Weve been to the Italian Market a few times. The last time we encountered an older man working there (judging by his mannerism may have been an owner). The man was irritated with us for moving a chair to the side so we could sit our baby down. The restaurant was not crowded with maybe three or four tables in use and we moved the chair five inches at most. He cursed at us in Italian (yes, we speak Italian but didnt respond) and continued to mutter crude comments at us under his breath. Furthermore, the Stromboli was microwaved and the sandwich I ate was not worth the money. The food court at the shopping mall across the street has the same quality food for less money and at least they dont curse at you. Good luck Italian market - youll need it with those high prices and your rude service.

I have to agree with the Aug. 21 reviewer--the same owner or manager didnt like it when we moved several tables together for a large party. Not everyone was there yet, but it was only a few minutes before the appointed meeting time and the restaurant was half empty. I was looking forward to a relaxing lunch with friends and the owner/manager got the occasion off to bad start. The food was good and freshly prepared and the rest of the staff was friendly and efficient, but for the same (or even better quality) food and lower cost, I would recommend Squisitos a few minutes away, where we will be having our next lunch.

Ive been going here for a while, and the place is sort of going through a downswing Ive noticed recently. 3 out of the last 5 visits, the food was burned (pay attention to the fryer, guys!) and the place was not very busy at all. I think there will be a hiatus taken from our visits to pasta night, where also 3 out of the last 5 times we didnt get our discount. With competing resteraunts in the immediate area (mama Lucias/ Susquitos) I dont see how I.M. isnt stepping up their game instead of becomming just another complacent, sliding backward eatery. I think they may be relying on their wine sales a bit too much.

Apart from so so food: They refused me tap water (we dont do that) and made me buy bottled. My companion diners (who ordered separately) insisted so they got tap water. Then I ordered garlic bread with my entree. They took the order and charged me 2 dollars. My companion diners got garlic bread free with their entrees. When I complained they had the good grace to refund my bread money. Never going again. I dont like being ripped off and I will not go to any restaurant that refuses me water and forces me to fill landfills with plastic bottles. Change your policies. You are driving customers away.

It is a taste of Napoli in Annapolis. In the cafeteria style restaurant part (It is just like Italia where you pay first then get your food.) the food is wonderful and only slightly more expensive than a full meal at McDonalds. For example, the Special Stromboli is much larger than it looks because it is chock full of meat, cheese, and some vegetables. The gelato is expensive but well worth the money because it is delizio, and they have some unusual flavors. The market part has a seemingly endless selection of wines both imported and domestic, varying from the inexpensive to the very expensive.

I wanted to write a review after reading all of the not so positive ones.... My family visits the italian market several times a month and have never had a bad experience. I like their pizza better than any other home delivered one. my kids love the italian dishes especially cheese ravioli, always they provide us with courteous service and the prices are reasonable. it is not a place to be waited on, so you will not have a server to bring you drinks. the Annapolis Italian Market is a family favorite.

Always a great visit! We usually come to grocery shop for specialty Italian items and have a pizza or sandwich. The freshly baked bread and mozzarella are always a reason to shop here. Love that they carry frozen sfogliatella, pastas, cookies from New York bakeries, candies and panna (sometimes they have the panna, sometimes not). At Easter, there are a variety of large surprise-filled hollow chocolate eggs.

Name conitated a market of sorts, what ended up being a pizza restaurant, with a wine annex. They offered a selection of gelato, salads and deserts. What I didnt see, was a meet slicer which would have meant it an Italian Market. Pizza was a 3 out of 5 range, teramazu said to be imported from Italy, was a 4.5 out of 5. Bathroom was clean with modern amenities.

I always like the Italian Market in how consistent their food is. Good Italian food and a nice shop all in one at affordable prices. Sometimes when it gets crowded though the place gets very loud and the background music can sometimes be too loud as well. I usually have a good experience however, so I recommend it if you are in the area for Italian food.

Pretty good place. Italian specialties are your best bet, although I got a decent Cheesesteak there once for lunch. They have a drive/pickup, but the two times I used it, both times there were mistakes with my order. The gelato is excellent! However, beware the prices on the packaged items (dried pasta, etc) they sell, no bargains here!

Very much enjoyed this casual Italian market. Food was good and came out quickly after we ordered from the counter. Veal Parmigiano was tasty and my wife was pleased with her lasagna which she almost never orders out because it usually dissappoints. We will definitely go back to try other items and things fro.their market.

Great wine selection, although prices are all over the place - from reasonable to way over priced. Nice selection of Italian products, but shop carefully because prices range from reasonable to ridiculous. Pizza is okay. Better than most chains, but not as good as I would expect from an authentic Italian place like this.

If I could give zero stars I would. I got a cheese calzone which had water on the plate when served. I tried giving the benefit of the doubt and tried eating it. I got to one part which was raw dough. I left feeling a burning sensation going down my esophagus and like I was going to throw up. I will never go there again.

You couldnt pay me to eat here. Sadly, Im sure the food is acceptable but to hear the way the owner talks to employees and vendors is degrading and cruel. Their wine prices far exceed that of what is sold locally for the same brands and the atmosphere is like eating in the middle of a cheesy convenience store.

The name conitated an Italian grocery store. What is evident, a diverse selection of pizza, gelato and deserts. I did not observe slicing machines or breads. There was an extensive wine department. Overall the decor was regionally appropriate, the bathroom clean with upscale amenities.

What this place lacks in ambiance it makes up for with some pretty darn good slices for $2.50. 1. Two tips: you can buy the dough and it makes great pizzas at home and 2. There is a drive up window (it took me four years to realize this!) and it sells WINE.

Most expensive cheesesteak sub ever. Plus ordered it with green peppers (an extra) and they charged but didnt put them on. The tomatoes were large chunks and not sliced. It was decent tasting but not worth the price for a 9 inch sub.
