Officially the WORST restaurant meal Ive ever had. After reading glowing reviews here I was really looking forward to trying Dalat. As an event planner, I was also scoping out restaurants for future events that I host in the area. So- I stopped in for an early dinner around 4 pm on Wednesday Sept 4th. The restaurant looked very nice: clean, upscale, fresh flowers on all the tables. I was looking forward to a great dining experience. WRONG. I ordered the "Himach" ($16, if I remember correctly) which sounded interesting and healthy. The menu describes it as grilled yellowtail atop fresh mango and black beans. My meal arrived. It was a beautifully-decorated plate- but thats the only thing about it that was appealing. There was no mango or black beans in sight. Instead, this "meal" consisted of a 2-inch molded circle of white rice. On top of that was a small round tortilla-looking thing (I guess that was what the menu described as a "raviolli skin"). Thinly smeared on that was about a half teaspoon of an unidentifiable spread. I counted 4 or 5 TINY orange specks in this (was this meant to be the "mango"?). On top of that were 4 very small pieces of fish (about a bite and a half each). I bit into one of them and it tasted like pure fat. YUCK. To his credit, the waiter noticed me picking incredulously at this "meal" and came over to ask if everything was ok. I explained why it was NOT, and he graciously offered to bring me something else. Thinking this must have been just a fluke after all the great reviews I had read online, I ordered the pineapple chicken. Then the second "meal" arrived. This time, it was about 1 cans worth of *CANNED PINEAPPLE*, with a few pieces of red onion and a FEW slivers of chicken (could not have amounted to more than 1/4 of a chicken breast, if that). Instead of sending this back, too (which is what I should have done!) I stupidly ate some of it - (I was by this time pretty hungry). I did confirm w/the waiter, though, that it was indeed CANNED pineapple. He suggested I may wish to speak w/the manager. A young man who said he was the owner (I later found out he was the owners son) came over to my table. I politely gave him feedback on these 2 "meals", told him how much I had been looking forwad to eating in his establishment, how disappointed I was, and asked whether perhaps there was a substitute chef on today (?) He replied that this was the regular chef, and had excuses for everything. He said they always used canned pineapple, and that hed never before heard any complaints about portion size, and that there was no fat in himachi (what did I bite into then???) He did not offer an apology, another meal that was edible, or at least a comp for the pineapple chicken (half of which was still on the plate in front of me). So, I walked away $15 poorer, still hungry, and with a disgusting taste in my mouth. I tried to love Dalat and gave them every opportunity to prove to me that my experience was an anomoly. Why are there so many great reviews posted online??? I can only conjecture that I ordered the wrong thing (TWICE??) , that people in Hull have no taste, or that the people writing these "reviews" are not actual customers. In any case, I have no plans to return or to send any of my guests there- not just because of the food, but because of their poor customer relations. VERY disappointing. Save your hard-earned money and have a pizza on the beach instead.

Excellent sushi, love the sushi bar. Very good service, nice decor, its our preferred Asian food venue, as long as its not a Friday or Saturday night when you usually have at least a 45 minute wait. RIght across from Nantasket Beach, weve been coming for as long as theyve been open (15-20 years maybe?) Dalat is consistently good.

This is the best place to get food. Doesnt matter what youre looking for this is the place. Amazing bartenders. Best sushi chefs. Top notch kitchen. If you dont go here youve given up. Youre not that old. Youre not that young. Come join the Dalat team. Tell momma, Jason sent you.

Amazing. The quality of the fish cannot be matched by any other sushi restaurant in this price range. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious and the staff if friendly. I had my wedding dinner here and they did a great job at a very reasonable price.

This place is not your average Asia restaurant! The staff is friendly, the food is phenomenal and the presentation is spectacular! I have done a lot of traveling and eaten much sushi, but this by far has the best sushi I have ever had!

Very intimate, rich and exotic floral arrangements, reasonably priced. The food we had was nicely presented and flavorful. The staff was attentive to my food allergy. Plenty of street parking, okay bathroom. I will definitely return.

Wouldnt recommend another restaurant on the South Shore over this. Sushi Pizza is a must! Great creative spin on dishes with unbelievably high quality sushi and drinks! Great friendly family run restaurant!

Fast, good service and great food. It can be a little bit of a wait during busy dinner hours although they have options to include a separate bar, sushi bar, and dining areas along with take-out.

Food is excellent, especially the sushi and sashimi, the Mai tais are made with lower grade rums and Mai tai mix, the bar staff was exceptionally rude, but the rest of the staff was excellent

A southeast Asian gem on Nantasket. A huge number of options, full sushi bar, and a drink menu that features some delicious old school tiki drinks. The physical menu is a work of art!

Food is ok, nothing fancy. The bass reminded me of fish and chips. I dont recommend the UDON noodles. There were a couple of flies in the restaurant that were annoying.

Definitely a local hotspot, but food was great. Service was questionable, but probably due to new waitstaff.
