Let me preface by saying Ive had sushi all over the country at many different restaurants. Sushi House is as good or better than almost every one. Their sushi is outstanding. Fish is always of good quality. Construction is very good-Never a sloppy roll and ingredients are consistent throughout. Nigiri are served with a good size portion of fish. My favorites include: Fire Dragon Roll, Dragon Roll, Tekka Maki, Negihama, etc Their Chinese selections are great, too. The Happy Family is fantastic, as well as the black bean sauce. Ginger Beef is another great one. For appetizers, the Volcano Scallops are amazing. Gyoza is also very good and their edamame is great, too. Their service is top notch. Always attentive without smothering you. Prices are in line with all of the sushi places Ive been to.

My family and I ordered beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, tonkatsu, 3 maki rolls and a kids bento. The chicken dish they brought was actually chicken katsu with teriyaki sauce. The kids bento was supposed to come with miso soup but they forgot it and the dessert that was also included with the kids bento. The waiter started clearing the table less than 10 minutes after delivering the food and he even took the plates we were still eating off of. Ive eaten a lot of sushi in my lifetime and their sushi was mediocre at best. The only difference between the tuna and the avocado was the color. Both were mushy and fairly tasteless. All and all, the meal was around $70, the quantity was well more than we expected but Id have rather had less for better quality and better service.

Sushi is delicious but I order to-go quite a bit & my order is always messed up. I will be opening up my order & checking before I leave from now on. The first time I received the wrong order & the second time I got home & half of my meal was missing & they wouldnt credit my card on what was missing. Instead they wrote down my name & said They will give me the missing items next time I come in. When I did the manager was SO RUDE! He was questioning me. I couldnt believe the lack of customer service. Treat your customers right. Somehow I got punished for them messing up my order twice. Bummed bc I love their sushi but after how rude the manager was, I wont be going back.

Definitely my favorite restaurant in town and probably the best place around to get sushi, imo. If youre not into sushi the Chinese and Japanese entrees are all great as well (I recommend the ginger crispy beef). Everything seems very fresh and flavorful no matter what day of the week we visit. Its usually pretty busy on the weekends, but the food is worth the wait. The atmosphere is quaint and the staff has always been super friendly and attentive. Mike, one of the co-owners, is super hard working and always has a great smile and a contagious laugh. I love when hes working! If you havent been there yet, do yourself a favor and go! Enjoy!

Wow! We were driving through Cedar Rapids & hungry for Sushi. We read some other favorable reviews so we decided to try it. We were VERY happy with Sushi House. The sashimi peices were a nice-sized, not tiny like we have seen in other restaraunts. The rolls were great, both raw & cooked. Try the house salad...amazing! Not your average puny house ginger salad! Our kids had shrimp fried rice & it was great too. All around great dining experience. Only reason its not five stars is it is a bit pricey, but that is always expected when we go for sushi.

We went there during lunch on a Sunday. They didnt bother to explain the menu to us. It was confusing and the waiter knew it, but he was spanish and didnt know how to deal with our confusion and anger. We wanted crab rangoons, and I could not find it on the menu. I asked the waiter and he said they had them, which if they have them, why wouldnt they be on the menu? The food was good though, but the staff looked like they were all going to fall asleep during the rush. Decor was nice, kind of a small between tables. Maybe try to go during dinner?

This sushi really hits the spot. The place is super busy, but for good reason. The food is great and you can watch the chefs roll your sushi from your seat. The miso soup is very good and pairs nicely with the cold Iowa weather. Also, the Philly rolls are very refreshing and filling. However, the star of the show is the fried shiitake mushrooms rolls with eel sauce. If you go here but can only get one thing, get the shiitake rolls. They were awesome and will definitely have me coming back.

Im not a sushi expert, but I have loved Chinese and Japanese food my entire life. Sushi House is hands down my favorite place to go. My wife and I eat there a couple times a month, at least. I frequently get their 10-ingredient fried rice; not only is it tasty, but the meat isnt plagued with stringy and inedible pieces like you get at other places. I suspect any possible negative review of Sushi House is either from their competition or from sushi snobs.

For Cedar Rapids this is our favorite Sushi restaurant. This is the place if you want to try out sushi, because its fresh. Dont go to any run of the mill asian restaurants if you want GOOD sushi. Trust me I have had dry and just bad tasting sushi at others nearby. This place is for sure most addicting and just a great place to try it out and dab your sushi in some soy sauce. yumm..... Oh yea try the Japanese Beef Teriyaki its delicious!!

LOVE Sushi House. Ive been to Sushi House dozens of times and never had a bad experience. The service is perfect. Professional, attentive, and pleasant, but, never overbearing. The food is consistent, fresh, and ALWAYS DELICIOUS. I love everything, but my favorites are, the dragon roll, the yellowtail, nabe yaki udon (noodle soup hot pot - nothing is more comforting when youre cold or not feeling well), pad thai, and the katsu don.

Delicious food but if youre going here on a date or to catch up with an old friend, dont expect to be there more than an hour before getting kicked out for being there too long! The lady claimed she had reservations for the people up front (there were plenty of tables open) and she made us leave. Completely rude and horrible service. I loved the food but if Im not in a hurry I wont eat here again.

Great service, great food, Great place. We have been dining here for years and have never been disappointed. The Sushi is the best in town. The Ginger Crispy beef is my favorite and the Teriyaki is also fantastic. The egg rolls are the only ones in Cedar Rapids worth having, light and flaky, they are perfect. The atmosphere is just average, but the food and service more than make up for it.

Service was mostly good. I ordered a roll off the mobile online menu. I even asked what was in the roll hoping to avoid cucumber. It When it arrived it had cucumber it. When I asked why she didnt say it had cucumber in it. She gave me a look and said sorry and walked away. Totally her fault for not telling me and offer to fix it. But food was great and quick. Service was blah.
