Our waitress was rude and ordered water with lemon and they gave us 32 oz. Glass of ice water and 1 real little piece of lemon so i asked for more lemon and she rudely said theres a .99 cent charge for more lemon and I was in shock but at that point I had ordered my dinner and needed something to drink with it so I said fine and then she ask how much lemon ...I responded what ever is in the side order for .99cents .My grand daughter said she rolled her eyes at me as she walked away and she came back to the table 3x with out the lemons and I had to repeatedly ask and then she brought 2 pieces of Limes ! Finally after I said no lemons... she brought back a small bowl and yes we were charged even though we only used 2 pieces out of the bowl.. on my way out the door I spoke to the manager and I ask if it was policy to charge for lemon and he said yes if you order a bowl.. I didnt order a bowl I just wanted some in my water ... Well what ever ...I wont be going back and I will encourge others to stay away.. the rude waitress and the customer service was the final straw for me !

Food is always good, but there is one server who always acts like she is being bothered by us when we went. The very last time I was in the restaurant (which was a while ago) she had to be flagged down or we had to ask the manager to get any type of service. Finally when we paid the bill, she stopped a few feet from the table to see how much of a tip I gave her... she started saying something angrily in Spanish, turned towards me and said "Cheap s*#@!" I said excuse me!? and she ran into the kitchen and didnt come out. Talking with the manager got nowhere. My wife called the district manager which got nowhere, but the server still works there. I never got an apology from anyone... nothing. I have not been back and dont intend to. Too bad, the food was good.

Food was good but service sucked after paying and leaving our waiter decides to go outside chases us down and complain about the tip FYI if you want better tips give better service dont just be f****** around with coworkers waiting for us to flag you down and when we did ask him for something he would not bring it oh and he was expecting a big tip lol what a joke vete ALV

Thankfully when we went to eat, we didnt need anything from the waiter again because he never stopped by a second time. The food was bland and not good. So while it was not pricey, it was overpriced for the sub-par mexican food. Give one of the other Shelbyville mexican restaurants a try.

My husband and I have been dining at El Meson for quite a while now and we have never had a bad experience. The service is fast, the food is good and overall things are pretty consistent. Hubby likes the Fajita Taco Salad, and I like the Conquistador when Im particularly hungry.

Horrible service! Order was wrong, long wait for new food. My husband waited on my food to come before he ate so his food got cold! No refills. No check so had to wait n wait and wait. So went up to pay without it! They had to then find our waiter!

First time eating here and it was great! Me and my bf went on a Sunday afternoon so it wasnt busy. Love the decor (supposedly after the remodeling) and the food was hot and delicious. Hopefully it will be like this again when we go back!

We go here pretty regular for work lunches. the staff is always very courteous and friendly. The food is reasonably priced and tastes very good. nothing to really set it apart from other Mexican restaurants though.

Friendly staff, the manager goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. Visit frequently, every 2-3 weeks, as budget allows. Food is great and well priced and service has always been A-1.

The best Mexican restaurant in central Indiana! Salsa is a little chunky, with the right amount of heat! Perfect! Gotta have the giant burrito, Thursday lunch special, its delish!
