TERRIBLE Service & Nothing to rave about food: Upon arrival, we waited to be seated at a podium with another family waiting inline behind us. After several glances from a waitress socializing and drinking coffee with other coworkers, I took my own initiative and asked whether we could seat ourselves. She instructed us to reach for menus at the bottom of the podium and find a table. After asking about the what the daily soup was, she didnt know and said, "It may take some time for them to re-heat--I mean cook the soup." Naturally, she came back to take our order, forgetting to find out what soup was on special. Not surprisingly, they ended up not having a special - on a Saturday...After ordering our soup, naturally, I wasnt surprised when we received our entrees after a prolonged amount of time prior to getting our cold soup. Bottom line: Disappointing and shameful service.

Lets see first a couple months ago a coworker of mine was in the rest room near this place. He watched as a cook came out of the stall and went right back in the kitchen without washing his hands. When he brought it up to the manager she simply said "I cant be every where." He wasnt expecting you to watch him go to the bathroom, but perhaps mention it to him and maybe make him wash his hands? Next, after I believed this cook no longer worked there we orders a few breakfast sandwiches to go when the person who picked them up brought them back there were dots of blood on the bags. Needless to say we brought them back and demanded a refund. The hipster girl at the register didnt even apologize. Long story short, by all means go here if you like fecal matter on the cooks hands, blood on your to go bag, and rude customer service.

Best cafe in DBQ! I have been to Manna Java World Cafe more times than I can count, and I love LOVE the food. I always try my hand at something new, and never find something I dont like. The service is always good, sometimes slow, but never rude. The food is fast, at the VERY most 15 minutes. My favorites on the menu are the Sophia Sandwich, the Curried Chicken salad, and ANY pizza! They recently changed their crust and I like it much better. If you are in doubt, just try it. They have a daily blue-plate special which is always a good option and is only $6! Also, you can get two huge slices of pizza and a pop for $5. Other no brainers on the menu: any soups, the Apollonia sandwich, their burgers, and their french toast. The pastries in the morning are delicious and their fresh baked bread is also amazing.

10 am on a weekday morning, everybody from IBM is coming downstairs on their breaks, and CMJ is completely out of almost all the pastries. And bottled water. WTH? The counter staffs attitude is so rude, I wont even go in there anymore. Obviously they dont need my money. The food is breath-takingly delicious. If you can ever get any. But its frickin pricey, and who wants to be insulted for daring to ask if they might go check for more muffins? Ill go to Jitterz or, if I dont have to be downtown, Mollys Silver Screen Canteen; they have way better coffee, anyway.

The management clearly need to take a break ffrom the kitchen or the bank roll and get to know the staff and guest needs. Very loud and boisterous confrontation amongst the manager and staff in clear view of our meal. The person in charge also came out on the floor and had words with the waitstaff regarding the guests request for romaine lettuce over head lettuce and had a hissy fit regarding the fact that the server fulfilled this request and "did not charge extra"...very unprofessionalmanagement. This was at the location out by Kennedy Mall

As a native Dubuquer, I love this place. No, it isnt your typical meat and potatoes joint; but thats what makes it great. For a small town cafe, they offer a great and diverse selection. Contrary to other reviews, I have NEVER had a bad pizza... and have ordered them dozens of times. Breakfast is always great too. You can have a healthy, filling meal at a great price. And the atmosphere is like the workers--laid back and relaxed! BY FAR my favorite place in the area for breakfast through dinner.

We had a very nice lunch here; however, it does get a bit busy during the noon hour. Slightly before or after this time works nicely though. We found the food great; however, the servers could be a bit better. Im looking forward to going back; nice deserts, too. The Roshek Building is on the Register of Historic Places, so its interesting to look at also. Many renovations going on in the area. Take the time to drive around and enjoy the history of downtown.

not worth the visit. every time my wife and i come back to DBQ we always head to CMJ. not anymore. our last visit right after christmas will be our last. we went to the roshek building location and here are the highlights: the service was terrible, the food took forever (and we went after the lunch rush was over), and there were multiple mistakes on our order. time to try something new-----

I went with a few friends to study. My friends ordered coffee, and one hour later, we got asked to leave, because according to them, "We were taking up space." I understand that it is a business, but the coffee shop was nearly empty, and there were other people that were also studying, but were not asked to leave. My friends and I are never coming back to this coffee shop.

Roshek building location - worse service ever! Been there before and thought Id give it another try. I ordered the special to go - stood there waiting for 25 minutes! Then, the gyro was pathetic. Some old lettuce and a few strips of meat. For $7.22 - definitely not worth it and I will NEVER go back.

This location is a part of an aggressive renovation that happened in the Roshek building many years ago. Manna Java snuggles in quite nicely with a wide variety of self served drip coffees and a appropriate amount of breakfast and lunch choices.
