!!!!!!IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!! Folks, please hear me our before you attend this restaurant. I applied here my freshman year, eager to do well and earn some money to support both myself and my mothers chemo. The first few weeks were great. I worked as a server, and because the regulars liked me so much, they often tipped me, which rarely occurs for servers (which you may know if you have ever worked that position). However, I soon started to experience harassment. The head cook took an interest in me that I at first thought to be friendly. However, I soon realized this was not the case. He began texting me almost every night asking to take me out to dinner, and no matter what I said, he would not accept no for an answer (mind you, I am 19, he is in his forties). Because of my rejection toward his advances, I faced repercussions. One week, after finally putting him in his place and stating that I would not like to be romantically involved with this individual, I was taken off the work schedule. Not jumping to conclusions, I assumed this was because I simply did not have hours to work that week. However, I soon remembered something. The head chef was bestfiends with the owner. "What if that had something to do with it," I thought. A day later, I was left with a message from an employee stating "Hannah, we no longer need you. You were given so many opportunities, yet you did not take them." Folks, because I did not accept this grown mans advances, I was fired. You may be wondering "how do I know this." Well, there was talk around the restaurant about the same thing occurring to many other girls, which is why I am so sure of the reasoning. Not only is the fact that this restaurant condones sexual assulat bad enough, but their servers often participate in drug use on the job. If you dont believe me, just smell them while theyre working. Please, after reading my abuse as an employee here, do not attend. Do not enable their disgusting cause of hiring and mulipulating young women for their mens pleasure.

I have had quite a few nice meals at the Hamburg, but the quality of the service and food have been going down recently. Today was the last straw and I will most likely not ever go back, even though I live nearby. As usual we were told to seat ourselves and took a small back booth, out of necessity. Soon after we sat down, we realized that the pipes overhead were dripping on our booth. We let the waitress know and she sort of apologized but did not offer a different booth, which had become available. We ordered and got our meal in good time, but when I unwrapped my napkin and wiped my mouth I noticed that it had already been used-by someone else! The paper napkin I was given had been smoothed out, folded with the (very) soiled side inside, re-wrapped around apparently clean silver ware and a little paper seal put around it. It was very dirty and had egg yolk in the shape of lips on it! I let the waitress know and she appeared not to believe me! She didnt really apologize but did offer to get me another napkin, which my son had already done. I am still a little freaked out by this, since I rubbed a used napkin, with what was probably spoiled food on it on my face. I am sorry to end my happy regular customer relationship with the Inn, but that is just too gross to go back! P.S. Too many gnats too enjoy the food, too!

I would best describe Hamburg Inn No. 2 as consistently good. I have had some bad experiences here - overcooked burgers, inattentive waiters, long waits, and mediocre fries, but all of those are overshadowed by the atmosphere and great breakfast. When Im with a big group of people we have to squeeze into the small booths and make do with the lack of room, but it is always so nice to have that old diner feeling around you. I often overhear really interesting conversations around me, and have even talked to people in the next booth over our breakfast food. This is just my opinion, but I do think they could better improve their lunch and dinner menu if they cut some things from the menu and improved the quality of what is left. It is overwhelming for the customer and for the waitress (and probably most overwhelming for the cooks) to have such a large menu. The breakfast is best, but its usually busy, especially on weekend mornings, so get there a tad earlier than usual to nab a table. My favorite meal here is the eggs florentine. In my opinion, you really cant go wrong with a good hollandaise sauce and hashbrowns on the side.

My buddy and I were here on the morning of April 24th. We sat ourselves after waiting for any of the hipster staff to acknowledge whether we needed to wait to be seated or do so ourselves. Hipster server girl #1 slammed down two menus without saying a word. Hipster server #2 came for a drink order, which was two waters and a Dr. Pepper. 5 minutes later, #2 brought them and insisted I try the soda to ensure she got Dr. Pepper...this was the only thing she got right, yet she walked off without asking for our order. After another 5 minutes, she took our order. We began noticing several people getting their food who had arrived well after we did. Hipster #1 refilled our water glasses ten minutes after they were empty and finally spoke when I said "thank you". After another 20 minutes, #2 came back and asked what we had ordered. I asked her if our order had even been put in, and she honestly answered "no." No sorry, no nothing. We expressed she can cancel it and we left. Owner - do yourself a favor and hire some immigrants who work hard and care. Hipsters are awful people.

The food at Hamburg has always been terrific. However, Ive noticed a lack of attention to customer service in recent months. I realize that people will always go to Hamburg because of the terrific food, however, they seem to have taken their customers for granted. To the owner and/or manager heres some "food for thought": Reevaluate who you hire as your host - the last 3 times Ive been seated by someone who has a terrible personality and shouldnt be in the food and restaurant business at all. He clearly prefers only waiting on "certain" costumers and always makes customers feel like hes being inconvenienced when he seats them, even on a slow day. Although he clearly sees people walking in the door who are waiting to be seated he lacks any sense of urgency. Suggestions: Be attentive to all customers Go out on a limb and try smiling for a change...customers may smile back at you Ask people how their service was when their leaving Remember that you are in the service industry

Horribly miss treated and disrespected by waitress, and cook/manager.The waitress told us to leave and dont come back, by raising their voices. We didnt have utensils, I had to go get them from the waitress to eat our food that was on the table already. I had a prime rib omelet, it had roast beef in it , and it was misrepresented on the menu. The owner was very polite, and very understanding. When i had asked for the owner or someone over the manager the waitress told me to look up hamburg to get the number. I had asked her more than once for the number. The manager did step in and stated he would see if the owner was onsite. we eventually got to talk to him. The waitress at the register was disrespectful and argumentative in front of the owner and lied about what she had said. All around bad service bad food except for the owner himself very polite.
