Wow, What can I say but steer clear! I went to the Bluepoint because its 2 blocks from my house and been there forever. My grandparents talked about going there. For a place like this to survive it has to be good right? WRONG!! The cramped insides of this hole seem to be closing in on you. They have the nerve to say they can seat 60 people? Maybe in the parking lot. I should have known I was in for trouble when the appetizer came. It was Clams Casino and it stunk up the whole joint. My kids held there noses. I tried them but am seriously awaiting the food poisoning thats coming with this bad dish. All the while I looked down at the doorway of the kitchen that had a line of filth about 9 inches up the wall. For my main dish I ordered the seafood casserole which consisted of 5 scallops a small piece of scrod and 2 baked stuffed shrimp lightly dusted in breadcrumbs for $17. The breadcrumbs were hard to find. What happened to the casserole? It was just overcooked seafood in a dish. I would have washed it down with a drink but it never got refilled again after it was set on the table. All this lack of service with 3 waitresses and a bus boy serving 5 tables? There was no hesitation with the bill though. Before we could ask for another drink the bill arrived with a thanks folks as our waitress walked off to clean off all the empty tables! No "How was everything" of " Can I get you anything else?". And why were we being rushed? The place was half empty and it was several hours before they closed. I guess the bluepoint just doesnt like repeat business. Thinking of going here? BEWARE!!!

4 Stars: You have to be Kidding??? This restaurant is the worst> I went on Saturday, I havent been there in years and they use to have good seafood. First of all they expanded the restaurant: and the work they did is just OK, but it reflects in their prices> I couldnt believe how high their prices are: Do they thing they are the Mattapoisett Inn or some upscale restaurant. Most things are $15.00 and up. I almost walked out when I saw their prices, but I wanted fish & chips, so I ordered there small Fish & Chips. $9.75.. which is high compared to other places. When I got my order , I couldnt believe it! It was 1 small (and I mean small) piece of fish and about 12 fries...The fish was the worst I have ever tasted in this New Bedford area: the fish was overcooked and not fresh. There is no excuse for not serving FRESH fish in this Area! Even your Appetizers are $10.00 and up? My friend order the Appetizer shrimp Mozinbeque and got 4 Shrimp on a plate with sauce:and paid over $10.00... Crazy prices, Overcooked Food: and Lousy Service: Get rid of your cook and lower your prices (Or give more food, ) and maybe you would do better: I will never go there again. next time I want seafood I will take the drive and go to Fathoms on the Bridge

The Blue Point is a great place for lunch or dinner. You can always expect a quality meal, kind service and a comfortable place to enjoy the experience. Even though its a smaller place, they accommodated a family of 11--very impressive! My only criticism is for the salad I ordered. I had a large salad, made with mostly iceberg lettuce, with a couple of croutons, a couple of olives and tomatoes, with a few slices of cucumber. I think they couldve offered something with a healthy spring mix and a few other vegetables to make it interesting and filling. Other than the salad, the steak tips I had were good, and the service was outstanding.

Blue Point in Acushnet is by far the best restaurant to go to if you want great service, delicious meals, and just a fun place to stop by for a drink or an appetizer. I have not had a meal yet that I would complain about. Their clamboils are the best around! Stop by and see for yourself!

Everything is made from scratch and fresh. Prices are very reasonable and they make the best drinks. Not sure what some of the others are talking about, but dont let it deter you from coming. Very small so there is always a wait.

This is where the locals eat, so take their cue and do the same. We love the seafood here but honestly, everything is worth trying. There is a full bar, service is friendly, and the wait to be seated is worth every minute.

Food is always superb. Everything is fresh. Best clams Ive ever had, small and sweet. Owners are salt of the earth and wait staff are always efficient and friendly. My advice: dont pass this place by.
