I cant say enough bad about this place. I absolutely do not recommend that anyone ever go here. The service was bad. The atmosphere was stark and empty, the bathroom dirty, the food even worse and the owner belligerent. We ordered salmon roe as past of our sushi. The eggs were very old, some of them opaque orange and hard. I tried one egg and had to spit it out. Absolutely astonished somebody would serve that! The salmon dinner we got off the grill was just as bad, starting with the sorry excuse of a show from the cook who thought banging his spatulas on the grill would impress. The salmon was hard and dry and they tried covering up the old taste with extra sauce. It was truly awful. My husband said his sushi was whatever but the decomposing salmon roe turned him off. On top of all of this the waitress was dishonest add the menu is extremely over priced at $6.00 per soda. Turn around.

Osaka has been a family favorite for years because of its delicious food and wonderful owner. We have always ordered from the grill menu so I couldnt speak to the sushi. Since changing locations, they dont get as much business as they used to, which probably contributes to a shorter staff and not quite the same experience as the old location. But with that aside, the food is still wonderful and the workers always do an excellent job at making sure we have a good experience. My favorite memory with the owner is when I moved back to Wichita. He hadnt seen me in five plus years but still recognized me the minute I walked through the door. I wish this restaurant could get back to the level of activity it used to be at - the food is as great as ever. If you havent been, you should try it asap!

Let me start by saying I usually love Japanese food. The waiter didnt know what he was doing. The salad had hardly any dressing and was only lettuce and dressing. Our cook acted like he didnt want to be there. He didnt give us the shrimp appitizer. The shrimp was the very last thing we got so it was very overcooked. The teriyaki sauce was lumpy and tasted expired and the cook did not use any type of seasoning. I have eaten at this restaurant before years ago and it used to be good. The only thing I liked at this restaurant was the fried rice but that was such a small portion I left hungry. Our whole table complained because we all gave our food back because it was not good and they only took 15% off of our tickets.

The hostess was the only decent part. We waited 20 minutes to be seated at a table (no one else was there), another 15 for water then another 20 for appetizers. We were 5 of the 9 people in the entire place. There were 5 workers so I do not understand how everything took so long. The portions were so incredibly small. My mother ordered vegetables which was onions with some mushrooms and zucchini. They charged gratuity on our group of 5 probably because they knew they were going to get a horrible tip. I have several family members that are servers so I understand living from tips. I never leave reviews but dont waste your time.

I give this place 5 stars for a few reasons. A) Its out of the way, and almost a well kept secret. B) Ive been going to this location for 6 years now, Ive only had to wait for a table once. Otherwise they can seat you almost immediately. C) The cooks are always funny and talented. D) The owner works very hard to keep everyone satisfied. E)The alcohol and wine selections are both excellent! The only downsides are that they charge for soda refills (Just up the main price of soda and not nickle and dime me), and they generally only have one waiter/busboy, so he gets overwhelmed easily. But bless him he tries hard!

This is by far the worst place we have ever been to!! After being seated and ordering we decided we no longer wanted to eat there after seeing the amount of food for the price and the lack of added ingredients to the meal. We asked to speak to the owner who demanded we pay for all of the food even though they didnt begin cooking it. He also argued with us over the quality of his meals. We left the restaurant without eating anything, but still having to pay. We were very dissatisfied with the customer service, cleanliness of the restaurant, and the overall experience!!!

I go here for special occasions for about 10 years now. Owner knows my name and what I order. Never had a bad experience here, saw some negative reviews and decided to tell my experience as I know negative people are usually the loudest. Best Japanese steakhouse in Wichita,with reasonable prices and you have to try the Emperor!

If I could give under one star I would. Crazy high prices. Our chef was not friendly at all. Over cooked my boyfriends chicken. The shrimp is not deveined. The owner was rude when we tried to talk to him about the chef. Then they added 20% gratuity to our bill because it was a full table even though we were only a party of 2.

Ive been going here since they opened in Wichita at the old location about 20 years and I love this place. Ive never had a bad experience and the owner is the kindest man and always remembers me. I hate that they moved locations because they are kinda hidden now and I am worried they will close.

It was alot better when it was at its other location. But if u want to get in on a Saturday night with no reservations this is the place. The food is OK and but the hibachi grill guy was no so great. Refills take a while and the service is blah. I dont recommend it. Try Kobes.

Food wasnt good, slow service, had to ask for everything. Ended up charging me $63 for 1 meal, still not sure what all the charges were for, shared meal with my 4 year old. Ended up taking 2 hours when sat, before we were able to leave. Unfortunately will not go again.

Went last night. Service was horrible. The whole place smelled like raw sewage. Way over priced for the food you get. Kobes is cheaper and way better. Will never be going to this place again. Im surprised they are able to pass a health inspection.

This was our favorite place to go to when we lived here and wanted to go again, but leary due to the reviews. Other than portions being a little smaller than they used to be, it was really good. The owner was our chef and hes hilarious.

Osaka has been one of our favorite places to eat for many years. Food is always excellent and portions adequate. Service is lacking occasionally but certainly not enough to keep me from enjoying my meal. Highly recommend!

Made a reservation, showed up 28 min early, waited 1hr 40min only to see waitress seat people who just walked in the door without a reservation. very bad customer service. Left out of pure frustration.

The food was terrible, portions were small, server didnt want to be there, didnt do the shrimp throwing or a show at all. Way over priced!! Wont go back, go to Kobe!
