This is the sister restaurant to J&Y just down (or up, depending on which way youre going) the street. Tao doesnt have the sushi selection that J&Y has and they focus more on entrees instead of sushi. The entrees are Pan Asian- Thai, Japanese, and Chinese. We had two rolls and two bowls of ramen. For the price, the ramen is okay but weve had much better ramen elsewhere. The sushi was excellent, as always. This place is more attractive and more intimate than J&Y- definitely more of a date night vibe here. The staff was more attentive, too. Everyone, including the guys behind the sushi bar, greeted us when we arrived and the manager came over during the meal to check if everything was fine. Like J&Y, Tao also gives a free sushi roll if you spend more than $20, I think. Ours was flounder and it was good. At the end of the meal, we got a coupon-spend $35 at your next dinner and get a free order of something (maybe crab tempura?), spend $60 and get two things... which I liked. If youre looking for sushi, go to J&Y. If youre looking for a date night dinner with an entree in a nicer atmosphere, go here.

The first time I had food Other than sushi here I tried some Pad Thai here and it was terrible. It was smelly, gooey, and cold. I was so upset that day. My family likes their sushi so I tried food again there to give it another chance. OMG you guys They served me microwaved chicken strips and they thought I would eat it just because of the nice flowers and oranges on it but it was like microwaved tasteless chicken breast strips with a river of cold teriyaki sauce on top. Of course I didnt eat it and they did nothing about it when I brought it up. I was trying to be quiet about it too to not embarrass them in front of costumers so I told the waiter softly but he asked me to say it louder and then when I did he just said "thats what you ordered". I was so upset because I was a loyal costumer I liked their sushi I brought my friends and family here for the sushi which is good for the prices. But other than sushi I had two awful dishes :(

Sure, its pricey and the location is less than Ideal, but if you enjoy sushi and want something a little more romantic than J&Y, this is where you need to go. Ive had several dates here and its been great everytime. I will say, knowing what you like in sushi will help eating here, and you will find you enjoy it much more. I personally hope they can manage to stay open as long as they can, often times I come in and the whole place is empty. Good for a quite date, but obviously bad for their own buisness.

This is a pleasant place to have dinner. Its not what I would call a large restaurant, and it isnt dinky, either. Theres a bar area near the entry for around 8 people, I estimate. Theres some bench seating mixed with tables. This is a newly renovated space in a location which has had a lot of turnover. I think Tao is a winner here. The orange chicken is always done correctly, with good portions and reasonable price. The waitstaff is spot on for whatever you need. I recommend Tao if you like Asian fare.

Extremely attentive service, immaculately clean and stylish interior, good food overall. The pork gyoza were truly outstanding, the miso soup was good, and the Thai chicken curry was well prepared yet unexciting. I have a feeling the curry was dulled a bit in anticipation of the typical Carroll County palate, which may or may not be a fair strategy given the restaurants location. I will be back to try other items that caught my eye but didnt have a chance to try.

I wish I could get as excited as the other Reviewers but sadly, this restaurant is Mediocre at best. My dinner companion and I started with the yellow tail sushi and found it to be bland and tasteless. Dinner of pad tai and a salmon dish were also very mediocre. On the plus side, though our waiter was extremely inexperienced, the owner/manager (? not sure) was very welcoming and hospitable. Too bad the food didnt impress - we wont be back.

From the owners of j&y sushi across town comes a new resteraunt with a greater variety and more comfortable seating. While this new business has a lot of charm and classy decor I think that it has really yet to set itself apart in menu from some of the other hibachi and Japanese resteraunt in the area. While the other location by this ownrr has the best sushi around I never find myself craving Tao specifically.

I literally come here every week when I can and keep bringing them more business! The staff is amazing and super appreciative! The manager has greeted and asked up how our meal was almost every visit and most of the lunch staff knows our drinks without having to ask. This place is a gem. My best friend and I have both our familys hooked!

The owners of this restaurant also own J&Y sushi. J&Y always has fresh and delicious food; so, I decided to try Tao. I was excited that it had same great quality and a wider selection menu for those who want something other than sushi. Also has a great atmosphere and nice interior design.

This place serves both Chinese and Japanese food. Had a bento box for lunch, and it was fantastic. My only complaint is that the side was either miso soup or a spring roll. Would have preferred an egg roll or wonton soup.

We have now been twice. Food is very good, reasonably priced and the staff are very welcoming. Its a shame it always seems so empty in there. Both times we have gone we were the only ones there.
