Little Tokyo is my favorite sushi place in the area. Michael and Amy are so friendly and helpful. I havent had a roll I didnt like. You can receive a special treat when its your birthday. The sake is great and is actually less expensive than Taiko in Dubuque. I highly suggest checking out the awesome shops in downtown Galena, dining at Little Tokyo, and spending the rest of your night at the local bars. Get a window seat during the Halloween parade... you wont regret it! Update (October 2016): New owners have driven this once amazing Galena restaurant into the ground. Tacky stock photos line the exterior windows. The menu has several typos and some of that same stock imagery. The quality and quantity of my orders are no longer consistent. From the watery crab to the lackluster gyoza, I never plan on returning to Little Tokyo.

Delicious menu - I recommend the Romeo & Juliet lobster rolls and the baked salmon lumps. Friendly service, consistent quality and great selection, especially for a tiny town like Galena. EDIT: Original owners have sold the restaurant, and the food reflects it; old favorites have changed recipes (not always for the better), and most menu items are presented in significantly smaller portion sizes. Was five stars, now an unfortunate drop.

This is our favorite restaurant in Galena. Our nephew was visiting from LA, I should mention that sushi is his favorite when he goes out. He proclaimed this is the best sushi I have ever had. I want to echo that! Michael and Amy put their heart and soul into the freshest, prettiest, rolls youve ever had. Be sure to ask them if there is a chefs special roll. I know youre saying to yourself, sushi in the midwest?? Trust me, go.

Im amazed that this place got all 5 stars. Truly blown away. Im guessing its bc this is a small town with no other sushi options and hardly any Japanese ppl. Im from Chicago and there are 100s of amazing sushi places and Little Tokyo just cant compare. I ordered a cali roll and spicy salmon, the rolls was tight but it tasted horrendous. How can you mess up a cali roll??! Theres nothing to it. The service is also lacking.

The midwest is not known for having good seafood for obvious reasons. But this little place on main street has a great surprise in how fresh the fish can be. I had the little tokyo roll and loved it. Everything was great, the service was great, food was great, the decor was great. You could tell it was going to be a great place because of how many different rolls they have on the menu. Very knowledgeable chef!

I never thought wed have sushi in Galena, and now we have great sushi with friendly service! Yes, Ive had sushi other places - including Chicago - but Ive never had better sushi than at Little Tokyo - always fresh, and always professionally prepared!

FAN FREAKIN TASTIC! And, the squid salad IS OUTRAGEOUS! Had it for appetizer and AGAIN FOR POST MEAL NOSHING! Addicted, cant get enough! Some might find it a bit pricey, but for a tourist town Id say its about average, AND WORTH IT! NOM!!!

Excellent Japanese food! The fish is fresh, the choices are abundant, and you can have your favorite roll made right there. A little bit pricier than other local fare but definitely worth it if this is what youre in the mood for.

We ate here on a Sunday so it was pretty quiet. But the food was excellent and served fast. We had sushi and it was top notch. The service was nice and the presentation was outstanding. Would highly recommend.
