This place could be terrific or a bit of buyers remorse based on your priorties. First, the food. They serve what youd expect from a cafe: salads, sandwiches, scones, teas, etc ... no entree-like dishes. I had the Monte Cristo sandwich and also had a few bites of the Hot Brown panini. Both were really good ... not great. The bread is wonderful, though. I doubt youll get anything that you wont like, but truly, I dont think youll get anything thats exceptionally great. The atmosphere: they dont go out of their way to create an intimate or unique one, but sure, its definitely better than the homogeneous chain restaurants. I do think its unique location adds to its appeal. The value was the disappointment to me. Both the Monte Cristo sandwich and the Hot Brown panini were $10 each. Thats not more than Id be willing to pay for a sandwich, but neither of them were truly worth that price. Both were about the size of a basic sandwich youd make at home ... not too big and unlikely to really fill you up. And given that neither had any unique fresh toppings or sauces, you in fact could easily replicate either of these at home for a fraction of the cost (except for that homemade bread which really was good!). Overall, I did like eating here. I really enjoy locally-owned restaurants and hope Frankfort embraces this place. I wont pretend cost isnt a factor: for the short-of-stellar food you receive, I think theyre just a few dollars on the high side. But you really should try it for yourself and decide if you can overlook that. I certainly have my own local favorites where cost is no factor.

Went here for lunch about 12:45 on a Saturday. No obvious wait, and the restaurant was far from full, but we stood at the hostess stand for 15 minutes waiting to be helped. Eventually we asked someone if we could be seated and were told somewhat rudely that there was a waiting list. We declined to wait and left. It would have been nice if we would have been greeted and if we would have been told there was a wait when we arrived.

For any health nuts that love great food this is a must stop! As a Frankfort local I can honestly say I could eat here every week. The sour dough bread is phenomenal, they make it fresh every morning. I would recommend the Monte Crisco. I have never liked other Monte Criscos because they are usually way too sweet but Sages is the perfect balance. Make sure to stop in the plant nursery after you eat! :)

Great, earthy place to have lunch or dinner. I felt like the food was great value for the price and the atmosphere is great. You do get some road noise on the patio, but its acceptable. The chocolate cake and coffee was amazing!

So so service. Commenting on the quiche only which is my favorite dish. Sage used to make it fresh. You could tell. Over the last couple of years it changed. It is rubbery and and tastes weird like it is reheated.

Kitschy atmosphere - would be a good place to take clients. My friends and I refer to this place as the "fancy panera" although thats not quite fair. We enjoyed it, especially the flower nursery next door.

Delightful selection of food. Love my chicken salad sandwich. Portions are huge and food is tasty. Dont skip dessert here or at least take it to go. Beautiful outdoor seating area when weather permits.

Very good and fresh food. Service just a little slow even when not busy. Yard bird was good, but didnt fit the bun at all and needed a little salt. Tomato Basil soup was very good, though.

I was so excited to see a local food option open up in my hometown. Sage has a cozy atmosphere and nice selection of healthy eats (plus a few hearty burgers). Check it out.
