Had breakfast there this morning. Last time it wasnt ""as good" but we decided to try again as it used to be great. Today I got eggs Benedict with fried eggs (not poached) and thin tiny pieces of Canadian bacon that tasted odd. My husband got the real prize a Diablo omelet that wqs presented with a hard slice of cheddar cheese sitting over the top like a shelf, not melted in any stage and is toast was too burned to eat! We didnt say anythong to the waitress, expecting that tjey would see it as not acceptable...but no, we paid our bill, left the food and we wont be back.

The food is great and the price is right. We enjoy just about everything on the breakfast menu, the pastas, the sandwiches and the homemade pie. I would stay away from the pizza, though. For breakfast, my kids love the large pancakes while my wife and I split the Cozy Mess and an order of biscuits and gravy. Their gravy is second to none. This restaurant is seat yourself and can be busy at times (think Sunday after church). The place is clean and the staff is friendly. We love it.

The food is good and the staff is nice, but I dont recommend ordering to go here. We get breakfast almost every weekend to go and they get something wrong every time, from the type of toast to the price to the entree itself. But its just this location, if it wasnt so convenient we would go to another one.

We had the grilled pork tenderloin sandwich and found it to be absolutely great. Grilled pork tenderloins are very difficult to find and even more difficult to find good one. Keep in mind that this is a cafe and should be rated as such. I am taking my mother there for Mothers day lunch.

Worst ever!!! Waited in the drive up forever- asked for the tenderloins to be plain - had the worst scrape job ever , and then acted like we were really unconvincing them by asking for mayo. Would never go back - they should have negative stars, waste of time , money and effort.

If you like simple bland food then this is your place. Service is mediocre. No accommodations for arriving 10 minutes late for breakfast. Had to get a nasty lunch. Waitresses have enough communication skills to take your order, and thats it. Will no come again.

Not very good sorry to say. Ive been there 4 times (breakfast & lunch) to try different things hoping I would find something good, but no. The cavatelli is the worst thing they have. I guess the Mochas were good, but I have yet to have any good food. Wont go back.

I love the hamburgers, the hot sausage sandwich, the salads are served in a cold bowel with crisp salad ,cucumbers, tomatoes, onion if you desire. Not to mention the French Fryes . And if you are really Hungary for breakfast the Cozy Mess is off the hook!

Had a hancering for a cozy mess. We schleped across town just to get told by the bitchy waitress, that they dont offer all day breakfast; even though both google and their website stated all day breakfast. Boo. Hiss.

Great spot for breakfast. Food was hot, coffee delicious. Pretty crowded, as locals know this is the best breakfast spot on the west side of Des Moines. Rates right up there with The Waveland. Reasonably priced.
