M Thai Kitchen is one of those restaurants you wish youd known about sooner. First off, its run by a married couple, the husband being an American hero who served in Vietnam and the wife being the chef who manages the kitchen prep. Theyre also bringing two new student chefs in from Thailand next month, so they keep the culinary innovation fresh at heart. From first bite youll taste the most well balanced Thai food Ive ever had in Maryland. Theyre hot on the tail of Thai X-ing in DC for authenticity. And how they source the ingredients is beyond me... Imagine the mortar and pestle used in their papaya salad preparation. Then follow your taste buds up with a bite of the chicken larb. (Larb Gai) Oh, its so delicious. You dont come for the decor here, which reminds me of most memorable restaurants in Thailand-- you come for the FOOD. And its amazing. I wish I had time for the soup, but we decided on Massaman Curry and the Pad See Ew. Both are excellent, well balanced, and perfectly spiced. Texture is key, and with a squeeze of lime over the Pad See Ew, the chef nails it. The only thing to watch out for is the Thai Iced Tea. Its heavy on the simple syrup; youll have a sugar crash if you drink the whole thing. That aside, GET HERE!! Its well worth the drive, and would be a perfect first date spot if you want to impress a girl with your culinary selection and not be seen as trying to impress her with glitz and glam. Prices are reasonable and service is exceptional-- with the attention to detail you would expect from a prior military service member running the front of the house operations.

Today they had a COMPLETELY FREE full buffet with drinks and alcoholic beverages included from noon to 4pm for their 6 year anniversary to say "thank you" to their customers, and the quality of food mixed with this extreme display of generosity makes the rating of 5 stars not enough to express the awe and gratitude of this experience. Who does that! Who opens their business and continuously feeds all people for 4 hours?! They were so kind and coming by talking with us and taking pictures of us all enjoying their hospitality! This has completely blown my mind and made me a customer for life. My coworkers love going here for lunch, but now its going to have a whole new meaning to patronize this place. With much pleasure i will return and tell anyone looking for good Thai food to go there! Thank you, M Thai Kitchen!!!! Your kindness today was mind blowing and beautiful~

The worst experience ever...the male owner practically threw us out by announcing that we needed to hurry up and order because the cook was leaving...it was 8:45...he hovered over the table obnoxiously trying to hurry us up while we tried to read a 10 page booklet they call a menu. Once we ordered at 9:25 he shut the lights out while we were still eating and brought us our check...and announce well you know we close at 9...hello person that knows nothing about running a business...if you close at nine stop serving at 8:45 and treating your customers like they are annoying you... This is the second time this has happened..would not go back ...EVER..the guy is a loose cannon he and his wife run the place and I give them six months TOPS in business... dont go there

Ive been to Thailand three times so I know how real Thai food supposes to taste like. While most Thai restaurants in MD, mostly operated by Chinese, Korean and sometimes Vietnamese, are serving very awfully americanised fake Asian food, M Thai does have authentic, delicious Thai food that I’m looking for long time. The first time I was here, I overheard the chef speaking in Thai, and then I know it will be good. Indeed the meal is much closer to real Thai food than all the other restaurants in MD, but it’s a little too sweet. After couple months, I came back aging. This time it is not so busy, and the too sweet problem is disappeared. I left the restaurant with full, happy-belly. Can’t wait to come back again to have more authentic dishes!

Lets be clear, the food is good. However, not much else to say beyond that. I feel that a 3.5 star rating is more than generous. Everything was served very hot and fresh ingredients were used. My wife had a soup that both were not very fond of. Overall all, I feel that I could go to most Asian restaurants and have a similar meal. Nothing to write home about. A small thing, but they also brought out our food separately. My wife had her meal 5 mins prior to mine coming out. Seems like a silly thing to do.

I was a little hesitant to go in at first since there were no customers at the time but I am very happy that I tried this place out. Everything was fresh and very delicious. I didnt catch the owners name but he was very friendly and personable. I normally dont do seafood on a first trip to a restaurant but I decided to and it was amazing. Id have to say this is the best Thai I have ever had. I will definitely be back.

This place has the most authentic and delicious thai food Ive tasted in Maryland. The spring rolls were great, there salad was top notch, the drunken noodles are wonderful and the pad thai is out of this world. The thai tea it very good and they give you a huge cup of it for hardly nothing. This is a place you go out of your way for to get delicious food. Put this place on your lists of places to try.

We have eaten Thai food in many places, but this is one of the best. Although we came on a slow night, the service was fast and cheerful, and the delicious food came out promptly. An extensive menu -we had the pad see yew and crispy spicy eggplant. Combo appetizer platter. All were topnotch. Fresh ingredients expertly prepared. Nice sound track too! We will be back often.

Waited over 15 minutes to get a menu and had to Ask for it ourselves. There was only 2 tables! Server was super confused between our and other 2 table orders. Food was bleh. Crowd eating there was older, younger people felt a bit out of place. Place has a decor identity crisis! Mix of grandmas kitchen that got some souvenirs from Thailand...

My food was fine, my fiance sent hers back, she didnt like their version of Fried Rice. This led to the cook storming out and snatching our plates away and slamming them together on the table. Really swell attitude. From our experience Ill give it two stars. But I will say I enjoyed my dish.

I stumbled upon this cozy Thai restaurant while grabbing ice cream right next door. This place serves delicious, home-style dishes and at a very reasonable price. Service is among the best I have seen. The custard dessert, although not available all the time, is heavenly.

This place is a awesome place for Thai food. The staff is friendly and the food is great. I have been to other Thai restaurants, for some reason good Thai food in this country is hard to find. Also had the fried banana with ice cream and was very good.

adorable place with great service and the best mango & sticky rice Ive ever had. crispy & spicy eggplant, though not particularly spicy, is incredible. just make sure you leave room for the mango. seriously.
