Told my wife I was going to write a nasssty review about this place because quite frankly weve been here for almost an hour now and have only received our one glass of wine. It all started when we first got here an the hostess didnt show up for about ten minutes. Granted yes we could of left but on a Sunday night during Fourth of July weekend it was the one of the few places open. 45 minutes from sitting down we finally received plates and napkins for our appetizers. I got very excited thinking the food was one its way but 30 mins later and still nothing. I ordered another drink, the bonfire spirit because of the advertisement on our table. That took about 15 mins and it showed up in a glass the same size of a shot glass. Im still here waiting for my food. I can definitely see why they are open until 1 am. P.S. This place is disrespectfully under staffed. The poor hostess was the bus boy, waiter, and every other position possible.

September 23rd, 2010 – Diners and brewpubs are always difficult to go to when you’re a vegetarian. You just know that the culinary experience is going to be all about burgers and fries. Sebago Brewing Company is NOT like that. Actually, they’re quite keen on taking care of their veggie friends, as every week they have “Meatless Monday” where they promote their animal-free food options and have many delicious vegetarian specials. Even on other days of the week, the menu is filled with delicious options for someone with special dietary needs. Enough options to keep you coming back! The food isn’t perfect, but it’s better than “just good.” It’s a great place to be with friends, have a beer (after all, they’re a brewery!), and relax. It just also happens to be super accommodating and progressive, which is something that should be appreciated and celebrated in this day and age.

In Maine for the weekend, my girlfriend and I decided to have a nice Valentines Day dinner and chose Sebago. The atmosphere was nice, the service was okay. The waitress took 20 minutes to bring our drink order of a strawberry daquiri and a Northern Light Ale. We ordered the Chicken Alfredo pasta and a chicken Caesar salad. The highlight of the meal was the strawberry daquiri. The food was bland, the salad had barely any dressing at all and did not resemble Caesar dressing in the slightest. It tasted like mayonnaise, black pepper, salt and parmesan were the only ingredients. We requested the bread with the chicken Alfredo, but the bread did not come until 15 minutes after the meal was served. Sorry, we wont return when we return to the Portland area.

Was just in Portland for a birthday and went out on the town. This was the worst stop on that trip. The location is fine, but it feels like you should check in before getting a table. We were there at about 9pm, it was busy but not packed. We were seated, but that was it. 10 minutes went by and no waiter. I am patient, but there seemed to be a lot of staff. Our order was going to contain food as well as drinks, but the lack of attention was disheartening so we ordered a beer and left. I understand that taste is subjective, but I ordered a hazy IPA which was a clear red colored ale. Maybe it is just that the other area spots had a lot more going on for them, but Sebago was just not doing it for us.

We just finished our dinner here. We sat at a table in an awkward place in the restaurant. Hostess wouldnt put us at the empty table next to the window upon request. We ordered an app and cup of soup which were promptly brought out. Before we were half done with the app the dinner was brought out. The burger I had seemed pre-prepared and the bun was dry and flavorless. Overall poor service. I told the waitress to take the soup off the bill since we had 1 spoonful before the dinner was brought. No sign of a manager. I wouldnt return or recommend to anyone. I hope others have a better experience.

Sebago is located in what feels like (probably because it is) the bottom of a hotel. the beer is awesome however, and even though the atmosphere is a bit clinical and hotel bar feeling, it has a little brew pub cred with the fermentation tanks. Service was nice but a little weird, and very quick. Dogs are allowed at the outside. The menu isnt huge but has a nice normal list and a few rotating seasonals which were very tasty. For a small brewery, Sebago has some great beer and sitting outside with one on a nice day is just perfect.

Local brewery to Portland and New England. Brews a selection of about seven hoppy IPAs, which includes an annual seasonal limited edition. Brews are excellent. Restaurant has a cozy, fun, inviting atmosphere and the staff are friendly and informative to visitors & tourists. Not the "most famous" brewery in the area, but was recommended as a Locals favorite, and it lived up to the reputation. Highly Recommended!! (Attached to the Hampton Inn Downtown Portland -- Valet parking recommended.)

We attempted to order directly from the bar, but we were told we must order with the server. The server took 5-10 minutes to even greet us. We ordered a red ale. We received an IPA. We asked for water with no ice. We receive a cup full of ice. At the end of all this, we told the bartender, and she quickly said sorry and returned to her work. It wasnt a pleasant experience. I wouldnt recommend it. The beer was decent, but not worth enduring bad service.

This review is for the Scarborough location. I am a beer snob. I cant speak for the other beers but the bourbon barrel stout was very good. Very faint hints of bourbon and oak from the barrel. Id give it a 3.5 out of 4. I really liked the modern clean atmosphere and well thought out lighting, very inviting, The menu was full our good seafood and non-seafood choices at very good prices ($9-10 for burgers and $13 for fish and chips). 2 thumbs up!

Good food, excellent pricing and solid beer. This is a nice corner brew pub. We ordered the potato nachos, lobster roll and fried haddock. Both the lobster roll and the potato nachos were outstanding (5 stars). The fried haddock was okay. It came out over cooked and a dark brown shell hinting of old oil in the fryer. The beers were well balanced and they had a good variety. Wed enjoy going back here again.

The pretzels were great. The fried fish was perfect, a thin fillet, lightly battered, crisp on the outside and moist inside. The service was excellent. The fries were good and the tartar sauce average. My wife said her steak tips were good and her sides, which I tried, carrots and green beans, were great. My only complaint was that the atmosphere downstairs leaves something to be desired.

DO NOT ORDER THE FISH AND CHIPS! The fish was a large very flat thing. There was more breading than there was tasteless fish. The breading was so hard that I needed to use a knife to cut it. I would think that Sebago would be embarrassed to serve what was certainly manufactured and frozen fish when Portland is known for its fresh seafood. Oh by the way, I did get indigestion from it.
