One star and thats for design and ordering. Other than that my experience was overall unpleasant. Liz helped me create my cake design and was super helpful and nice. The look of the cake turned out great for the most part minus a couple imperfections. Besides that, the quality, taste and structure of the cake were terrible. I went with a faux top tier however, I was given no warning that it was going to be hard solid piece. In fact I was told Id be able to stick figures on the top, not the case. I was not even able to stick the candle on top. Extremely disappointing. Then the flavor I chose was strawberry. What I got was sweet pink cake with pink specs in it. My guests barely ate it and sadly 80% went to the trash. But the worst part of it all was the service I received when I went to pick up my cake. Not only are they not opened on Sundays so I had to pick up a day early but I was given the wrong time! I was told pick up at 4:30 (my order sheet confirmed it) and I get a text at 4:20pm from Diane the owner saying theyre locking the doors in 10 mins and what should they do with my cake. I almost had a heart attack. I drove over 30 mins to this place and if I had not planned on being early, I would have found my cake out on their front step. When I got there they were extremely dismissive of their error and treated me like I was a burden and rushed me out the door. I do not recommend this place at all.

I had been looking for a bakery to make my sons first birthday cake and i came across this place. when i walked in i was greeted by Diane herself. she helped me design the cake and assured me that i could trust her and her team to make me happy. Before we left she gave us 6 cupcakes to try as it was our first time using her bakery. When I went and picked up the cake i could not stop smiling upon seeing it .i just knew the cake tasted as good as it looked. My guest loved it. My son is now 6 and i just had his 6th birthday cake made YESTERDAY by non other than the KAKE KORNER . There were no leftovers!!!!! My guest could not believe that it was a cake they thought it was a centerpiece. I even got a call from Jessica this morning to make sure that we were Completely satisfied with our cake and even asked how the party went I dont see how this place can get anything other than positive reviews these ladies are amazing. I have been using the Kake Korner for 6 years and I will not go any where else

I always thought the reviews on biz sites were all well doctored and paid little or no attention to them. However, I honestly wish someone notices this post. Having an eye for excellence has been my own little good juju, and kake korner has more than just impressed me n my extended family. Effortlessly well stroll in and out of there and never worry about the outcome of ANYTHING they agree to put out for us, and its so weird how impeccable it always turns out. Sometimes I honestly wished I could do more than just thank you. Weddings, bridal/baby showers, birthdays, special cakes, name it; we;ve ordered it all at kake korner. All Ive got to say is, give them a try and decide for yourself. For me it was the first time, and remains an amazing experience pouring all my eggs in their very meticulous basket. Tell them what you want, and go to bed!

I have bought cakes from Kake Korner since 1984 (when it was JP Kake Korner) again in 1991, and several times after that and the cakes were wonderful. This year I bought a cake from Kake Korner for my daughters graduation, and I hate to say it, it was awful. I have two professional culinary cooks in my family, and my daughter is going to culinary school to be a pastry chef and all agreed that this was a boxed cake. It had absolutely no flavor, school colors were wrong, instead of green and gold, it was black and gold. You cannot get through on the phone, and leaving a message is useless, they dont call you back. I drove almost an hour a way to get this cake, I will never be back nor will I recommend this bakery to anyone, the outside is so run down and the staffing not professional looking or nice.

There are several bakeries closer to where I live but I order all my cakes from Kake Korner. Each time I serve one of their cakes I ALWAYS get the comment that my guests have never tasted a better cake. Even the non-cake lovers eat their cakes. Then they are so beautiful. No matter what the theme of my event is, they are able to create a cake that ties in to that theme. Sometimes I just show them a picture, sometimes I pick something from their picture gallery, or sometimes they help me design something. The cakes are always beautiful and come out exactly as we discussed. The last cake I did was a mini wedding cake for a small reception after a destination wedding. If you want a special looking cake that is truly delicious try Kake Korner. They cant be beat!

I was looking for a specialty cake to be created for a 90s party and came across the reviews for Kake Korner. The ladies here were EXTREMELY helpful with the design process. Anything that I could think of in terms of design was on the table. All I had to do was email them the designs and logos that I wanted and it was included. The cake turned out perfectly! The cake was moist and all of the buttercream icing was tasty. Even all of the logos and pictures that I had on the cake were edible sugar. It was a little expensive, but for all of the work required to fulfill my vision (on top of number of servings) it was certainly worth the price. Will definitely come back for future cake & dessert needs... (they do cupcakes too!)

I went here over 10 years ago for my sweet sixteen birthday and appreciated their design. I came back again today from VA to order a graduation cake. The woman however was so rude and the very opposite of customer friendly I walked out. Not only did she balk at me wanting a cake an undesirable size to her, she told another employee I could wait for her. Excuse me? Although the designs are wonderful, DC is privy to many more bakery opportunities that can match the beauty of the cake design to the beauty of customer service. I went in elated to order a cake there and left sullen about the demise of their business. Will definitely NOT return and will recommend my friends and colleagues do the same.

Couldnt tell you how the Cakes taste because we never got to that point. Came in for a quote on a 2 tier custom cake and had a picture. I was quoted one price, then while writing the order it suddenly dawned on her that it was $50 more, then after she wrote up the ticket she walked in the back to talk to another worker, then told me she had the price wrong and it was an additional $80. Seriously? Prices rose within like 5 minutes on the same cake without me adding any extras. Too much confusion as if she was making prices. I left and purchased the same exact cake from another local bakery for $100 less then the original price this place gave me
