WOW! My fiance has been wanting to try Koy since it opened, so a few of us popped in on a Thursday night. The place has a nice vibe with modern decor. We sat at a high top in the bar area. Patrick the bartender AND 2014 Boston Magazines Mixologist winner was very knowledgeable of not only the cocktails, of course, but the menu and Korean style food. If you like tequila they infuse their own with Thai Chilies for up to 7 days... WOOHOO! Patrick was very accommodating answering all of our questions about the food... yes we were THOSE people. We ordered the cheese stake dumplings because come on you cant pass that up, those were delicious! A couple of us shared the hot stone bibmbap which was AMAZING! and plenty of food for two. The Japchae was awesome as well. Dan the owner stopped by to chat with us, he is great! He shared how we should eat the food and also recommended a traditional dessert that he loves, the patbingsu... everything from red beans to gummie bears and fruit are included in this shaved ice, icecream sweet treat. Its huge so share it. The service was terrific we felt welcome and taken care of, the food is delicious and the vibe is fun! Ask to chat with Dan or Patrick they will treat you right!

Everything is fantastic. Service is phenomenal and the food and drink is top notch. The host (Daniel?) is great and very friendly. Highly recommend this establishment for small and large groups. As for food I had the hot stone Bibimbap for dinner, I loved the mixture of vegetables and the presentation of the dish. It is very nicely presented. I also had one of the best desert around, the ice cream(coconut) with the caramelized banana. Yum!! The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. The host came to me and asked how the food was few times. You could tell it was very important to him that I was enjoying my experience. It was best Korean food I had! It was really amazing! The portion are generous for the price we paid around Boston area. I would definitely come back soon.

This place is not bad and pretty fun if you want to try creative Korean inspired fusions, but its not the best place for authentic Korean food. They divide the menu into traditional Korean or modern/fusion. They use spicy mayo or sweet/sour sauce in a lot of the dishes - its tasty but you see that thats their schtick. For the area (downtown, near Freedom Trail) the price is right and its a more interesting food option than most of the boring chains in the area, though. Its not the cheapest but on the other hand its not overly expensive. I did like the octopus dish. The whole fried fish was OK but a little bit dry/overcooked. If anything, our favorite was the coconut ice cream that came with the toast dessert! My friend actually ordered an extra scoop of the ice cream.

wow, what a great place. Korean fusion place right across the street from Faneuil Hall. We got the carnitas dumplings, the octopus and the bibimbap. As other reviewers have said the octopus is great, even if you dont like octopus. It had a dense texture, almost like swordfish. Great drinks too. DW has dietary issues and mixed drinks can get complicated but they made her something that worked for her and was delicious. Not authentic Korean food, but, great flavors, really great space and super clean. Great service too. So much of Faneuil Hall is a wasteland of mediocre tourist trap restaurants. Please, walk past them all, and get a great meal at Koy instead. Well be back soon.

Dined at Koy for the first time on Tuesday evening, and we really enjoyed every aspect of the dinner. It was a group of five friends that has been scattered around the world, and Koy turned out to be the perfect choice - quiet enough for good conversation, but a really cool and vibrant scene. And the food was excellent. We got to meet Danny, the owner, who talked to us about the menu and the concept. Some great fusion dishes and some really cool authentic, truly Korean options too - something for everyone. We ordered quite a number of things, and really enjoyed it all. Highly recommend. Will be back.

On my vacation to Boston it was my first time going there and it was the closest place I was to grab a bite so I was like why not.Big mistake, the food was horrible it had no flavor. My shrimp soup only had 2 shrimps what is that!? We ordered to go and we were standing inside. They had the nerve to tell me friend she cant stand to take a seat she refused so server told to wait outside. I found that really rude we were not in anyones way. I do not recommend at all. Go across the street to the the food court instead many options.(what I found out later on).

Oh a whim, I changed our plans and headed to Koy for the first time. We went for lunch on a Saturday. It wasnt busy and the service was friendly and attentive. We started with the cheese steak dumplings (hot and crunchy) and the cauliflower steaks (surprisingly flavorful). My party of 3 shared the Angry Chicken and the Japchae. Both were good though I liked the Angry Chicken more for the crunchiness. It was definitely not too hot. The Japchae was tasty with lots of sesame oil. Next time, well probably get one more appetizer or plate to feed our crew.

Had a pretty wonderful meal here last night, unusual Korean-influenced modern Asian-Fusion, with some surprising standouts like the cauliflower steak and the vegetarian dumplings. Menu has a range of things to accommodate lots of different food preferences like GF or vegetarian, and service was smooth and warm, acoustics on this quiet night permitting easy conversation, something rare in the Faneiul Hall area. The spicy tequila cocktail "El Pazzo" was instantly popular at the table. Highly recommended.

This review is for the "Traditional" Korean menu. The Bulgogi and Kalbi are insanely, R I D I C U L O U S L Y over-priced. The bulgogi is not at all authentic and comes with only a tiny serving of kimchi, no other banchan, nor accompanying little soup. Theres nothing traditional about this dish either -- super bland and loaded with fillers (?!?!!!). I might stop by to try their fusion fare but never again for their so-called "traditional" stuff.

Lokal czysty i ładnie urządzony, szybka i miła obsługa. Jednak dość drogo i małe porcje. 18$ za "zupę z kluskami" i krewetki to dobra cena ale nie, jeśli to są 2 malutkie krewetki :/

Absolutely outstanding service and the food is delicious! Kaitlyn was super friendly and the owner was really nice to come out to see how everything was. A very nice family run restaurant, and a must stop for anyone in Boston. We ordered the Appas Spicy Udon, and the broth was out of this world. The bibimbap is the best I have ever had. Dont miss out!

Overpriced so so korean food. We ordered a bibimbop and a spicy organe chicken (forgot the name of the dish). Both items cost $4 -$5 more than what you can get around the Allston / Brighton area. Taste was just okay. You can have better tasting korean food in Brighton for a cheaper price. It was not worth it at all.
