Grew up down the street and have eaten crabs in and carried out forever. However our last visit to the crab house was terribly disappointing. The 47/doz "larges" were not only under sized for mid summer, they were OVER steamed. All of the Fried items we got were OVER DONE (over fried & chewy). They even burnt the bacon on the BLT. Ears of Corn were only half edible, and crawling with ants. Having gotten really good food there before, none of the dishes were acceptable. I must admit the 2 items we refused were taken off the bill and our drinks covered. However, our first complaint regarding the clam strips was treated like we dont know how food is prepared. WAKE UP! Youre not the only seafood place in town & probably our last choice from now on. I hear Vinces has Eat-In now...

Best crabs this year (2016). The crabs were fresh, very heavy, and spiced just right. I loved the food. We ordered crabs, shrimp, crab dip, cream of crab soup, burgers and chicken strips for the kids. Everything was so fresh. It was a family friendly establishment and the wait staff were professional and fast. They do add an 18% tip to you check, I tend to tip 20% so I paid the check and added a bit more. So if youre looking for good fresh seafood, this is a great place to go!

What a gem! First rate steamed crabs but even more amazing are boiled shrimps, sweet corns cooked with the steamed crabs, and the homemade ice cream. We almost skipped ice cream because we were so full but ended up order another two scoops to go! So sorry we couldnt make it back to the restaurant again on our way back from the South. Will be a destination next time we visit Baltimore.

Bird River Inn is a cozy bar/restaurant. The food is good and quite reasonable, the staff is friendly and attentive.theres a crab house and crabs are served inside.Im there on Tuesday for the hot turkey sandwich and fries as well as karaoke hosted by a great host named Herb.Herb hosts Karaoke on Thursday and Sunday as well.the patrons are friendly and welcoming ,the beers cold.

Our first time visit. A local hangout with local flavor. Bartenders Emily & Theresa were friendly and attentive. We ate in the bar. Crabcakes, while modestly sized, were all lump meat. Just enough filler to hold together. Market price was reasonable. Recommended and will return.

Travelled from Pittsburgh, asked some locals about where to get good crab. A woman stopped me after the fact to tell me about this place. Fresh, delicious crab. Friendly people. Wonderful atmosphere. If you want to eat with locals, like a local, this is the spot.
