Service was below average and the food was worse. I cannot have gluten, I have celiacs, and I asked to have none and described what all that included. When my sushi finally arrived I took one bite and it was filled with the tempura bits, I finally got our waiter to come back and he said "oh yea, I couldnt stop them, its premade". THEN COME TELL ME AND I CAN PICK SOMETHING ELSE, dont intentionally give me what I told you I cant have. I told him to take it back and just bring me a simple salmon roll. Then they charged me for the $15 roll I had to sent back, which they could have avoided even making if he would have told me there was no way to serve it without gluten, and made the $5 salmon roll free. I had to ask them to change it. The salmon was room temperature, at best, and I am fairly certain that I am ill today from that. Spent at least 30 minutes this morning sitting you know where. Ill see how today goes but I wouldnt be a bit surprised if this turns out to be a food-borne illness. I have never wanted to not eat food at a restaurant, I am adventurous and love to try new things and eat at new places, but I should have listened to my gut and left before eating the poorly prepared room temperature salmon sushi. As a side note I have worked as a waitress for many years I understand people have a bad day....but this was just terrible.

The sushi was very mediocre and the service was absolutely horrible! We asked the waitress a number of different questions throughout the evening and the answer was always "I dont know" and she would walk away. Never once would she say Ill find out or anything along those lines. Then the food took a ridculously long period of time and the excuse was that "sorry but we are very busy". That would be fine except there were only 11 customers at 4 tables in the entire restaurant. Finally, they have a Wasabi Challenge one of us accepted. Essentially its 12 pieces wasabi filled sushi and if you can eat it, its free, otherwise you pay $20. Sounds simple enough, except they dont post the time limit of 6 minutes until youve already started eating. We had asked if there was a time limit and the waitress of course said "I dont know." So in the end he won the challenge but had to inhale the food since we werent informed of the time limit till he had already begun at a leisurely pace. Definitely will not return.

-- Current -- Went here for lunch and realized that a lot of the promotional and package prices really dont make sense. I quickly ordered the Sashimi Regular in order to get something in for lunch. Then while looking at the menu I noticed that the sushi regular is 20.95 for 12 pieces of sushi and miso soup, but a miso soup and 2 sushi appetizers (14 pieces) is 20.40. So more food for less price? This applies to the lunch special for sashimi as well. The Sashimi lunch is 11.95, but to order 7 pieces of sashimi and soup as separate items its only 11.45. The food was still very good, but it would be nice if they fixed their pricing to not punish customers for choosing their package deals. -- 5 Months Ago -- 5 stars The food here was amazing. There was a bit of a language barrier when asking for something different than the menu item, but that doesnt distract much from the quality of the food itself.

Good sushi, whimsical presentations, inventive rolls, eager to please staff. What more do you need? Located in a tiny strip mall behind the CVS off of Riva Road you might never notice Katana, but Annapolis newest sushi restaurant (who knew we needed ANOTHER one!) deserves your attention. We went twice during opening week and while they dont have everything on the menu yet (as of Aug 20th, 2009), what we have had has been very good. Due to the location you can have the place almost to yourself for a while (sorry Joss, love ya but I hate sitting on top of the couple next to me...), so now is the time to go and feel like the emperor!

Good food, but service can be slow, depending on your waitress. Been going since it opened. Went in Feb 2014 and service has definitely gotten better. Good menu, many choices, with the usual teishoku sets or a la carte for nigiri sushi and tekka rolls. Best point: this as yet undiscovered semi-precious gem is never crowded, though it may get that way once the summer crowd gets in town. Also, you can get half price Groupons and have a super meal. Full alcohol service is available if you want some Bourbon or gin with your tekka-maki and tamago. Prices reasonable compared to other sushi places in town.

katana sushi is a great sushi place!! its service might be a little slow on some nights but it has great food and a family atmosphere i go there once a week and i always see familiar faces at the bar with me they all agree that Katana sushi has been a great addiction to our community it has it ups and downs but the managers have always change people out for newer better waiters because the sushi chiefs have been changed out i think we are getting newer sushi rolls and fresh ideas i think it should be a great place to spend your weekends

So we just moved from San Diego and have been looking for a great sushi spot to eat.. We happen to look this up and had great reviews. So we decided to go and check it out. Walkng in it was really ncie and inviting.. We sat at the sushi bar. The owner Jin was really nice, he gave us a sugestion for a sushi, it was the Fire Tuna Maki.. It was really good.. Plus the sushi was really yummieeeee.. I would defenitly go back there this is gonna be our spot for sushi. I would highly reccommend this place...

Holy crap this place is terrible. Service is incompetent, had to request drinks from the server everytime. Spent 60 bucks on trash is what the experience feels like. All of this occurred with only my family in the restaurant. Not another soul around but the staff. The food was a huge let down. Paying so much for so little and the flavors were so terribly bland for everything ordered. If you want good sushi order at Yamas in Glen Burnie.

Couldnt believe my luck! A sushi place less than 70 yards from the hotel at which I randomly picked to stay. I thought for sure that it would be terrible (thats usually how luck works for me). It was great. If you like spicy I recommend the Hot n Hot Maki. Also, Happy Hour until 6:00PM $1.00 sushi. I ate like a king and saved over $25.00! Will definitely return.

Decor is very modern, yet still casual and comfortable. Got a 3 roll sushi lunch combo, the sweet potato rolls were especially good. My mom got chicken yakisoba, said it was a little oily and not very flavorful. Service was good too. Under $40 for an appetizer, 2 drinks, 2 entrees and an extra shrimp roll.

The sushi was quite good. The server, while very friendly, wasnt terribly efficient. The hot tea I ordered was tepid, and I had both an empty water glass and an empty tea cup for most of the meal, even though I was there at a time when it wasnt crowded.
