Ropa Vieja de Pollo translates to dirty laundry and is a very traditional dish. Shredded chicken slowly cooked with creole tomato and red wine sauce with sweet plantains, white rice, and beans is very good and very filling, cant go wrong with the traditional. Jarrete de Cerdo are white wine braised pork shanks with mashed potatoes. The pork is very tender and very tasty - went perfect with the mashed potatoes which were some of the very best Ive ever eaten, I would go with the entrée size if your looking for a solid delicious meal. Empanadas with chicken were very good, crispy, good flavor, honestly wasnt much for the dipping sauce but ketchup was a nice substitute and for thought I would offer some honey mustard, ketchup, and something else in those saucers. I wouldnt try the vegetable empanadas again, they seemed lacking unworthy to finish after trying the chicken. Apple cake for dessert was decent enough its cake and ice cream was some pizzazz. Overall, great place, fun and interesting. There is beautiful art work on display, there is great music playing, there is a 1951 Plymouth you can get into, there is an old bank vault, since the building used to be a bank, the customer service was on point, and the food was really good.

It is overly pricy for what you get. Personally I think people eat here because they want to be able to say, "I ate Cuban food!". The meat tasted like it had cinnamon on it (YUCK!) The mashed potatoes were bland. The server seemed shocked when I said the potatoes needed salt. He did not offer to bring any to me. There was no salt or pepper or any other condiment on the table. So I ate the small portion of cinnamon tasting meat and bland potatoes. I will not return. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Cuban food?dont think so..Im from Miami fl. Came here hoping the food would be good.so disappointed! This is the wrost cuban food Ive ever had.. I make a way better tres leche then this place.i will continue to drive 18 miles to havana rumba the 20-30 min trip is worth it then this place which is just 5mins away. Sorry Habana blues but you need to step up your game and represent cuban food better.

This restaurant is ideal if you go there for what they serve: tapas and drinks. If you go there understanding that tapas are like starters/finger foods, Habana Blues will not disappoint. The quality of the food is excellent, and I havent had anything there I dont like. The atmosphere is nice as well -- would definitely recommend to someone who is open to new dining experiences.

First time I have ever dined in a Cuban restaurant and it has definitely set the standard high. Excellent food quality and service, with a family friendly dining atmosphere. Ulises was it server and deserves much praise for his recommendations and service quality. Add in the experience of dining on a "main street style" dining experience and its one amazing time.

OMG! THE LAMB CHOPS! So literally everything I put in my mouth made my soul shine. Not to mention the ambience is calming intimate and beautiful. I went during the day and we were the only people there. I feel like people in Louisville have no idea that this gem exists. While it is extremely similar to Havana Rumba, the food has a few other options.

We absolutely love this place. From the many choices, to the quality of the food, to the service. Appetizers, tapas, entrees, to desert....all so good. The Mahi Mahi dishes are my favorite. Weve never had a bad experience here. While all the wait staff is great, Ulysses take service to the next level.

Very overpriced. I had "spare ribs over mashed potatoes". Not sure what it was called on the menu. The very small amount of meat tasted like it had cinnamon on it. (Yuck!) The mashed potatoes were very bland. Staff was stuffy. I did not enjoy my meal. Will not return. Do not recommend.

Having grown up in Tampa FL and raised on Cuban food, I find this place way over priced,$12.25 for a Cuban sandwich, what a rip off. And not even close to the best I have had. So in closing if you want to pay way too much for subpar Cuban food then this place is pretty good.

Food is great. Huge variety, which makes multiple visits near mandatory. Beer selection is very limited. The restaurant itself is comfortable but fun. There were only 3 other tables full at dinner time, not sure what that means for a place in downtown New Albany.
