Its a mixed bag with Spro. If you want a good cup of coffee, theyve got you covered. Its nothing far and beyond what the other Hampden shops have but they do tend to stay open later, which is great for late night studying. Need WIFI? ... out of luck. It is a surprise that they still dont offer this, especially considering their coffee is by no means cheap. The staff has always been extremely friendly and well versed in coffee making. The regulars that attend are equally as nice. There are some tasty treats (e.g., Breadpudding) but the options are few and they arent rotated. I cant quite put my finger on it, but another view labeled it as a "sterile" environment and this hits the nail on the head. Not in the sense of being clean, but just that as a coffee shop it doesnt invoke a homey "coffee shop" feeling.

Quite possibly the worst coffee experience. The barista was completely inept at her job, taking over 10 minutes to deliver a chai latte and a hot drip coffee. There was a guy waiting behind me, but he turned around & left, since she didnt even attempt to take his order until she was done making our drinks. My chai latte was lukewarm at best, and had zero flavor. I really dont know what she did to this drink to make it so awful. The drip coffee was also not hot. Truly disappointing.

Two months ago I would have said its the only coffee worth drinking in Baltimore, but luckily Woodberry Kitchen proved me wrong with a beautiful cappuccino served alongside my eggs benedict, but thats another story. For anyone googling the simple phrase "best coffee in Baltimore", I hope this review can cut their sampling of scalding bubbly lattes short and lead them to the finest espresso available in Charm City: Spro. The Haupia cappuccino or honey macchiato are truly fabulous.

Local chain that knows their coffee. Service can be hit and miss, they are attentive once you ask them for help picking something and willing to explain, but there is an initial air of nonchalance to the staff who often prefer to talk to each other than give good service. Otherwise decent prices and quality pours on a great space. No wifi which is nice and ample sitting on small tables.

Two baristas were on break when we arrived around 12:30 on Saturday. The remaining one was nice but unbelievably slow and and forgot my drink-which was lukewarm when it finally arrived at least 15 minutes later. However, the banana bread (gluten-free!) and granola bar (also gluten-free!) were delicious--just not good enough to justify the long wait.

Most weekday mornings I spend a good 30 minutes at Spro Hampden savoring the Haupia Macchiato and wondering if that feeling could be bottled and reopened around 2 p.m. The folks here care so deeply about each coffee drink that it changes you. No rush to get out the door and into the car when its this good...

Fantastic coffee But somewhat indifferent/unfriendly help. They spoke about customers they disliked and other complaints about humanity the entire time I was there. Since it is a small shop, it was impossible not to hear them bad mouth the entire universe. Not a great customer experience.

Everything a coffee shop should be: cozy, lively without being deafening, and a place to get something nicer than your usual home brew. Check out the giant cold brew set-up! Coffee is always better when it comes from a giant steampunk contraption.

The only thing notable about this place is how exceptionally rude the barista was upon taking and preparing my order. I wont be returning, and would advise others to avoid it as well.

More accessible than ceremony, better than artifact, less hip than thread and hands the best coffee in Baltimore. Best brewing methods. Best roasts. Best, best, best iced coffee.

No WI-FI! Seriously, how do you even get to label yourself a coffee shop these days without having some sort of internet connectivity?
