE WORST I HAVE EVER SPOKEN TO. SUCH AN IGNORANT PERSON. I WILL NEVER USE THIS PLACE AND I WILL LET EVERYONE KNOW ABOUT THIS.

The food is most often very good, but I have had some of the worst service I have experienced in a restaurant. It is hit-or-miss in that regard. And I agree with the reviewer who said the restaurant can be quite chilly. I went with my sister, and we asked to sit by the window, and the host said "no" and seated us next to a large party with lots of kids. Within 15 minutes, another party of two came in and were seated by the window. Bizarre. I have been here quite a few times, because the food keeps me coming back, but now I will only order take-out.

In terms of service, quality of food, and atmosphere; Cheng-Du is a wonderful experience. The staff is friendly and hard working. The dining room is clean and intimate. Buffet is worth it and the menu is classy. Cost is reasonable considering the high quality of food.

They dont deliver before 4pm. Which is unbelievable... I placed my 1st order with them the night beforehand and wanted their lunch special while at work. Losing a customer since I dont live in area and cant get my food delivered while Im at work.

We went here based on solid recommendations. Unfortunately, when we discovered the spring roll had shrimp, the staff would not take it back "because [we] had cut into it". Overall a negative experience with average to below average food.

Tried Cheng-du for the first time, picked up a take-out order. Theyre very friendly, easy to talk to. Food was good, just got the standard apps, crab rangoons, etc. It was good, no complaints. Ill definitely go again.
