My boyfriend and I went to this place about three years ago, it was practically completely empty, it was lunch time too so Im wondering why it was so empty. Sat at a table with a rickety chair. Moved to a different table that was better. Waitress came to take our order and I had several questions for her about the menu. She didnt know anything about what I was asking her. Everytime I asked her a question she had to run back to the kitchen and was gone for a minute or two. This happened three times, I ended up ordering something super simple so that it wouldnt be wrong. The sandwich had way too much bread for the portion of meat, and I ended up just picking it off. The sweet potato fries were decent. Flash-forward 3 years and we go on a Saturday night, the place is absolutely packed. We got a table next to an open area where we played cornhole. Ordered some drinks, and they were pretty strong. We ordered our meals and ask her to repeat what we told her because she didnt write anything down. When she repeated it, it was wrong, we had to correct her with several things. Food took about 35 to 40 minutes, and as expected, the orders were wrong. The fish and chips were absolutely tasteless, fish was unseasoned and extremely bland, the chips were overdone and super, painfully crunchy. My boyfriend asked for french fries instead of chips and of course he got chips. By the time the waitress came back around he had finished his club sandwich. It took another 15 minutes to get the fries, and when we received them, they were limp and almost cold. Seems as if they were pulled out from the fryer too soon, and they were unseasoned and tasteless. We told the waitress we didnt want to be charged for the meal, and she went and got the manager and they took his meal off the check. There is absolutely no reason for me to return to this place. Tons of waitresses, but waiting for the things you ordered is ridiculously long.

We loved the atmosphere so we decided to stop by for a drink and maybe dinner. We wanted to sit on the patio, however, after being ignored for 10 minutes we decided to head inside and get a drink. We approached the bar and asked if they had gluten free beer / food. The bar tender gave us a less than polite response. So we ordered some cocktails and went back to the patio area to watch the baseball game. We were interested in ordering food, however, none of the waitresses talked to us. I have never left a negative review. I had to share my experience as I would want to have the chance to fix these issues if I were the owner of this establishment. Our experience was not favorable but we plan to give them a second chance in the near future.

Ive been going to the Pumphouse for about two years now and its mainly for the atmosphere. Its a great place if you want a laid back atmosphere and decent food, especially in the summer time. Its a great place to be able to sit outside and people watch. On the flip-side, I have to agree 100% with the other folks about the customer service. The male bar tenders are usually pretty friendly and timely so I have no complaints there but most of the female waitresses put off an attitude like they are being bothered to serve you. Thats assuming they ever even come around to take an order and once they do take an order, dont expect them to come around for a while or keep your drinks full... I will say that within the last month or so (March 2011) there are a few new girls who seem to understand the point of being a waitress. If things improve, Ill retract my negative comments but Ive learned that if you want something, go to the bar.
