I have been shopping at this location for seven years. Although they have a wide selection of products and often run specials that can save money, the over all shopping experience has been ruined due to the awful employee mismanagement. This just became a problem within the past seven or so months. I believe they hired a new manager at this time. I am not the type person to write a negative review at the drop of a hat. I have spoken with the manager on occasion expressing my disappointments regarding the check out availability and I gave him several months to react to the criticism of my own and others I know that shop there. Much to my dissatisfaction, no improvements have been made. If you shop at this store, be sure and leave plenty of time when ready to check out. Or you can always try and check yourself out through the automated system that fails miserably time and time again. It has been my experience that during the peak times of shoppers, they will only have one or two lanes open at a time. The lines are so backed up that you are unable to navigate a cart through the front of the store. When they do have more than a few lanes open, they will shut down unexpectedly even when the lines are extremely long throughout. There is no reason the manager cant keep an employee in check out until the lines have diminished. Last night at 9PM, I had a cart overflowing with groceries.Well over $200 worth. When it came time to check out? Not one single attended check out was available. Only the self check out. I dont work 10 hours a day to come home and go shopping for an hour and then have to pay the same price to check my groceries out. That is what the employees of Weis are paid to do. What was even more frustrating is that when I left my cart there and walked out, the manager was outside with three other employees laughing and smoking cigarettes. Very inept management that is causing the store money.

Store has always been extremely clean, produce kept fresh with great variety. General groceries can be unexpectedly pricey so its always best to make a grocery list and use coupons, as well as shop the weekly sales. Have to say, the cashiers are typically very young, but know what they are doing, are friendly and smiling. Cant really say they bag groceries very well, but their standard plastic store bags are horrible, so I usually just take several of my purchased reusable bags which are much larger, and I help bag my order myself. Had encountered a young male cashier who rang my groceries on a few occasions, and he was SO FUNNY, so jovial and loving his job. Cannot recall his name since that was back in December. But, he greeted every customer, never ignoring me and made sure I got sale pricing credit since I could not find my store card, so he used his employee number that they are allowed to use and never complained. My main reason for 4 stars and not 5, is due to inconsistent , high pricing on general grocery items. Would still recommend this Weis location to shoppers.

I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the customer service and hours. Although it didnt use to be this way, they are very understaffed during peak hours of the day which really slows everything up, but eventually the MOD (if there) will open another line which is nice. There is also the issue of when you DO get in line, its extremely slow and holds things up. The floral dept, and the people in the fruit/vegetable dept are very knowledgeable, and ive always been asked if I needed help, and in my experience, when approached with questions, they were very attentive, eager to help, thorough, positive and didnt seem to be annoyed with any request. For the Havre de Grace Weis, they are not 24 hours. They always have the enter door blocked around almost 9pm which I dont understand at all.

Very poor selection of products, it looked like they had been ransacked. The customer service is crappy. Girl at the deli got a visible attitude about being asked to look for rolls. Then she didnt come back until 15 mins later. We all hate our jobs join the club, but at least put on a happy face for the customer. Also the store has a weird smell. Its not bad, more like annoying. Even after coming home and sitting in my room the smell is still on my clothes. Typical bland grocery store with no personality.

This Weis has fresher and better produce than other grocery stores. They just put in a new isle with all organic food. They are not the cheapest place to buy groceries, but they have the best quality so I happily pay the extra. If you want cheap, go to Walmart. If you want great, go to Weis.

This is a great grocery store. I shop there all the time, and all of the employees are very nice. The food is always fresh. I had surgery and they always offered to help me with my groceries without ever asking. This is the only place I shop at for my groceries.

It was a 24 hour store and then they cut the hours to 6am to 10pm. Product is decent, but can be limited as is expected for a store that size. Prices are reasonable, but not great enough to make a special trip. Staff is friendly and polite.

Dealings with your personnel has been a very nice experience. Most employees go out of their way to help. One quick comment:. The employees have not been too alert in the self checkout lane. Too much talking and hanging out.

Produce is fair at best, they get always have some different exotics going through but often run short of things I like to get. The meat is not great but not too bad. The supermarket is pretty average in every aspect.

This is a great place to shop. The young man that works in the bakery has helped me out several times. He is extremely polite and very kind to his customers. All the people who work there are very nice.

Deli section has limited selection and can be pricey. Big store with lots of different product. Never seems to be enough cashiers and the self checkouts always seem to have issues.

This is my favorite grocery store. Theres plenty of parking and its very roomy inside. Great selection of meats, fresh produce, and baked goods. Lines are never a problem.

Clean and big store. Good sales too. Enjoy the cheap papayas at 1 dollar each on sale! Slow employees though and cash register does not show price!
