Food: 5 Star Service 1 Star: Heres why: I waited for 15 minutes on a to go order that was supposed to take 15 minutes total. Stood with my checkbook waiting the entire time. After eating here multiple times, and writing checks multiple times, I was told "Im sorry, I dont take checks." Not taking checks is fine. BUT, if a business does not take checks they should definitely post a sign letting their returning customers know of the policy change. I will someday go again, but many people would not when they were forced to drive all the way across town to get a checkbook at a place that theyve frequented for multiple years. Even if a business does not take checks, if a repeat customer tries to pay for a $50 to go order with a check...TAKE IT, or you will lose their business. At least for a while.

Used to bring my family out a lot to this restaurant we always loved the food and the service. We have moved away and I must say Im very thankful this restaurant is still here! I was just in a couple days ago with a group of guys and we were amazed with the new decoration , the food was like artwork, and the service was very friendly as usual. There was a very welcome nice welcoming flow throughout the whole restaurant and the manager always went out of her way to stop by every table and asked how everything was and if she can do anything to make their night more enjoyable I really really love this! Good heart and soul was put into this restaurant you can tell with all the new decoration just a thank you for giving the community a great place to come in and eat with the family and friends.

They must make this stuff by hand because its always fresh and flavorful. I was almost full on it before our food came! I usually get the Chimichangas. The portion sizes are large and the food is always hot. Weve never had a long wait. They also have a buffett during lunch, for those of you who have a limit on time. Their Queso Blanco (cheese dip) is great too! The peach margaritas are very good, but I dare you to drink two of them and remain standing! The only thing I dont like is they dont offer Chorizo (Mexican sausage). But everything else is GREAT! Very Friendly! Try it!

Great atmosphere. Tasty food. Excellent service. The outside locks very different from the inside with its gorgeous wood seating. Updates are interior--as they should be: The older outside fits with the quaint town square where the restaurant is located. Note: I havent been back since the town flooded in Spring 2017, so I hope it didnt hurt them. Its on my to-do list to make another trip there.

We Are From Out Of Town and Visited This Awesome Restaurant. We had the best experience and Sarah was an exceptional server. She took care of us in a quick manner, our drinks arrived very fast and were cold and delicious. The food arrived quickly and there was so much and tasted so good. We would highly recommend El Maguey Mexican Restaurant and be sure to ssk for Sarah!

This place is absolutely a horrible experience live close by so we tried to give them a chance twice Sat with no service for more than 5 min. and I mean server after server walking by with not a word spoken. Once everyone at the table got their food but one and their food showed up when everyone else was done eating with no sign of the waiter. Blahhhhh!

The food was some of the very best Mexican we have ever had. Great tasting and worth the hour drive. They served drinks from carafes with straws. No one ran out! The 55 cent margaritas were the bomb, with lots of tequila in them. We had a large group of 10, some well traveled, but everyone was impressed with this place. 5 stars.

Strike 3. Seriously found grill brush bristles in my food. At least thats what the manager told me it was. Still disgusting, what ever it was. Tonight we had to seat ourselves, flag down a waitress. And what do they not understand about "no guacamole, no tomatoes"? Every frickin time. This is my last visit.

Great food! Great Atmosphere! Great Service!! What more can I say? We stopped there on our way home from vacation, we had 3 adults and 6 children in our party, and EVERYONE one satisfied! Not an easy task!! If youre going to order a beer, I highly recommend trying the Damn Blonde!! You wont be disappointed!

They have great food and great customer service. We called at 7:30 and asked if they could accoodate a party or 40 in about 30 minutes. They pulled it off without a hitch and also made everyone happy with the service, good drinks, and great food!

Waited 45 min. Brought out 1 tamale .not the full meal , rest of meal 5 min. later they blamed waitress being new. tamale was bland, beans were runny rice was hard and chips cold (will not be going back. )
