Cabot Street in Beverly, in my opinion, is one of the most underrated restaurant venues to explore in the North Shore. With that said, one needs to experience Barrel House American Bar to understand why. The atmosphere is lovely with a touch of history dating to the prohibition era. The speak easy feel adds to the comfort and quality service that is provided. Servers are kind and have wonderful recommendations if you are unable to choose from the variety of foods and beverages offered on the menu. The best of the best though are the chefs and the bartenders. These guys can cook and can make a good drink. Do not be afraid to be adventurous in your food choices and try not to get "the usual" here for each item is worth trying at least once. Your drinks will be artfully crafted with great patience and one to be remembered. The bartenders are knowledgable in their liquors and spirits and have great recommendations as to what drink should go with your meal. All in all if you wish to have a great date night or get a drink with a friend or have a giant outing to share a good time then visit Barrel House. You will not be disappointed.

One of, if not THE best place for cocktails on the North Shore. The bartenders are very creative and if they cant make your cocktail for you, maybe you shouldnt be drinking it. The food is quite eclectic, too. An interesting menu and well worth checking out. Finally, they have a very long table in the middle of the restaurant so dont be surprised if your hostess seats you next to strangers. You might find yourself striking up a conversation with the person next to you. I actually found this feature very unusual but also very charming.

Our favorite restaurant on the North Shore. Never had a bad meal there. The prices are fair considering how high quality the food is. They change the menu often depending on what is fresh. The staff is attentive and service is smooth. The one time our waitress forgot something we requested (ketchup for our fries), we were given two complimentary desserts. The place has always been clean and well maintained. Its always packed for a reason.

The Barrel House was highly recommended to us so we went on Fathers day. A warm and cozy place. We had a good experience from the foods selection and menu composition fairly priced, freshly made from local farms to the exquisite extensive beers, liquors, wines and cocktails selection. Also having a welcoming and attentive waitress was nice too!

The food here is fantastic and so is the atmosphere. i am a scotch lover and most of the time i drink it neat. they have some scotch drinks that they make like cry o the wind (which is my favorite) that are just amazing. never thought i would be ok with a place mixing good quality scotch with anything but they make it work.

I love this bar/restaurant. They are a little too upscale to go often but its worth the price. Their draft list is expansive and they have just about any spirit you could ask for. The food is great and the service is held to a pleasant standard. I would recommend this for any fancy date night.
