The Loading Dock underwent a long transformation from a convenience store/ deli to a high end food emporium at really good prices. My wife and I wondered what was going on during the long construction and then stopped in one night after it opened during an evening walk. The owner was very friendly and invited us to sample a number of the prepared foods. Everything was excellent and he also mentioned that the bakery is features the works of a talented and experience french baker. Its a convenient location for us with lots of easy parking (and right of the bike trail coming from the Alewife T station to Belmont). I have become a regular since the coffee is great and I do love baked goods. Less often I buy lunch or other items for dinner at home and am always really pleased. Since they sell bottled beer and wine and it has a nice selection, we have taken advantage of that although my wife still does her big wine shopping at her regular place. Last week when I was in picking up pastries and other baked goods to bring to a friends house (they were quite well received), the counter person mentioned that they were now serving Sunday brunch. I went by on Sunday and both my son (17) and I loved our meals. Its $10-15 for anything from a lamb burger to a Mediterranean eggs Benedict. Im reluctant to post about the brunch because I plan on becoming a regular for them and I dont want to have to wait too long for a table if it gets overly popular...

Got breakfast here a week ago. Service was ridiculous. Took us an hour and half in total for 4 people to get basic food, and there were only 2 other tables with people at them. Not to mention the waitress never brought us water. It took almost an hour just to get our food and we were sitting there with no water the whole time. We asked about it when we saw her which was once... The manager asked us about our experience. We were honest, and told him everything had taken wayyy too long. He blamed it on "the system going down"... First of all, if thats causing problems, why wouldnt you just tell us that while we were waiting for 45 minutes for egg and cheese sandwiches that were barely better than dunkin donuts, second, that doesnt explain why it takes 45 minutes to get us water when there were only 2 other tables...

This local secret is a foodies delight! Delicious Mediterranean style main dishes, fresh made salads and sides are served from the counter with yummy coffee drinks available near the register. Sundry grocery items are available as well especially now that they no longer sell liquor in a retail setting. They are in the higher price range and they lose one star for sometimes being overpriced plus the fact that its not very clear that there is a restaurant attached to the store unless you already know about it. Try the Mac and cheese, its super tasty when you can get it with the bread crumbs on top!

Based on other reviews, I was expecting quality similar to that of Sofra Bakery and Cafe, not far away. When I asked the server what the soup du jour was, she said "it means soup of the day" (of course!) but didnt know what it was. She found out and let me know. I ordered the soup du jour (chickpea, corn, avocado) and falafel plate for lunch. Both were OK but not exceptional. The falafel itself was quite dry. The space is airy and attractive. Hopefully the food will grow into it.

I went here for brunch and it was so good! I ordered a salad and a side of sweet potato fries that were both delicious. I encountered 5 different employees and they were all very friendly. Only two complaints, the dinning area where I first walked in was a mess and I got an order of regular fries instead of sweet potato fries at first. They did take the fries off our bill and gave me the right ones, so that was nice of them. I would go back again.

Expensive, but delicious homemade middle eastern deli/takeout food. Excellent beer and wine selection. Excellent coffee and baked goods area. Basically, they do a bunch of stuff pretty well. The place lacks coherence as a result, but you cant argue with the falafel wraps or the pastries. They have a restaurant area now and serve brunch, which was delicious. Service was mediocre, but our server was brand new, so probably a temporary concern.

Ordered the burger medium-rare. It was well done. Menu said it comes with caramelized onions. Mine arrived with limp lettuce and a slice of tomato. When I asked the server about the onions she took my plate away and it came back with some red onion slapped on. And the small bowl of yogurt I ordered for my 7 month old daughter cost 6$!!. Nice enough looking place if they sort out their service. And kitchen. And prices.

It took a long time for them to go from a convenience store to a market and restaurant but it was well worth the wait. The fresh deli and Mediterranean salads are always delicious, fresh made desserts are good too. Both the breakfast menu and sandwiches for lunch are excellent. They also carry a fairly good selection of wines and craft beer.

Great selection of prepared foods as well as Cheese, wine, beer and other sundries. They have an eat in section and an outdoor eating section for the warmer weather. They have a sunday brunch as well as prepared foods throughout the day which you can order. The staff are always very friendly and they often have samples.

Fantastic place for breakfast, and great spot for some really cool, unique grocery items (e.g. fresh hummus, deli dishes and great beer selection). I will definitely make this a regular stop. All run by a family who is really friendly and accommodating. Give this place a try! .

Found this place only because we were hungry and it was the first place we drove by. What a great find. We stopped in for a late lunch. Three of us ordered three different things and all couldnt be happier with the food we got. I wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often.

I love everything about the place! There is parking, its clean and the menu is wonderful. I had a good size group here and the food was top notch. (Brunch) They were very accomodating on such short notice. Everyone agreed we need to come back soon! We will try dinner!

Great food and sides to go. The recently added table service is not quite there yet, and the drink pricing is "Boston cocktail bar" level, which isnt great considering that I didnt see a single drink poured there, or even know if the servers are good bartenders.

Stopped here to get take out and stayed for Sunday brunch. Fantastic! Great coffee and the entrees were really good, none of us talked as we set about eating!! Friendly older gentlemen greeting everyone with a nice smile when we arrived. Highly recommend.

staff had the incorrect order at pick up, and claimed that there was no order. left me at front without trying to find a solution while assisting others. When i showed them the receipt, they said they finally made a mistake.

Deceptive name to a very Middle Eastern Cuisine! We just discovered it and are enjoying their heavenly lentil soup, delicious Baba Ghannouj and Chicken and Okra dish. So many other dishes to discover!
