Noodles were fine, but it was hardly authentic. Pros: Broth is rich, flavorful and fulfilling Noodles are delicious and not pre-packaged garbage. Gue Tie dumplings tasted great. Cons: The Staff scream greetings to anyone who walks in at the top of their lungs, without any regard to the other customers. The proportions are pathetic. Asking for extra Broth cost 5 more dollars for a small miso-soup bowl of extra stock. The meal was WAY overpriced for what you get. They add CORN to RAMEN. No mushrooms, barely a hint of bamboo, no water chestnut, no sprouts. But for some reason, CORN was a good idea (it tasted awful). They dont advertise Authentic Ramen, but there is a reason why Authentic Ramen is good. The pork is not as advertised. It was a spiral of disgusting, textureless fat that only had the luxury of being discarded from the meal. No water was given or provided. I would sooner wait a year, travel back to Chicago and go to Mitsuwa to have REAL ramen, for half the cost of this place. Some advice for the owners: Do your homework on ramen. You have a good start, your broth is great and noodles are lovely. Increase proportions of both to your customers. Add more bamboo, add sprouts and shiitake mushrooms. DO YOUR DAMNED HOMEWORK. Do not greet new customers beyond a quiet and polite "good evening!" Screaming at your customers will ruin their mood. Dress your staff respectfully and not as if they were going out to a club.

My first, only, and last experience at Ten Ten was rather disappointing. I tried two different types of ramen, I believe both were specials. The first ramen (I think it was named Sapporo/Hokkaido/some other large Japanese city or prefecture) was exceptionally salty. It was packed full of meat and other ingredients and had a good flavor, but it was masked by a ludicrous amount of salt. Im not averse to loading things up with salt and quite enjoy some grilled corn on the cob with plenty of salt but this was... on an entirely different level of saltiness. It was downright disgusting and I could not finish it, and that was not due to lack of appetite. The second ramen (cant remember the name, but I think it might have had egg in it) was not salty but it also had very little flavor. It was just bland all around and theres just not a lot to say about it. You can find instant noodles that you put in the microwave that have substantially more and better flavor. I give this place two stars solely because of the amount of food in each bowl. If it wasnt for that it would solidly be in one star territory. There are substantially better noodle bars available in the DMV.

The last time I came here was in February, and Ive come here multiple times before and I have loved it. Tonight, however, the menu was quite different then i remembered, they no longer have alllllllll those options for different kinds of ramen. They have exactly six options for ramen now but added a lot of other foods to the menu. I like that they added lots of other stuff but I have to say Im a bit disappointed....I liked the ramen so much more before the menu change. I always got the spicy Hatcho Miso ramen before and they said the closest was the Sapporo Hatcho and it just wasnt the same....lots of the toppings and flavors that i loved before were missing. This was one of my favorite places to go with my boyfriend and now its just kinda not worth it to us. Theyve taken away a lot of the authentic ramen toppings they used to have. Its a bit sad. Even the karaage (fried chicken) is different then before. The food is still really yummy but it was so much better before.

Been going here ever since I started living around Mt. Vernon for school years ago (thanks to a friends suggestion for ramen) and it ended up being so delicious I got others into it too. Their menu has changed completely as of a month or two ago, which ended up being for the better: Ive never gone to a ramen place in Baltimore yet where the contents were so delicious AND abundant with more than just noodles and broth with sprouts. Staff is delightful, though it can be a bit strange. Some have come and gone, but the staff has always been very nice and responsive. Glad they put up with me getting so much milk tea all the time. I suggest the Sapporo Hatcho, or my favorite, the Tantanmen if you enjoy spicier dishes, or whatever is on their special ramen board up front for the day. Always great. (ADD KARAAGE AND TAMAGO FOR THE BEST TIME. I always add their spicy mix blend too, and a lot of it, but its not necessary. ) Thanks guys.

I love this place! It was originally recommended to me by a friend, and I couldnt be happier about it! The food has always been excellent. I normally get Chahan (which has pork, rice, scrambled eggs and probably some other stuff mixed in), and it is only $8.50 for a very large portion. The atmosphere is very "chill" and calm with excellent lighting and music that is unique and pleasant. My mother also enjoys this place and she often gets Tantanmen ($13, or something like that), which is quite spicy but has excellent flavor! Whenever I have gone, it has never been overcrowded. Also, if youre into this kind of thing, they always have anime movies playing (silently, with subtitles). I highly recommend this place for both atmosphere and food. One more thing--dont come here with a big group: its much better suited to two-person dining (three at the very most).

UPDATE: Tried this place again to give it another shot since it use to be so good. THE FOOD IS WORSE THAN I REMEMBER. the beef is unbelievably dry, grainy, and fatty and the broth is disgustingly salty. AVOID AT ALL COST!!! This place use to be so amazing. The ramen isnt as good as it use to be and the new setup they have is terrible. They seat you and give you menus and put a number on your table. Once you decide on an entree you have to go up to the counter and order yourself. Even with numbers on the tables they still give you the wrong food and yell at you when you switch tables because "it screws them up". A few months ago I would highly recommend going to this place but now I would highly recommend avoiding it.

Went to this place after hearing great reviews about the ramen, sad to say I was very disappointed. The broth was very oil and salty, the noodles were very basic that I could have made it at home and had a better experience. The only thing authentic about this place is the decor and the greetings you get when you come in through the door. Maybe they should focus more on the food prep and taste rather than speaking authentic japanese greetings. Found another ramen place north of here by the Johns Hopkins area and that was WAY better than the sad excuse for ramen they present me and my fiance with. Never going back for a bowl of oil.

The Ramen here is fantastic and well worth a try! Their soup bases are tasty and varied, and their meat and noodles are above average compared to other ramen shops in the Baltimore area. One complaint I have about Ten Ten is the layout of their current menu. A couple months ago Ten Ten switched from a nicely laid out menu with good descriptions of all of their offerings, to a terrible picture based menu that makes each option indistinguishable from each other. It is impossible to know what any dish contains without asking the waitstaff. Their takeout menus are far superior to their regular ones... its odd.
