I would give this restaurant 0 stars if I could. We visited this restaurant with a very regular customer, where not only was she treated with blatant disregard, but the management handled the situation atrociously. We arrived at 6:30pm on a Friday, usually a packed time however on this Friday the restaurant was half full. Upon arriving, mistakes filled the air starting out with a failed cocktail request. After that, drinks--appetizers--and our entreés took exceedingly longer and longer to arrive (2 hours approximately). Not only were there exceedingly long wait times but there were mistakes within the order. It was only after asking for the whereabouts of our entreés that we will given attention. A new server unbenowest of us was selected as our waitress--a woman of middle-age who had an extremely horrid disposition. Throughout the night, the waitresss anger problems came to fruition, resulting in short responses and an overall aura of disrespect. Requests to fix our meals were completely ignored until we eventually had to talk to a manager. When we addressed the waitresss tone to the female manager on duty, she dismissed us completely and took the side of the waitress. Myself, my boyfriend and our friend all witnessed this behaviour, however, 3 objective views of the situation did not warrant causality from this abhorrent manager. She ensured that problems would be fixed, however, did not even come back to address the problems that occurred (we had asked for simple requests, but she did not follow through with filling them). Overall, the female manager was simply as bad as the waitress herself. Worse, for all the disrespect we received tonight, the waitress herself was too "proud" to even address us again. We received no apologies for the behaviour or mistakes of that night from the waitress. She could not own up to the fact she completely disrespected and embarrassed a customer who has been visiting this establishment for many years and giving the restaurant a lot of money. Our friend knows the owner of the restaurant quite well, and is extremely perturbed by the behaviour. To me, it is extremely odd that you would treat a repeat customer who frequents your business with this much refusal to admit wrongdoings. Dining is an experience. It is not only the food that is crucial but, a pleasant dining environment is important at such an expensive place. However, be warned that if you go to Il Casale again and continue to fuel their business by repeat visits--you will be treated with blatant disregard.

Liked the ambiance even though I ve heard from friends and saw reviews it gets noisy. We went for early dinner it was not bad at all. Service was very good..waiter a tad pretentious but not uncommon for upscale restaurant. My wife loved the Aranchini, I thought it was OK a bit too dry. The pork meatballs phenomenal.. their sauce too sweet. The pesto ravioli the star of our meal...wow what a sauce. The blemish was the half too crunchy seafood risotto ...too subtlety flavored for my taste and not creamy enough. Oddly the bottom part was creamy maybe made in two batches? Anyway the greater disappointment was being told to expect salmon trout and crab legs and getting smoked salmon instead. The result bland risotto with a hit of starkly salted smoked salmon. Flavor not congruent at all. Server politely asked my opinion. To relay to Chef. They took it off the bill. My replacement sausage broccolini on homemade pasta was very good... pasta perfectly prepared subtle but harmonious flavorful sauce. Very good meal overall just expected better risotto from a place of its very good reputation.

Went to dinner on Friday night, sat outside as it was a lovely evening. I had saved my gift card for a time I really wanted to relax and enjoy. First bad was being seated outside right next to their outside station which is in the alley way and all we could smell was a rotten drain. Then, being convinced to move from what I always have to eat there and to try their pea ravioli (love peas) which was so awful I ate one piece. The peas inside the ravioli were raw. While the drinks were great, everything else disappointed me so much. I usually love going there - I am still sooo disappointed. Even when my plate was cleared, and most of my meal was still on the plate, I was never asked how my dinner was. Our waiter was great in loading the drinks on, but other table cleaners were the ones refreshing everything. So sad, I wont be back in a hurry!!

Food was incredible, and I cant emphasize that enough. It made up for the completely horrible service that our waiter gave us. All of the servers were fantastic, but the waiter never made eye contact with us, would leave abruptly after pushing an item on the menu, and was only friendly towards the end when it was time to write out the tip. By that point it was so bad that it was amusing, so it did little to impact how nice the night was. Again, I do want to reiterate that every other person we encountered at the restaurant was fantastic. They more than made up for any lack of service given by our waiter. The other members of my party had been to the restaurant before and loved the service. Its worth giving it a try, and if the waiter happens to not be tip-top, just smile, grab another bottle of wine, and enjoy the delicious food.

S., March, 2012 Extremely noisy and crowded. We have gone 3 times and been disappointed each time. There is nothing remarkable about the pasta and sauces, and I have twice had salads that were inedible because they were dripping in syrupy sweet dressing--very strange in an Italian restaurant. My husband is not fussy and he too has been disappointed.

I attended a wedding reception here. The space is an old two doored fire station in downtown Belmont. The open doors and patio were a delight on a July evening. Despite the challenge of a 150 head wedding, the food was well prepared and tasty. The ravioli with peaches was a delightful surprise. The chocolate torta for dessert is not to be missed.

Ive been a few times and have really enjoyed this place. The homemade pasta is outrageously good, as is everything else. Try the calimari, which is cooked to perfection. Their fish dishes are great too. Dont expect huge portions but rather really high quality. The servers are also great. Good wine list and desserts.

Best. Pasta. Ever. We love this place! Feels like a taste of Spain! We especially love the fact that you can order half sized pasta dishes because you can order just half if you by super hungry or two halves if your indecisive. Would recommend.

Great atmosphere. Packed with diners on a Thursday evening. Attentive service who gave good advice on what to order. We split a pasta dish between four of us before ordering our entrees. A good way to try the pasta without eating too much.

We Love Il Casale. Having been to Tuscany, the food here is the closest to actually being there. The wait staff is friendly and the atmosphere is fantastic (although it can be a bit loud). Regardless it is worth the wait for a table.

Wow, for the high price of the food, this place is terrible. Not cozy, weak food, weak staff, overpriced. Actually its just not ever worth going to again. I want my 100 dollars back.
