I live around the Hammond area and I have always enjoyed Kirin but as of last night, I refuse to ever eat there again. I had reservations for 10 people, some who were from out of town. I was informed that one person would need to be there to claim the table. I was there 10 minutes early and the hostess told me that as soon as another member of my party arrived I could be seated. Five minutes later, My friend and her husband showed and I informed the hostess. At this time, "the owner" told me that my entire party would need to be there before he would seat me. I then proceeded to tell him what was told to me and he immediately told me that he would not serve me. I was floored and my friend was shocked also. This statement was left field. My friend then asked him to explain the reason we could not be served and he shooed her away and told us to get out of his restaurant. This all happened in the waiting area, where others were waiting also. I have never been so embarrassed in my life and i couldnt fathom a reason for him to kick us out other than our race. The food is good but I will never eat here again. If you support racist establishments, then be my guest but if you stand for equality and people not being thrown out like common criminals then this is not the place for you.

Me and my family have been regulars at Kirin for years. We have watched this awesome restaurant, its owners and its staff grow through the years. The owners as well as staff are very friendly and pay attention to their guests as individuals. The food is always fresh and consistent. It is always a pleasure for me and my family when we dine here. The owners truly value their customers and it shows from the moment you walk through the doors. Great jod Kirin keep up the good work

I love Kirin Sushis sushi (for an excellent sushi roll, try the Dragon Roll), BUT, only draw back is that their phone number 542-8888 never seems to work. I get an over message answer message, no one picks up or I get a fax buzz in my ear. They have great food, great service, I just wish theyd fix their phone lines and ANSWER THEIR PHONE!! Oh and their hours are a bit odd, they serve lunch up until 2pm then close and re-open and serve dinner from 5:30pm to 10pm.

Overall, I really like the sushi here. Most everything I have eaten is very fresh and tastes delicious. The issue that I have with this restaurant is the wait staff. Not consistent at all, and not the most professional. If the staff was more on point, I would eat here much more often than I do, which is about once every two months, currenlty. But, we are getting more Japanese options in Hammond, so I am hoping the competition helps bring up the service here.

Lots of options from hibachi to sashimi & sushi and other cooked dishes. Very fast & friendly service... and a ownership presence working the floor helped make this a consistent good option for dinner. Good spot for groups in the dinning room or at the hibachi tables, more intimate dining at the sushi bar. Nice bar area if you have to wait a few minutes for your party to arrive or If you get there early.

Always get the Cajun Roll! The hibachi rice is excellent and the sesame chicken was delicious. Tried the Shrimp roll, very light and refreshing! But the Cajun Roll will always be my favorite! The staff is super friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is upscale without being snooty. It can be a bit loud and crowded sometimes so I try to go at off peak times and usually have a fabulous experience! :)

The Food was good. The Sushi wasnt fresh. (Spicy Tuna Rolls) The Tuna was great. But the we ordered the Taliapia rare--came out Well. No kids menu Unless you eat Habachi side. Habachi side is at least a 30 min wait--everytime. The food delivery timing was terrible. One dish did not come out until we all were almost thru eating. (The dumplings) Never received one of our rices sides.

when myself and 2 friends walked in, the hostess made a terrible face and acted like it was a chore to seat us, we waited for a server for 20 minutes before we even got a drink order taken. 3 tables were seated after us and had drinks and clear soup, while we still had NOTHING! HORRIBLE customer service! WILL NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

It has the best sushi on the Northshore/Tangipahoa area! Try the Poboy roll, Lions roll, Hammond roll, and Henry roll are delicious! The sky bar has awesome drinks that will satisfy your thirst for night life as well! Its awesome quality allows Kirin to provide the best sushi! Been a customer since the first day I walked in!

I REALLY LIKE EATING HERE. THE FOOD IS WONDERFUL AND THE PRICE IS NOT BAD FOR THE ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI. THE PLACE IS ALWAYS CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN... EVEN THE BATHROOMS.. BUT THE STAFF MEMBERS ARE DIFFERENT SO IF YOU GO DONT BASE YOUR VISIT OFF WHO YOU GET IS ALL I CAN SAY. SOME STAFF ARE WONDERFUL OTHERS NEED A NEW JOB.

Their selection of Sushi left something to be desired, the walls and ceiling were dirty. Our waitress was nice, attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is good, though 90s hits arent really the music Id expect to hear in a sushi place. Overall not bad. Id eat here again, but it isnt my favorite.

Ive been to alot of sushi bars, Baltimore, New Orleans, Canada, Tennesee, Hong Kong, and this is the best sushi Ive had the pleasure to experience. Peter and the ownership work very hard at their profession and knows how to treat customers to keep them coming back.

My favorite sushi ANYWHERE!!!! Peter and his staff are incredible as well. If you havent had the Rocking Roll and Kirin flower you are doing yourself a disservice. Treat yourself and go to this place. Martini bar is awesome as well!!!

Really good sushi and at a good price compared to some others. I like the complimentary soup before you order. There is a sky martini bar upstairs and you can eat your sushi at the bar if you want instead of downstairs.

Everything about this location is great except for the cost. You are paying for the fancy building and sky bar. You can get the same stuff 1/3 less right next door or 1/2 less at the mall. All 3 location taste good.

The "Who Dat" rolls are amazing and I cant get over how good the Beef Tata Taki is. The staff is friendly and helpful, plus they are open late! One of my favorite sushi place of all time. Highly recommended.

Our waiter and the manager wereAMAZING but the chef was EXTREMELY rude and his food had NO flavor! What was supposed to be an exciting night for our children ended up being horrible
