We ordered sushi for lunch. There was a mix-up on the roll we ordered and we wanted to switch it out for another roll. We were told even though we had the wrong roll, completely disliked it, and did not eat it, we would still have to pay for it in addition to paying for the replacement roll. We were regular customers who spent a lot of money there when we went. Not only that, we referred so many other people to eat their. I think that was a little rude on the owners behalf considering the type of industry he is in. In the hospitality industry, it is uncommon to make a customer pay for a dish they dislike, especially if they are a frequent customer of the business. It appears to me the owner is trying to pocket all the cash he can to open Hello Tokyo II

I absolutely love this place. Ive ordered the same thing every single time for years always to go. A few weeks ago my order had something strange on it, ruined the 15$ meal. Well I called to let them know, being a server myself, I know this is common practice. The girl who answered argued with me on the phone about how I always got the strange spicy disgusting sauce on it, I told not once has it ever been like that. Needless to say, she was so rude I dont feel comfortable ordering Togo from my phone or my name or even my specific order. Very disappointed because I really love their food. Usually always pleasant. Im pretty sure she was the owners daughter so... Yeah it wont change.

Great experience. The customer service was on point from start to finish. There was a 20 minute wait, but it was well worth it. Bartender made great drinks and my drink was really good so the wait went by fast. Once we were seated our chef did a great job. He was engaging and the food was AMAZING! Will most definitely go back. Think Hello Tokyo maybe my favorite Hibachi restaurant in Gonzalez.

Fun Meal, Great Taste, Large Portions If you are a fan of food cooked right in front of you with a little flare, then Hello Tokyo is an excellent choice for your next meal. The portions are very sizable, the staff is over the top friendly, and the food is delicious. Another great restaurant right here in Gonzales.

The service at Hello Tokyo is good, but the food is not great. If you have an issue with your order (quality issue), the owner will not replace it, but offer a 50% discount. This establishment does not make any effort to ensure that you are a satisfied customer. I think that is problematic.

The food was great and overall experience with the staff was great. However, they were playing gospel/Christian music over the speakers throughout the entire restaurant. I did not appreciate this, and they should be more considerate of the variety of religions that will be in there.

Food is great. Service is not great. Waited 20 min for a table, 5 min to be acknowledged, 10 min to get drinks. We finally ordered and our food came out in 3 deliveries over a 20 minute span. Next time we will stick to To-go orders.

We had to wait almost an hour for our food, it was ok, the wait was the reason i give it 1 star. I have kids and it was a long expensive night, for descent food. I wont return. . . The boat was pretty, but the fish wasnt fresh.

Always a good time at the hibachi or at a table for sushi. The hibachi chefs put on a good show and the food is good. The sushi is some of the freshest I have ever had and they put a lot into the presentation of the food.

Unfortunately, theres not a lot to compare Hello Tokyo against in Gonzales. Overall though, this is one of the better Japanese restaurants for the price, food quality, and service. I recommend it, and my wife loves it.

We are addicted! Weve been there for sushi bar only for lunch and dinner. And last night went with friends for Hibachi. All visits were great! Food was excellent and so was service. Highly recommend to all!
