The food was good, a couple things were a little bland but they balanced out thug other things that had more "kick" to them. I went with one other person, we ordered the peanut tea as an appetizer, the vegetarian platter for 2, and split a Besso for dessert. It was about $42 for both of us with tip, I think, she paid so I dont remember exactly. We left very full with enough leftovers for both of us to have lunch the next day. I gave it 4 stars because Ive had better Ethiopian food in the Boston area at other places, service was a little slow given that there werent too many people there and we arrived about an hour after they opened. If you take the T its convenient, right off the symphony stop, if you drive be prepared to search for parking for a while. We got lucky, there was a handicapped spot right across the street that we both needed.

Mostly a coffee house with some standard sandwich fare, Lucy also has several FANTASTIC ethiopian items on their very affordable, made to order menu. The chalkboard menu, full of fun factoids about Ethiopia, changes to offer regular customers a range of food over time. Potently flavorful, but not painfully spicy (though you can request a delicious homemade hot sauce if thats how you prefer it), most dishes come with spongy, slightly tangy injera bread to act as your primary eating utensil. They also have a room in the back where they offer elaborate Ethiopian coffee ceremonies. The owner and staff are so incredibly proud of what they do here, and they have every right to be. Fantastic hidden meal option in an area that is a surprising food desert when it comes to a quick, but real lunch

The food here is phenomenal! I really didnt think much of it when I saw the outside, but this is a hidden gem of Boston! The price is super affordable - a platter with all-you-can eat bread and three different dishes for EIGHT DOLLARS- and the owner is really friendly. Hes from Ethiopia and makes sure that you have everything you need. He brings as much bread as you need and will bring over some yogurt if anything is too spicy for you. I like the number 1 - I forgot what its called, but its a platter of three really delicious dishes ranging in flavor and spiciness. I recommend the peanut tea, too- its delicious! I always get a cup to go after my meal.

The worst Ethiopian food. Simple fact. In this restaurant only serve five to seven percent Ethiopia ns if you look around theres about 5 Ethiopia ns restaurants In Boston area. most of the time when you go inside other restaurant theres about 50 to 60 percent Ethiopia ns.This tell you it doesnt matter what kind of ethnic restaurant it is. There own people dont like to eat there why should I eat there. Its shows food really really sucks. very disappointing try the other restaurants

I cant comment on the food because we didnt have any. Went on a Saturday night for dinner. There were a few open tables and we were brought right back. it was very hot, no AC. We sat for 20 minutes and werent even greeted by a server, no water, nothing. I could understand if they were busy but there was staff going around bussing empty tables when there wasnt even anyone waiting for a seat, very poor service. Went to another Ethiopian place and had a great time.

I would come here for the AROMA alone. Open the door to the little Lucy, and you are hit with these deep warming spices, and the food does not disappoint. We liked the vegetarian Addis combo, and the Lega Tibs (beef). The traditional (spice infused) tea is also phenomenal. Plus, its pretty cheap, and their injera is well balanced, nicely spongy, and not too sour.

The traditional tea was a taste You need to try. We ordered the #1 and #8 off the chalkboard wall menu at a really reasonable price, then enjoyed the art for sale on the walls. What a cool place this is...and the fella working was super polite. The spices were just right, food was the perfect temperature, and healthy. I will go back.

The chef even introduced himself to us. Again, very friendly as everyone else seems to claim. This was my first experience trying Ethiopian food, and I am grateful to have a great experience. This little cafe is wrapped in a cultural ambient setting, with beautiful Ethiopian artwork and music. Unique. Great value, too. Give it a shot!

Friendly cook/server. Seemed like a one man show when we got there. We were a bit nervous about making it to a play, but it all worked out in the end. Relied on proprietor for for eating and ordering suggestions. It all worked out. Definitely a worthwhile experience. Very healthy seeming cuisine and full of interesting flavors.

Good food, though even when you ask for spicy, its not that spicy. They dont serve on traditional dishes with the injera on the bottom of the plate. Portions are also slightly smaller than Im used to, and prices are a bit high. But for convenience and decent tasting food its great, and I love easy access Ethiopian.

The dish I ordered was supposed to be spicy but was in fact the saltiest food ever. The gauze bread was strange but not bad. The lega tibs were as expected. The best thing on the menu is the peanut tea which is actually hot water mixed with peanut butter (Made the same thing at home once).

Menu lacks classic Ethiopian dishes, which is disappointing. Waitress forgot my order after realizing I had been waiting for over 20 min. The appetizer was not traditionally seasoned. Overall not a horrible experience, though doesnt compare to more traditional restaurants in area.

Oh...My....God! I love this quaint little restaurant located right next to the Symphony T station. Because of this restaurant, I love lentils. The bread here is like nothing I"ve ever eaten before. I cant wait to take my husband to my favorite restaurant Lucys!

VERY friendly staff, Top notch food-- the best Ethiopian Ive had (and Ive had a decent amount) and maybe the best restaurant food Ive had in the last 2 years. Family and kid friendly. Vegan friendly. SOOOO tasty. AND great prices. Cant go wrong!

We ordered Ethiopian Beyayinetu, and it has all the side dishes that I have expected but it lacked that Ethiopic taste of Beyayinetu. The service is good, but lacked that Ethiopian vibe also. Overall, it is not a bad place for non-Ethiopian.

A very interesting experience trying Ethiopian food. Try going with a group and ordering multiple dishes. Also try their peanut tea! Staff was very nice and helpful with choosing dishes and on how to eat the food (no utensils here!)

So tasty and inexpensive! Hidden gem. I told all my friends to try the peanut latte. So delicious. They always allow us to mix a meat dish with a vegetable platter. Great date night. Go to bubble tea afterwards.

New to ethiopian food but I LOVED this spicy dish and delicious honey drink. Would eat here again and again. Very ambient and authentic. Comfortable but not for the entirely timid.

Absolutely no idea how to manage crowd. Setting wrong expectations of wait time, was told 20 mins for a table but ended up waiting for more than 40 mins and still no table.
