My Wife brought me here for dinner and the place was short staffed and one gentleman working during the dinner rush. The restaurant was pretty full but we grabbed a seat. Eventhough short staffed, the gebtleman was very quick to take order and serve (a second gentleman got there to lend a hand shortly after we arrived). We wanted (i wanted to) try the House Special Roast Duck, which looked amazing on the picture online (i should mention at this point I am not a fan of Duck meat). I originally thought the restaurant did not serve alcoholic beverages but was pleased to see that they actually do serve. I got the Beer Lao Dark(they ran out of the Vietnamese Beer) and it was really good. My Wife went with Chardonnay. We ordered Shrimp Skewer, Lotus Root Salad and Hot & Sour Soup. Every single dishes were above average and knocked other local asian restaurants out of the park. Im talking about New York City style taste (if you went around all the boroughs in New York City, you would know what Im on about). So the Shrimp Skewer was really good and flavourful. The Lotus Root Salad was so so so good. The Hot and Sour Soup is more like Sweet and Sour, however, the flavour of the chicken broth is out of this world and yes there is pineapple in the soup (I dont like pineapple on food unless its a dessert), but we didnt mind in this case because the soup was oh so delicious! There were Okra in the soup also which was delightfully odd but in the best way possible. Now onto the House Special Roast Duck, it tasted even better than it looked and we absolutly loved it. My Wife likes Duck but not the general Chinese Ducks. This Duck had above and beyond flevour and crispy just the way it should be. This is the BEST Asian/Vietnamese restaurant not just in Annapolis, but in entire Maryland.

I have to update my review to be totally honest. on 2nd visit the steak pho was still excellent, nice spice level. Drinks good too and very friendly service. However, 2nd visit was a disaster. They forgot to make the pad thai for one of our group and brought out all our pho orders without the last persons dinner. So one of our party waited while we all ate, and when they delivered the pad thai the chicken was _half_ cooked. No joke, Ive never seen this in a restaurant before in my life, the chicken was actually completely raw in the middle. It was obvious they rushed the forgotten order way too fast. Of course she didnt eat any and sent it back immediately. Im pretty forgiving and thought, ok, they forgot the food and rushed it and someone totally goofed. Lets see what happens. But then they didnt come back to the table for 5 minutes to address what went wrong and find out what we wanted to do (replacement of same order? something else? nothing at all?). We just sat there wondering, so now what? In the end they remade the pad thai for free, gave 10% discount on entire remaining check and were apologetic and nice, but unfortunately Im probably not going back. Sad because the pho was delicious. Recommendation: If you go, Id stick with the pho.

A++ I highly recommend this restaurant! Ever since freshman year at UMD College Park, Ive known that a great bowl of pho can go a long way in helping a man recover from anything. Every time a friend or I have been hit hard by a common cold, or a brutal hangover, pho 75, 88, or VN 1 near campus has always hit the spot. Moving to Annapolis has meant that a good helping of the curative broth was now 30+ minutes away...until now. There are a couple of places around town that have tried their best, but in my opinion lacked a certain depth of flavor. Saigon Palace hits the mark impeccably. A fully loaded bowl (with meatballs) runs the average price, and although Ive heard otherwise, the bean sprouts, basil and other veggies that are customarily served with the soup have always been fresh. The service is beyond comparison. The staff is courteous and attentive, and hot towels and oranges are served after each meal. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, and large LCD screens are all around. Far from the cafeteria-like setting of the Zagat rated Pho 75 on University blvd. It certainly makes a decent place to catch up with a couple of friends over a bowl of soup, or a strong vietnamese coffee.

My favorite restaurant in the Annapolis area. I love Vietnamese food and I suffered a bit moving from the Vietnamese mecca of Arlington, VA to Annapolis until we found this place. We live downtown within walking distance of many fine Annapolis restaurants, but when we want to spoil ourselves we drive here. I love the Bun/Vermicelli with chicken--lots of fried garlic on top. My wife loves the Vietnamese omlette or crepe. The fresh summer rolls with peanut sauce are excellent. The staff is very friendly and the prices are very cheap. The downside: they have two TVs, which seem to be always on.

Mmmm. Saigon Palace. The broth here is PIPING hot, which is extremely important when it comes to Pho. The service is always fast and efficient and the Vietnamese noodle soup is just downright delicious. You receive an ample amount of sprouts, basil, jalapeno and limes. The crispy spring rolls go hard AF. I highly recommend the House Noodle Soup (#31) for an amazing treat. Be sure to finish it off with a fork to collect the goodies hidden at the bottom. We will continue to come back again and again.

We love Saigon Palace. Like one of the other reviewers, we moved to Edgewater back in 2007 from the DC area and did not expect to find a place that served good Vietnamese food. We were definitely proved wrong after dining at Saigon Palace. I can honestly say that we eat at Saigon at least once every two weeks and it is always consistent and always great. The servers are extremely friendly and on a cold evening, you cannot go wrong by ordering the Pho! As for pricing, it is reasonable, as well.

The food was acceptable, but not great. The service was bad. To be fair, we walked in as a group of five and they place isnt large, but the server seemed unhappy about us being there. One meal came out and was almost cold by the time the other meals came out. After our food came out, we had to request enough silverware for the table. One person never got the Thai tea she ordered, but was still charged for it. We struggled to get the servers attention to get our receipt

The restuarant is rather small and only two individuals work the front (hosting, serving, busing, taking checks). We arrived with a party of five and the waiter was clearly frustrated about moving tables to accommodate our party. Our wait for service, our meal, and the check was long (an hour and a half in total). The meal was sub par, all of the chicken was severely over cooked, and I never received the Thai tea I ordered. I would not recommend.

The place looks better now, but the hosts wont take feedback positively. They put very little noodles in their Pho noodle soup and have been letting them know for a long time now. Ever since the renovation, its gotten worse. They even dwindled down the amount of little sliced onions in the soup to 3-4 instead of 10-15. Everything else about this place is probably fine though, thats why Im still leaving a descent review.
