I would not recommend this place anymore. Be aware that when it is crowded, the staff can not handle it. We decided to get a carryout and the pizza was burnt and when I returned to the restaurant to speak with he manager, he began to explain to me about a coal oven and how it is supposed to be a little burnt or cooked. I have been to this restaurant several times and the pizza was never this burnt. I was put-off by the way I was spoken to by the manager and his staff. When he brought me out the "remade" pizza, it was burnt even worse! I also ordered the Caesar salad and the lettuce was not washed. My wife and I could see the dirt on the lettuce from not being washed. Very disappointing and frustrating.

Well this place has many negatives for me. Its small, seats avout 40. The tomatoe soup was straight out a can. The meatball appetizer was bland. We got a half half pizza. Half cheese not bad. The other half was ham and pineapple. And the fruit was small almost crushed pieces. But the worst was our server who other than taking order, and dropping off food was non existent.he stood at a table about 20 feet from ours talking for over 20 minutes. We wont be back. .

I used to love this place until they stopped making the only pizza that i ordered there. The other pizzas are good but they are not the one i wanted.. I normally dont like pizza but this one I loved. I was told they could make me the pizza special order if I asked but the one time I asked they chef didnt know how to do it. However if you love pizza this is a place to check out. they are good at it. a really thin crust cooked in a stone pizza oven.

I will definitely be back on a regular basis! The food was great and the fantastic service was the cherry on top! Ive never felt so welcome in a restaurant before! Hunter was more than helpful from the moment we sat down, with choices of drinks and then he bent over backwards to make sure everything was perfect for us when it came to our food. He had us laughing the entire time and he was so friendly. Highly recommend!

The pizza was awesome!! This place is very popular and I can see why. Its a neighborhood place...good for all ages. Which is the good and bad..we were there on a weekend evening and there were lots of kids and also we were seated near the door and many people standing and either waiting for their orders or waiting for a table. So not a relaxing dinner...but I will be back. The pizza and the soup were delicious.

Most awesome pizza Ive found in Louisville so far. Prices are higher than your big chain delivery places, but well worth the extra $$. Been there twice lately, first time the service was excellent, second time, well, not so much. Still okay, but they were definitely off their game. BUT...both times, the pizza was excellent. Its my new go-to pizza shop when Im in the mood to eat pizza out.

The crust is good, read on please... Most pizzerias outside of NYC focus on toppings. They heap them on, meanwhile the crust is reduced to becoming a delivery device for sauce, cheese, meat. The smart folks at Coals figured out that crust ingredients, cook time and cook method essentially makes the pizza. its delightful pizza and clean environs.

This is some of the best pizza in Louisville! Each pie is cleverly named after Louisville area neighborhoods. The crust is soft and delicious, and the toppings remind me of pizza I used to have at real Italian places in northern Illinois (which I greatly missed when I moved here) they have a decent craft beer selection as well. Love this place!

We checked out Coals Pizza when we visited Louisville recently. All the pies come in 12", and that size was barely enough for our family of four. However, two pizzas would have been too much. I would say it was "good" but not "great." A fine pizza, but not what I would have hoped for for the "premium" price.

Always an enjoyable experience. Visited for date night dinner on a Thursday. Restaurant was 75-percent full, yet the wait staff and kitchen were on point. The Arancini (risotto balls) appetizer was excellent, as were the Brownsboro (pepperoni) and Butchertown (all meats) pizzas. We will definitely be back.

The pizzas are baked at extra-high temperatures, which brings out the flavors in a different way. The pizzas on the menu are named after various neighborhoods of Louisville. You can dine inside or outside. You can bring a (well-behaved) dog if you eat outside.

If youre looking for a good, unique pizza out... this is a good place to visit. They have a solid pizza selection, great beer and the wings/blue cheese are a great way to get things started. Weve been here several times and would definitely go back.

I think this is definitely the best artisan pizza in Louisville right now. Dont go here for a hearty slab of dough and meat. Go for a delicate crust and premium ingredients along with a decent selection of wines in a casual environment.

Best pizza in Louisville without question. My family eats here a couple of times a week! Before Coals I was not a big pizza fan. Now I cant resist it. Our favorite is the Highland. And dont forget the brownie for dessert!

Great Gluten Free options and excellent prices on beer and wine. The patio is shaded in the evening, awesome.. And they have a private event room on the second floor which is great for large parties

Great pizza and friendly service. The pizza was wonderful! I was with a group so we all sampled each others appetizers and pizzas, everything was great. Some of the best artisanal pizza Ive had.

Awesome Pizza and inexpensive. Kind of a small location. They were pretty busy when we went and people were leaving because they didnt want to wait. They missed out on some good pizza.

Food is always good. They have a very unique selection of pizzas and cooked to perfection every time. It is a thin crust, 1 pizza per 2 people is recommended. Service is always great.

As an Italian, and a native New Yorker, I think I know my pizza. Coals had a great crust with bite and the quality of the various pizza ingredients we tried was exceptionally high.

Best pizza place in town! My husband and I are frequent customers. The food is all fresh made and they frequently are adding new specials. Alcohol selection is also great.

Horrible experience. Waiter brought us our drinks and after being seated for 22 minutes, we walked out since our waiter never came back to our table to take our prder

The pizza had good taste to it but very small and expensive for what you get. It is very thin, so thin the the center is just the pan in parts and not dough.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this pizza. The sauce and spices are divine. The pepperoni is not your average circular pepperoni; its so flavorful. Cant wait to go back.
