Although this is a huge buffet, it was not worth what I paid for it. The food was pretty low quality for the most part. The first thing that got me was that our waiter was extremely rude, and it seemed that every time he brought anything to our table he slammed it down, stared at one of us, and then just walked away. As for the food there were multiple complaints. First was that even though in most Asian restaurants you can find huge amounts of vegetarian friendly food, there was very little, most everything had meat in it, although they did have a large salad bar. Thats kind of important nowadays considering that many people are choosing to become vegan or vegetarian anymore. The crab rangoons were terrible, the wonton wrappers for them must have been made with the wrong type of flour because they tasted like corn, and when you know what a crab rangoon is supposed to taste like, its very disappointing. The egg drop soup was terrible as well, I have never found a place where I did not like the egg drop soup, but theirs was disgusting. I also tried out their sauteed whole mushrooms in sauce, it was actually not bad, except that they had been sitting so long at a temperature that was under what it should have been, the sauce had become slightly gelatinous, which was a big turn off. The sushi was okay, but not great, the seaweed wraps were of poor quality. They did have a "build your own stir fry" area, but I didnt venture over there since everything else was already so bad. At the end of it all our waiter kept walking back by our table giving us dirty looks and waited until we were finished eating to bring more napkins (which was irritating since there were only three in the napkin holder to begin with), he was also quite openly and tastelessly flirting with a waitress. He also seemed as though he was attempting to intimidate us for some odd reason. If you want quality Chinese food, stay away from this place as well as Panda Buffet. Some of the best Chinese food Ive had around was at Mr. Pandas in Silvis, IL, although this is not a buffet, its great home made Chinese, although they have heavy accents, they do speak English so be patient, they are good people and it irritates me to no end to see people rudely yell at them and act like they are incompetent people. Also, for good Japanese food with a fun show to boot (the chefs will cook in front of you, and yes they do many tricks while doing so, and if possible I would recommend getting Chef Chocolate, hes great) go to Osaka, Ive heard however that the Osaka in Moline, IL is better than the one over in Davenport, IA.

Never really had a bad experience here, though I have to say that for the best experience it is best to go around major dinning times such as around lunch and dinner as those are the times when food will be most likely the freshest. Ive never tried their stir fry bar (as I dont much care for stir fry), but when I go with friends who have tried it out their food looks well cooked and smells good enough that I have even been tempted to try the medley (though I never do cause I didnt like it the last five times Ive tried it). The service is impeccable, as expected from any restaurant bathed in Chinese influence and tradition, but with just enough Americanization to be accommodating to those who come more for the food then the ambiance. The decor is beautiful, and the koi tanks kept clean and sparkling. While at most restaurants with aquariums the tanks are made the last priority and often are over looked and allowed to over grow with algae and parasites, Dynasty is on the ball with the maintenance of their decorative fish, and in doing so give a good first impression of a clean restaurant before you even have a chance to be seated at a freshly washed table. They also keep their water features (placed on either side of the front door as you walk in) sparkling clean, and encourage people to toss a penny into their fountains so as to wish luck and prosperity onto the restaurant and their customers. Over all, I highly recommend this restaurant to both locals and anyone just passing through. Though if you are tight on cash, I suggest coming in before 5pm as their prices are nearly two dollars cheaper as they are still serving lunch. But dont worry, you wont be missing out on any specials, as everything on their menu is served at all times of the day.

Went in first with my roomie and ask to tour before making a decision. We had seen the hostess sweeping the entrance & she allowed our request The place was packed on a Sat. at 2pm. We went up and down each row reading and observing each dish. I was after seafood and sushi. The place was spotless! Clean buffets that were steaming hot &/or iced down. The selection is AMAZING! Jumbo butterfly fried shrimp, octopus hot dish, salt & vinegar shrimp/chicken, cocktail shrimp, crab (imitation) casserole, crayfish, mixed seafood hot dish, steamed mussels, baked salmon, fried walleye, fried chicken, wings, sweet & sour chicken/pork/shrimp, orange chicken, sesame chicken, broccoli chicken, beef brisket, french fries, pepperoni pizza, fresh stir-fly made-to-order, dim sum, fried dumplings, crab rangoon, egg drop soup, egg rolls, full salad bar, fresh fruit (apples, pineapples, pears, bananas, oranges, kiwis), spinach and cheese casserole, fresh green beans, corn on the cob, bread rolls, white rice, fried rice....so so much! Everything was coming out hot and fresh....good turn over. Waitress (Wendy) filled my iced tea 4 or 5 times. Tables and chairs looked high end and elegant. A big beautiful chandelier above the buffet added even more atmosphere. As tables turned over, waitress swept around and kept things tidy. The biggest let down was the sushi...the main reason I wanted to go. I got my seafood fix, but not my sushi fix. Just California & some cream cheese maki, a hand roll crab temaki, tamago & surf clam nigiri. No eel, salmon, tuna or mackerel. Finding a sushi buffet may be a life long goal in the Quad-Cities. However I will be coming back to Dynasty and so should you!!

Reading the reviews posted below, I am compelled to put in a few comments, from the standpoint of a "regular" patron. I have lived in China for extended periods of time, my adopted daughter is Chinese (Hunan) and we frequent this restaurant primarily because of the calibre of food and the crew that works there. They are very accomodating, and if something is not as authentic as you think it should be, they will recreate it for you with less "Americanization" applied. Many foods served at Dynasty (and elsewhere,) have been toned down a bit to suit Western tastes, but if authenticity is what you want, they will accomodate you without complaint. If vegan is what you are after, the Mongolian grille is your best bet, as you can select from a wide array of vegetables and noodles, sans any meats, and have them prepared to taste. As for the "quality" of the food, the time of day, and day of the week that you arrive does have some affect on the array available....but once again, if it is not as appealing as you expected it to be, the Dynasty crew will make a fresh batch on request. Since the buffet is replenished frequently when they are busiest, I would suggest arriving at supper hour for the best selection. As a seasoned traveller, my opinion is that Dynasty is well worth the price and offers one of the better dining experiences in the Quad City area.
